Really enjoyed our week on this lovely site. Thankfully had good weather and considering the amount of rainfall we had previously the ground was very dry. Fiona who showed us to our pitch was so very welcoming, and could,nt do enough for us, she seemed to greet everyone like old friends.
The pitches are large and we had a seaview as promised, not all pitches have a sea view. Toilets and showers are in porta cabins, but were kept very clean, we did,nt use the shower, as we have our own in the caravan. Walking the dogs through the dog walk to the meadow is so peaceful with benches along the way, plenty of bins and also doggie bags provided. Around the site and the area is like going back in time. The 2 pubs nearest the port light, and the old Inn are both dog, and child friendly. South milton beach was our favourite, 3 miles away, also dog friendly. The south hams is a beautiful area, and we would certainly revisit this site.

Just returned from a great weekend at Bolberry. On arrival we received a lovely welcome from the owner and were given a pitch overlooking the childrens play area which worked out really well though it means you have a longer walk to the toilet block. Talking of which, this was immaculate and 20p seemed to give a good hot shower and we never had to queue (but the site was not full). Loo roll, soap etc supplied. We didn't use the laundy room so can't comment on that. Ice block freezer and wahing up room was clean and well looked after. Nearby Port Light pub restaurant had new play area for kids and this was good. Food was decent too. Hope and Anchor pub in Hope Cove is nice pub out of season but in season the food s pretty average. Beaches in Hope Cove are good for families. Victoria pub in Salcombe is excellent and well worth a visit. All in all - highliy recommended.

We were booked onto this site for a weekend camping based on previous reviews but we were so disappointed at the look of it we decided to lose our deposit and go elsewhere. The site is just one big very exposed field with tents around the edges, no character and no charm at all. There were slight views of the sea but only when standing at certain corners of the site. We drove round a few times but couldn't find anything to like so headed elsewhere.

This camp site was absolutely fantastic. We went with other family members each in our own tent and caravans, the pitches are huge and the views and location don't get much better. The facilities are more than adequate. The site is run by the most friendly and welcoming family who really make you feel like you've known them for years, a real personal touch. We enjoyed long walks from the site to various beaches and lovely little villages, the on site hog roast once a week ,a small shop on site with all the essentials.I would highly recomend this site to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the country and in such a friendly enviroment, We have all booked again for this year!

I have been touring for 10 years and this is the best site I have been to! The site is set in rolling countryside within a farming area. There are excellent views over the sea from the site and there are wonderful walks around the area such as bolberry down and the southwest coast path. 1.5 miles away is the lovely fishing village of hope cove with a splendid beach. Just a bit further on is Thurlestone Beach and about 3 miles away is the lovely town of Salcombe with 2 great beaches. On the site itself there is a children's play area, very big pitches, plenty of room for the kids to play, excellent toilet and washing facilities, a well stocked info room, good views and nice people. Fiona and the rest of the staff are very nice and pleasant and will bend over backwards to help you. The site is very reasonably priced and I will be going back next year. Nearest shop is the Co-op at the garage in Marlborough, which is well stocked. Nearest Supermarket is Somerfield in Kingsbridge. Nearest chippy is also in Kingsbridge although a chip van did come to the site on the Sunday and there was a hog roast on the Wednesday. The roads in the area are of the high hedged narrow lane type so biking with young kids may not be a good idea. In high season on a weekend I would also suggest arriving/leaving there early to avoid coming up against other cars on the country lane towing a caravan!

After reading other reviews we had high expectations of this site. To be honest we were slightly disappointed. The main field is large and exposed with pitches around the edge and down the middle. We pitched in the middle as there were no level pitches available at the edges when we arrived. We found the site to be quite noisy and the pitches to be fairly small. The toilet block was adequate but it was rather irritating to have to have loads of 20p pieces for everything. One 20p in the shower didn't quite last long enough so I had to get out to insert another. This is the first site where I have had to pay to wash up too - yes you guessed it 20p. There was quite a lot of useful local information in the laundry room - which also contained a washing machine and tumble dryer. The chip van which visits the site every week (on Sunday evening) was great. They were just trying out a hog roast the evening that we left so that might be a nice future highlight. There is a small playpark for the children, but unfortunately it is situated down a bank from most of the site so you are not able to keep an eye on the kids without leaving your pitch. I think we paid £13 per night - which seemed expensive when everything was 20p.

I've been camping all my life and I've never experienced customer service as excellent as this. Fiona, who runs the site is absolutely adorable and a real treasure. She couldn't do enough for you, apart from lending us an electrical hook up, Fiona was always on hand to point out local walks, pubs and attractions.
The site itself was lovely. The toilet block, although quite basic was more than adequate and always clean. The views of Hope Cove were excellent and the beach was a mile down the country lane or two miles via the coastal walk (our preference). Chip van once a week was also a pleasant bonus. Would recommend without a doubt.

This site is great - Fiona is really enthusiastic and friendly. The pitches have got to be some of the biggest on any site and the view was lovely. Hope Cove is about 1.5 miles away, although the climb back up is pretty steep and rather narrow for a motorhome. The site is an ideal place for exploring South Devonand is about 3 miles outside of Salcombe, with it's beautiful views. Will definitely be returning

We enjoyed our stay at this site, the owners were very friendly and cheerful. There appeared to be no "reception" as such on arrival and a notice asked us to phone a number at the onsite phone box which we did. A few minutes later a little pick up truck driven by the owner arrived. This is a sort of "mobile reception" which buzzes around occasionally, with the owner getting out for a chat or to allocate pitches. We found this rather endearing and a great idea!
The pitches are a great size and well laid out.We did find the site rather exposed in windy conditions but overall we didnt find it a problem. The toilet facilities are basic but very clean but be very sure to have lots of 20 pence pieces on you as you will need them for showering and washing up!
Access to the site is via a typical Devon country lane which we didnt have a problem with, there are plenty of passing places. The surrounding area is stunning with loads of places to walk and beaches to visit. Having a dog didnt give us any problems as this area seems very "dog friendly"
We have only one gripe about the area and please bear in mind that we did visit early in the season so some facilities may not have been open but there seemed to be a lack of pubs or other watering holes open during the afternoon - even on a Saturday when England were playing in the World Cup! We were gutted! After a day on the beach there is nothing nicer than calling in at a pub on the way back to the tent for a cold drink.

Lovely site, toilet and shower block very clean, and Fiona very friendly. The surrounding area is beautiful, plenty of places to eat out and we had no trouble finding places to go, even with 2 German shepherds in tow. We had one day of bad weather and we wouldn't liked to have camped there if it was like that for longer, as the site turned into a bit of a mud bath. Our two kids loved the site and would go there every year, and we would all definitely visit again.
