Site was very clean, organised, accessible and with a very friendly welcome and plenty of information on hand.

Good sized and level pitches, dog walk on site was very useful for us.

The Plough Inn was worth a slightly tricky (no footpath in many places) walk, about a mile away.

Not much within reach on foot - when we setup we tend to avoid using the campervan, but easier for caravanners….

Visit was to just have a quick (local) getaway and try out some new camping kit - all good!

Ice cream van visit was a great bonus on a hot day - although unusual for an adult only site we thought.

Fantastic very quiet site. All staff friendly and facilities brilliant.

Lots to do in the area and lots of local walks.

Will put down site for a future revisit.

Beautiful well kept well laid out site with friendly welcoming wardens,

If you want peace and quiet this could well be the spot for you.

Plenty of walks around the area with direction sheets freely available in the information shed.

If I wanted to be picky a shop nearby would help and I did find my phone reception a bit iffy at times

Other than that a solid 10/10 -- we will be back.

Absolutely beautiful site. Wardens Paula and Sean were helpful and friendly. It was my 2nd visit to the site and it was like I was a regular, being greeted by name. My motor mover didn't want to engage and Sean graciously assisted me to push the caravan into position.

The coronation celebrations was such a lovely touch. Plenty of food and drinks for all guests. And raffles/tombola raised money for the local charity Joshua's Trust.

The ablutions are immaculate with 4 individual ensuite cubicles and additional 2 stand alone toilets. There is also a disabled ensuite with ramp access.

Wash up area and laundry facilities available and the loveliest information hut where you can borrow games, movies, and books and some files containing copies of local walks for our use.

The only thing I had a problem with was trying to work. My WiFi router battled to find network, probably due to all the beautiful trees surrounding the site.

 Excellent peaceful site.

Drive down past lodges and caravan site at bottom of drive so away from road noise.

Staff very friendly.

Site spotlessly clean and tidy. Lovely toilet block which was always clean and tidy.

Small dog walk on site.

For a lively young spaniel we had to find other places to exercise him.

Will be back

Lovely looking caravan park with great facilities. The warden who came to meet us was very friendly too.

But. I've taken off stars for the following reasons:

The day before travel I received a stroppy email telling me that if I "didn't pay my overdue remaining balance immediately they may cancel my booking". It WASN'T overdue, and I'd had no communication from them prior to that to request payment of the balance! In fact I booked online and it wouldn't give me the option to pay in full (which I would have), only to pay a deposit. It said that "the remaining balance is to be paid upon arrival". I emailed the campsite to tell them this because as an autistic person I do things by the rules, and to be told the day before travelling that my booking might be cancelled threw me into a tailspin. To date I've yet to receive an apology.

The other reason a star was removed is because even though the toilet block is great, it could have done with being cleaned more regularly. It was filled with daddy long legs, the world's hugest spider, and there was hair and general mess in all of the individual shower / loo cubicles. Not great in Covid times when I'm clinically vulnerable.

Also, it's directly under a flight path so I was woken at 6 am. And I trod in dog's poo on my way to the shower block. I'm a dog owner but people can be disgusting! Cleaning up after your dog needs to be reinforced by the owners.

It was fine for an overnight stop but I probably wouldn't stay longer.

Warm welcome from Paula as we arrived. She described what to do and where the motorhome point was. We did not use this as everything was available on our pitch. Pitch seemed to be level and more than adequate for our 8.2 metre motorhome.

The information hut had a vast amount of local knowledge and walks were printed out and available to take.

The facilities block was absolutely immaculate and cleaned regularly.

We did not go off site as we came for a relaxing break and chilling outside with bird song all around was just right. Sean was always around and eager to help or give advice.

Chemical disposal point was well maintained and the hose easily accessible.

As the Sunday afternoon weather was looking good we stayed until 16. 00 hours and that was only £5 extra.

Yes it is an adults only site and included in the price was free wifi which worked perfectly for us.

We will certainly return.

We stayed for a few nights wanting to visit Cheshire Oaks and Chester with its small Christmas Market.

We had originally booked with camc at Chester Fairoaks but storm Arwen took a pylon down and left Fairoaks with no electricity for a few days. At short notice we contacted this site and enjoyed our stay.

The site is as described by others tidy well maintained with an excellent toilet block.

We saw reception when we checked in this was the only contact we had although we occasionally saw the groundman but not close enough to chat to him.

The site is exclusively for Adults. There was free wi fi but this dropped out a few times (maybe my phone?).

The site was very quiet. The site roads are compacted gravel there are some tight 90 degree turns which needed some care.

Television reception was good using my jockey wheel aerial not too good on the omni directional one on the caravan roof. Plenty of walks nearby and good for dogs.

In truth the site was a little too quiet for me but I'm sure that others would find it ideal.

We booked a 5 nights stay at lamb cottage from 3rd of October

It was easy to get to with our caravan

On arrival we were met by Paula who gave us a lovely welcome and explained where everything was, we met Paula's husband Sean who was also very friendly and helpful

The park was immaculate and the toilets and showers beautiful and spotless

Paula and Sean are a credit to the owners of lamb cottage, they should be very proud to have them as managers

We will defoe be back next year if there is space as it very popular

5 stars all round. all the best. Jan and Graham Coram
