My Husband and I have just spent our third great holiday at Bolberry House Farm. As usual Fiona and Elaine were very welcoming. Also Fiona was a fund of information and advice for days out etc. We are a retired couple and stayed on the main field in the middle of the school holidays and although this is a family site it is so spacious that children have lots of room to play and any noise the children may make is not intrusive but lends a pleasant atmosphere. We would recommend this site to any age group, families and retired couples.

First visit to this fantastic site. 2 Adults 2 children aged 6 and 3. Suited everyone. Lovely open spaces and large pitches.
We chose a pitch in the paddock which had a beautiful sea view.
Facilities basic but clean. Showers and hot water for washing up 20 pence. Considered this reasonable.
Owners of the site couldn't provide a better service. Always around and offering great advice on where to go and best places for a cream tea !
Small on site shop open during morning for essential supplies (bread, milk, bacon) Children loved going up to get their sweeties.
Several nights of the week, Hog roast, chip van arrive to leave you free from cooking.
Location fantastic for several family friendly beaches, supermarkets 10 mins away in Kingsbridge
We are already talking about when we will return !
Wonderful holiday.

Right from first contact we were made welcome by the owners. This continued through the whole time we stayed at Bolberry, so much so that we came back at the end of August for a second visit.
Everything about the site is just right, from the initial contact, the amenities (both showers and toilets are kept wonderfully clean) and don't forget the quaint on site shop (don't change it). The individual pitches are well laid out to give you ample space, there is a large playing area right in front of you and also a separate children's area at the lower end of the main field.
There are a number of food suppliers that visit the site during the week as detailed in previous reviews which all help.
The position of their site in relation to the surroundings could not be improved. Wonderful views out to the cove, close proximity to Hope Cove (one of the best) and Salcombe means you are in the middle of all you need. Both the owners are always driving past on regular tours of their fields and to shepherd their latest arrivals, so their is always plenty of contact with them if you need it. Children have lots to do and play well in a nice safe environment.
The one down side is that every holiday has to stop, but to paraphrase a well known actor 'we will be back'.

Having visited this site up to three times a year for the past three years we feel very well placed to advise on this fantastic camp site. The owners always give a very warm welcome and are as helpful and as knowledgeable as it is possible to be. Situated in rolling hills within sight of the sea at Hope Cove, this is a rural idyll with fantastic views and nothing but the farm animals to wake you up. There is a small play area for children although our 6 and 9 year olds spend all their time playing ball games and riding their bikes with other children on the site. With around 50 pitches on the main field it is not so big that we do not know where they are and so feel comfortable to let them roam at their leisure. Most pitches have electric hook up and the whole site is kept immaculately. The washing facilities include showers, washing machines and freezers to keep freezer blocks in. With fantastic walks along the coast, Hope Cove within walking distance and Salcombe just 3 miles away there is plenty to do for adults and children alike. Having just finished our most recent stay we will doubtless be back next year.

Absolutely loved this site. Owner is really welcoming and is always available. The site is nicely level and there are now a few hard standing pitches available too.
The facilities are excellent though we did suggest perhaps an extra minute or 2 on the showers (she can put the price up to 50p and I don't think anyone would mind so long as the shower lasts a bit longer!)
Little shop opens on site from 8. 15-9. 15 each morning and the prices are sensible. The Co-op is a couple of minutes drive away and Kingsbridge is only 10 mins away and has 2 supermarkets.
The views are spectacular, we spent our evenings working out the bay and the landmarks.
The play area is basic but my two loved it (2yrs & 6yrs), and thoroughly enjoyed playing on the boats down there.
They've sorted out the cooking too, there's a list of takeaways that that deliver and a chip van comes round on a Sunday evening. They were experimenting with a new burger van (The Burger Belles) whilst we were there and they went down so well they were back every other day for dinner and breakfast (pancakes with bacon/Banana & Maple syrup - yummy!)
This is definitely on our return list. The site was quiet but not too quiet that you felt uncomfortable on, essential when traveling with small children. The pitches are really well spaced, ours was huge, and as mentioned before, the views are spectacular.
This is a great site for exploring the South Hams, Dartmoor, Torbay and Plymouth as the main A roads are just a few minutes away.
Hasta La Vista!

We came back again after a dismal/dull & expensive holiday with caravan in Normandy. Was back a week & decided to phone to see if she had any vacancies & she fitted us in. Had a brilliant 2 weeks, sun was out everyday. Will be back again in June 2014, gonna try & stay 6 weeks next time with our big Avondale in the main field, hopefully either by the water tower or near the bottom gate so come & say hi. Regards Peter & Patsy & Max our new cat

I choose this campsite following reviews on this website and I was not disappointed.
The location is great, especially if you like walking - I definitely recommend the 1/12500 map that you can buy from the site (compiled by a walker for walkers). You can walk out to the stunning coastal path in about 10 minutes and the scenery is absolutely glorious - high cliffs, views and little sandy coves inbetween. The National Trust own a lot of the land and I guess it has not changed much if at all in the last century.
The owners are extremely helpful not only with sorting you out a pitch to your liking but also with general local information.
The site itself is very clean and the toilet and shower blocks are cleaned twice a day. Showers are 20p for 5 minutes but they were hot with a good flow rate. Washing up hot water is also 20p but we thought that very reasonable.
We also took our dog and there was a decent sized offlead walking on site area on site with copious amounts of bags and bins.
I have not done a lot of camping with the family (wife and 2 girls 13 and 11years) but this visit has certainly encouraged me to do more.
I would not hesitate to recommend Bolberry Farm to all my friends and the site is a credit to the owners who clearly are passionate about their business and the enjoyment of their guests.

A rather mixed review from myself on this site.
The welcome from Owner could not have been warmer, what a fantastic site owner. The access to the site is via single track for around a mile with passing places which can be traumatic to say the least however, I knew that prior to booking so, will not dwell on it.
The site itself is clean and tidy with adequate sanitary facilities and set in a lovely location with many beaches nearby.
My problems arose on the first night with a young child slamming his bike into my caravan which when I went to speak to his parents was met with a so what attitude, he is a child, I made it clear in a polite manner that I did not want it to happen again and in fairness the mother apologized the next morning.
Day 2, a young boy rides his bike straight into my car and scratches it, no parents to be seen.
New neighbours arrive on day five and proceed to hit my caravan with a Frisbee just after dark on several occasions, a polite request to the parents to stop it happening was met with derision and laughter and an aggressive tone. Loud music until around 11. 00 from the tent next door did nothing to make for a peaceful break along with the children from 2 pitches away playing cricket outside my van with a 'Real' cricket ball !
As previously stated, the site and owners are fine, the clientele left a lot to be desired.
I would return again however, it would be pitch dependent. In fairness to Owner she said that I should not have tackled the problems myself and spoken to her however, she lives off site and is not always there. I would like a direct approach should my children misbehave or cause damage or concern for damage. Thankfully I have brought them up with consideration for others.

We have just spent 4 nights at Bolberry, the ladies that own the site are the most welcoming I have ever experienced, the site is very well maintained, clean and tidy.
We stayed in the paddock field which was lovely and quiet. The roads into the site are very narrow and caution is required.
The field is sloped but we worked around that. If you want a clean good value site with a warm welcome bolberry is for you.
Overall a fantastic well run site.

We were greeted by Owner who could not be friendlier or more helpful - great local knowledge and able to give you really helpful ideas for walks, places to eat etc.
We stayed in The Paddock field which was quiet - just us and four others - nice big pitches although most do slope. We made the mistake of pitching on the top of the hill with great views but with not great weather - it was so windy - next time we will hedge hug. We had a good amount of rain (!) and the field drained well.
Toilets always clean, showers lovely and hot and well worth 20p. The area is great for walking - a different walk everyday during our five day stay.
Nice dog walking meadow with well mown paths, doggie bags and bins provided each end (still some irresponsible people who refuse to pick up despite the sites provision of everything you need).
