Fab site! Our first experience camping as a family, we are hooked! Loads of space, generous pitches and a huge area for children to play within sight. Good play area too with swings, see saw etc.
Fiona was lovely and a warm welcome, helped us choose the best pitch as was very windy when we arrived. We were part of a group of 3 families, all pitched together, fab! Would recommend heavy duty pegs as we bent quite a few of our normal ones, as we say, this was our first trip!
Lovely clean shower/toilet block. 20p for a lovely 6 min shower, I felt it was a bit small to keep everything dry but husband didn't complain! Lovely wash up area with great views over the sea. Up to date weather forecasts in shower blocks, v helpful!
Freezer to put ice packs is free.
Nice walk to Hope Cove, very hilly but good excuse for that relaxing drink at the end! Good pub serves good food within steep walking distance. Spectacular views along the coastline, esp Burgh Island, a short drive away.
Lovely holiday, will return!

First impressions, open field, with nothing to block the winds. Owner friendly, alas asked for her fees twice! Had to pay 20p every time wanted to wash-up most unusual, in excess of £18 per night fees. Stayed 4 nights excellent area, good views from high ground. Good walk to Hope Cove if fit & able. No disabled facilities. Bins at site entrance, a good walk from facilities Plus side toilet facilities always in excellent order.

I stayed at this site for the early May Bank Holiday with my Diving Club. The owners were extremely accommodating and put us all together despite making separate bookings. The site is clean, well kept and very pleasant. It has a nice feel to it and its nice not having shops and bars on-site or too close by. While the lanes to the site are narrow, they are also very quiet and we had no problem getting our boats or my camper to the site. The mobile Chippy is superb but you will struggle to eat a medium portion of chips - huge portions!

Just stayed at Bolberry Farm for May summer bank holiday. This being half term week was full with a mixture of families of various ages as well as many couples without kids. Fiona the owners could not be more helpful and friendly. The site has laid out pitches, most with electric as an option and the majority are more or less level. A complete mixture of caravans, campers and various tents. The toilet facilities are a basic portacabin set up but all very clean and well maintained and stocked. 20p coin machines for showers ans washing up hot water but all ok and sufficient. The Co-op at the garage in Malborough is the closest and only shop really other than driving toward Dartmouth. There will be a Morrisons in Kingsbridge but was being redeveloped from Somerfields when we stayed. Generally a nice quiet place to stay but very much Devon country lanes and small villages.

I went to Bolberry with a few friends and without a car we had to use public transport. Bolberry was very convenient as it was only 30mins walk to Marlborough and the nearest bus stop; which took us to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes, Plymouth etc.
Fiona helped us when ever she had a chance and greeted us as if we were old friends. She even made sure she gave us the best site, sheltered from the wind and closer to facilities. This turned out to be a success as on our last day there were gusts of up to 50mph and our tents stayed up!
The facilities were very good, although the showers were 20p for exactly 6mins, 20p for hot water for the washing up, and £2 for the washing machine. There was also a shop open in the morning at 8 and 10; selling basic food such as bread, eggs, bacon etc as well as sweets. There was also a hog roast on Thursday evening and fish n chips on Sunday evening, which was very good as we did not have to worry about cooking!
I would thoroughly recommend this campsite as it is brilliantly located, 1mile to nearest beach and 1.5 to nearest town, and is also very well priced. I will definitely go again. *****

Bolberry House Farm Camping and Caravanning Park was a great base for a holiday in the South Hams area.
We arrived at the site to a friendly welcome and were quickly shown to our pitch. The owners had obviously put an effort into putting our group (of families and friends) together although we didn't all book together.
The pitches were slightly sloping but the grass was in good condition despite all the rain! There was hook-up available although we didn't use it. The playground was excellent and the children spent many hours there. Toilet facilities were always clean and are well looked after. My only comment is that the cubicles for both showers and toilets were quite small, especially if you needed to take children in with you. There were also dish washing and clothes washing facilities in the block. There were ample water points around the camp site.
The site shop opens for 2 hours each morning and sells breakfast basics. Otherwise there is a small Co-op a few miles away and a bigger Somerfield in Kingsbridge. On Sunday evening a fish and chip van arrived at the camp site and provided some lovely food (although the queue was massive and some people, regulars I guess, had chairs and a a glass of wine with them). There was also a hog roast on Wednesday although we didn't try that. For those that need a break from cooking there are also a number of takeaways that deliver to the camp site.
Hope Cove was just about within walking distance (30-40 minute walk) but a lot of it was down a fairly busy narrow road so not very suitable for walking with small children.
All in all a lovely camp site.

Very simple campsite but very exposed. We stayed in The Paddock which is a lot more attractive than the main field - which did strike us as really bleak and characterless, with a grey stone track going round it. The drive into the Paddock is sweet, through the hamlet and the farm whereas with the main field, you're just straight onto it. I wouldn't fancy taking a caravan down those lanes! Very narrow, with few passing places.
The Paddock is very exposed though, and although we had a view of the sea (from the top end of the paddock) it was often obscured by the mist. And it was very very windy. There are only hedges on the south side of the field, so we backed onto a wire fence.
If you have children over the age of 5, don't expect them to be very interested in the playground. If you're staying in the Paddock, it takes 10 minutes to walk there and consists of a couple of swings, a seesaw and a sandpit. However, if you're staying in the main field, it might be an idea to be overlooking it, as a lot of children do hang out there so your kids might make some friends there.
The toilet block for the Paddock is a bit old and basic. 20p for everything, which gives you a 5 minute shower - well, more of a trickle than a shower to be honest. The shower block for the main field is more modern but not better. I was surprised they leave the lights there on all night - we could see them from our tent in the paddock and in this day and age, I'd have thought they'd try and save electricity.
Hope Cove is great, we were lucky enough to be there for the fireworks on the bank holiday weekend. Lovely atmosphere. I wish we'd checked out a footpath down to the Cove, because the road there wasn't really feasible to walk along - no views because of the hedgerows and tricky with the traffic because it was so narrow.

Had a great weeks holiday, even with the bad weather. No problems with any flooding - ground dried quickly.
Large flat Pitches around the edge of the site, allowing lots of space for ball games etc. Pitches do slope near the play area.
Play area in one corner of the site.
We stayed in the main park as we needed electric hook up but there is a Paddock site for those who don't require electric (this site has the sea views)
Central block - showers, washing area etc - need 20p - no problems, plenty of hot water and no queues. Dog Walk ok.
Fish n Chips van and hog roast weekly - great.
Lovely Hope Cove down the road - need to drive as too far to walk, there is a car park.
Great Walking nearby
The Garage in the village has a very handy Co Op
Small shop on site open 8-10am sells milk, bread, bacon, eggs etc.
Fiona the owner is Fantastic and on hand and very friendly
We had a great stay and would recommend this site especially if you want a site without noise, bars etc. We will return in the near future.

Friendly site but so exposed, if you are worried about wind damage to your tent, this is a site to avoid! 2 broken poles and a broken zip, need I say more. We were not given the option of choosing our pitch and were put in the middle of the field, with horizontal rain!
The campsite is in a lovely area, close to some interesting beaches. It's a stiff walk down to Hope Cove, the nearest beach. The roads leading to the site are narrow with high hedges but with passing places.
Loos and showers basic but kept clean, take 20p's for the showers.
The play area was for younger children my boys told me, they did not go back. They are 8, 10 and 12, however there is lots of space for cycling and games when it's not raining.
As you can see, we had some tough weather, and am unlikely to go back due to exposed site.
We are experienced campers of many years but there are limits!

A mate and I go every year to this area to hire a boat in Salcombe Estuary and do some fishing.
This was our first stay at Bolberry. It's a nice site catering for all caravans and tents.
As we were a tent and not interested in facilities we were put in the paddock. This was pretty exposed and the wind whistled around like you wouldn't believe! The weather was awful for 2 days of our stay
Pitches are clearly marked and a decent size though the Paddock is on a slight incline. You have to think about tent orientation to ensure you don't roll out of bed at night!
Getting to the toilets means negotiating a pretty treacherous path down concrete steps so ensure you take a decent torch for night excursions.
All in all a good site with decent basic ameneties and good for families and couples.
Though it is close to lots of nice beaches and beautiful Hope Cove etc. They are just too far to walk (and it can be dodgy walking the lanes with no pavement or places to get out of the way of cars) so we ended up using the car all the time.
As always the fishing was pretty good though!
