We visited this site in the half term break, and despite expecting this to be busy it felt spacious and calm. The pitch sizes in the main field are very generous and they do not over book the field leaving plenty of space for the children to play.

The toilet block was nearby and clean. However, having to pay 20p for a shower was a hassle - the meter being outside the shower cubicle. The cubicles for both the toilets and showers were tiny, very difficult with little toddlers. Having to pay the same amount for hot water to wash up also seemed excessive. However you don't have to pay to freeze your ice blocks!

That said we loved it here, the owner was friendly, helpful and welcoming, the pitches very big and spacious and the views spectacular. The little caravan shop was also good, and you could get takeaways delivered to your pitch! The sheet of walks given to us by Fiona was very helpful, and we enjoyed exploring on foot. Even our littlest (2.5yrs) just about managed the walk to Hope Cove.

All in all a good site, just come armed with 20ps!

We were only staying or 2 nights but the 2 sisters treated us as if we had booked a fortnight, the site was immaculately kept on both parts. We were in the paddock for non-electric spots. Tents were kept well apart and the toilets, showers and washing facilities were a 1 minute stroll away.

Bolberry is a dog friendly site and the local beaches also offer the chance to take your hound along with you. They have a dog walk with pooh bags at both ends. There is a small shop early in the morning and a fish and chip van comes over once a wek and on wednesday night there was hot roast pork baps to buy.

This was a lovely site and we all enjoyed our time there, we will definitely return

Just spent a long weekend on this beautiful site and agree with all that has been said with one exception. The short route via the lanes to Hope Cove took me 25 minutes going down and 40 coming back up. It was very hot, but I walk at quite a good pace for a pensioner. Parts of this route are very steep and narrow and I passed a young couple with one child on shoulders and a baby in a buggie, and was very thankful not to have the same burdens.

The first day I followed Fiona's directions and walked via Bolberry Head and the coastal path down to Hope Cove and back via the ridge. Not suitable for buggies and much further but very pleasant. I was a bit bothered about the lack of mobile phonesignal in case I got into difficulties whilst walking on my own.

Hope Cove is lovely and the views from the site and walks are spectacular, well worth the effort.

I almost don't want to tell you about this place. A hidden treasure of a place. Lovely spacious pitches - we had the pick of the place the week after Easter and the weather was lovely too.

The showers were 20p for an adequate shower and shampoo - I never got caught out with conditioner still in my hair! It's other camp users that didn't mop up muddy foot prints but otherwise cleanliness and adequate supplies were in abundance.

The owner - Fiona treated us so so so warmly and helpful and gave us so much information on walks and places to go - she was an angel without wings. I felt really tearful on leaving. She is proud of her site and wants everyone to enjoy themselves and relax.

The pitch was great and the dog walks and play areas are wide open and wonderful - you have a view of the sea and the sunsets over it every night while we were there were worth seeing and the clearest night skies with stars in their millions because you are away from the maddening crowd.

No traffic noise no street lights no electric pylons, you just feel like you have stepped back in time with birds and insects and cows moo-ing. And sheep baa-ing and the nature of things. It took me back to a time when life was at an easier pace.

The hand outs they give you on places to see and walks to go on - a week wasn't enough. And think we disappointed Fiona we didn't do it all in our weeks holiday. It was so hot. But we loved the site and will go back there again.

There is one tight bend leaving the village of Marlborough but the traffic all were very courteous and this is for cars regardless of towing a caravan - they were great when we had the caravan on the back too. Plenty of passing points past this point as the road does narrow. I have known much worse.

Hope Cove is a ten minute walk through the prettiest lanes, or across fields and it is heaven - a secluded dog friendly beach and a short walk around the corner and another beautiful golden sand beach. Very popular with locals and tourists, lots of holiday let cottages there sadly - well for me it strips away the community spirit / character of the place a bit for me.

But it is just idyllic and so so pretty with its collection of thatched cottages and pretty gardens. And the coastal path as always provides a beautiful and dramatic experience and forever changing with each bend you go around.

Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed in a quiet retreat that gives you relaxing generous pitches, views, peace and quiet, sunsets & sunrises, nature, great pubs, lots of local beauty spots and wonderful dog friendly beaches.

We love this site. The owner is incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful and cannot do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. The facilities are basic but clean and all you need.

The views from the site are magical and the local pub at Hope Cove serves the best fish and chips ever! A fish and chip van also comes to the site in peak season and that is an experience which should definitely not be missed.

Salcombe is a short distance away and can be reached by boat from South Sands. It is a lovely little town with interesting shops. There is a supermarket attached to the local garage about one and a half miles from the site.

The beach at Hope Cove about a mile and a half away, is ideal for children, sandy and sheltered. The cliff walks are great and nearby Bigbury well worth a visit. We would definitely recommend this site and we will be returning again very soon.

One bonus, or snag, depending on which way you look at it - the mobile phone signal from the site is not great.

The welcome on this site is always very friendly. The south coast path is close by, with some fabulous views out over the English channel. When we were sat beside Hope Cove you could have been anywhere in the world as the water was blue and sand was clean.
From the seat outside the toilets it is worth sitting and watching the sunset, the view down the coast goes on for ever. The site is always kept clean and tidy, with a dog walking area that has bins and bags provided.
There is a children's play area in the same area as the pitches, so children can be kept an eye on. Would go back again and again. If going for Pubs and nightlife try somewhere else

Can only reflect the generally positive comments for this site. Owners very helpful and work hard at providing all you need.

We stayed Mon-Fri on the main family site. Mix of caravans , motorhomes and tents but pitches are good sized.

Site, mostly flat but some on slight slope, though where the worst slope is, is used for the playground area.

Toilet facilities housed in what look like portacabins at one end of the site, but were generally clean (heavy rain for part of our week did mean a bit of mud around, but the facilities are cleaned at least daily early in the morning).

I did wonder if there were anough toilet facilities (especially mens - 4 showers/4 lavatories) if the place ever got to full capacity with tents, but we never experienced a problem. My only gripe as an XXL was that on the main site the cubicles - toilet and shower - are a little small.

2 Extra cabins for washing up and for laundry

Short, well maintained, dog walk area between the main and paddock sites which was very useful.

Lovely views from parts of the site (when not obscured by mist!) towards Burgh Island.

In summer, hog roast on Wednesdays on site.

We didn't use the playground or hookups - but both do exist.

Its about a 15 min run by car into Salcombe.

Buses run from Marlborough to Salcombe and Kingsbridge, but because of the narrow lanes I wouldn't really fancy walking from the site to Marlborough unless you could find a footpath route.

As it rained on our first night we decamped to the Old Inn at Marlborough for a meal - limited parking/seating, basic menu (pizza, ham egg and chips - though huge portions and certainly tasty) and Doom Bar beer.

This site rates pretty highly I'd say.

Fabulous site for family camping. Lovely large numbered pitches. Really clean toilets and showers. Very friendly owners, my husbands family camped her in the early 1970's its still owned by the same lovely people. You do need 20p coins for the showers and washing up, some people may grumble about this, however I would much prefer to pay 20p for a super clean, hot, 5min shower with no stop start water. Also in the washing up room there was a freezer which you could refreeze your icepacks for free. Laundry facilities, lovely little play area for young children. Walking distance to hope cove beach (parking at the beach £3-£6 depending on season. The best fish and chips for years from a mobile van which comes to the site on Sunday evening. We will definitely be returning here, super for family camping.

A great campsite with plenty of space and clean toilet / washing / shower /laundry facilities. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The site has no shop (which I liked) but the village is a mile down the narrow lane with a post office and a petrol station with a decent shop for all you could want.
The roads are somewhat hilly and not great for the 'easy-out-of-breath' cyclist but there is a great cycle track from the village that runs fairly flat all the way into Salcombe.
The nearby beach, albeit small, at Hope Cove is really nice and there are plenty of other beaches a short drive away, most with NT car parking. A site I will be using again without a doubt.

Fiona who owns the site is wonderful helping out with any issues and greeting us like old friends. The site is lovely and peaceful and has wonderful views across rolling fields. Hope Cove is a short distance away and can be walked from the campsite.
The toilet block is clean and tidy and although showers are 20p they are hot and give approx 6 minutes of water. To get to the site you have to navigate some pretty tight lanes but any traffic we met made way for us without a problem.
The village of Bolberry has only a restaurant and a little post office but there are shops nearby at Salcombe and Kingsbridge as well as the co-op at the garage at Molborough. All in all, a lovely weekend relaxing in beautiful surroundings.
