We chose the site for a weeks holiday not too far from home. Location wise it was a good site as near to many attractions to visit. A little noise from Oultan Park, but nothing too bad.
Facilities were good, shower curtains in cubicles could be a bit of a pain and water pressure not great at times, but never had to queue and always nice and clean. Didn't really see wardens apart form when we arrived, but they were polite and helpful.
Would have been a lovely tranquil setting had it not been for a couple parked just down from where we were pitched who were extremely noisy until very late at night, as far as we were aware they weren't spoken to by the owners/wardens to keep the noise down, it spoilt it for us somewhat, so not sure if we would go again!

This is our second visit to this site and was our 'stopping off' visit as we had been touring the South West and North Cornwall, so knowing how nice it is there 2 nights before going home was good. We where not at all bothered by planes overhead and can honestly say that I didn't notice them at all.
A very tidy site, welcoming and clean. The shower/toilet block is lovely and its great to have a whole bathroom to yourself. The push button showers are a bit of a pain, but I can see the point of them.
Only problem is that we ran out of milk so had to unplug and drive to the nearest shop - a good 2 miles away. Unfortunately it didn't sell milk so we had to drive to Windsford. Would be great if site could possible sell the basics[frozen semi-skimmed would do].
We found that we had to drive the motorhome to get anywhere-there didn't seem to be anywhere to walk to safely - no paths. We drove to Blakemere and spent a nice day watching the Falconry display and brousing the nice shops. The car park is big so no problems parking.
We will definitely stay on this site again - fully stocked!

This is a clean, quiet and tidy site. The toilets/showers are exactly as described. I had no problem with shower temperature and even on a July morning the radiators were on for an early morning shower.
The site is nicely placed for visits to Tatton Park, we came for the RHS Flower Show, Speke Hall and other National Trust sites.
There are several supermarkets within easy drive, the site has no shop. Parking is easier at Morrisons if you have a Motorhome.
The site appeared to have most sizes of gas available.
I saw several footpaths within less than 100metres of the site.
The on site warden was friendly and helpful.
However we had booked, several months ahead, a campervan and awning pitch. We were placed on a hard standing usually used by motorhomes. This site's rules are that both unit and awning must be on the hard standing. We were a few inches over but were allowed to continue. I hope the caravan/campervan and awning pitches were easier to peg out than the one we had, both types of pegs I use struggled to penetrate the 'scalpings' on our hard standing.
I would still recommend the site for its generally high standards and excellent toilets.

We had been planning a visit to this site for a while and when we finally got there it was well worth the wait. We received a great welcome even though we arrived late (7. 45pm).
Our pitch was good and fully serviced. We did have a bit of a struggle to get a TV signal but we managed in the end.
The area is beautiful and the site lives up to its reputation, we were not disappointed at all about anything and the people who run the site are very friendly and helpful.
We will certainly be back for more nights at this lovely site.

We are two seniors who seldom erect one of their awnings and have no children or dogs.
Site was easy to find from N. Wales, stayed 4 days en route to Buxton CC site. Site as described on web by owner and therefore generally very satisfied.
Agree about the Airport Flight path but then we found we were not disturbed too much/ also bathrooms.
During the week no problem with few campers - at the weekend with a full site, the usual difficulties.
We see it as an ideal mid-week short stop site when in the area for off-site reasons.

Came in march last year 2010, and was lovely then, this time the difference in the woods across the road, makes you realise to always come twice somewhere at different times, there is so much greenery in the woods and the rhododendrons are all out, lovely. The only let down this time is that at the beginning of the woods on the path there is a lot of dog poo, which obviously residents etc, drive, park up, and then just walk their dog 500 yds, poo, and then go home, carry on the walk into the deeper woods, and there is nothing but ferns and woods, and tree barked paths, much better.
The site itself is good as always, although this time noticed the dog walk on site, could do with tidying up, and the gardens along it, could do with the giant nettles coming out to show off the plants etc. And the showers, have not been seen to, lovely showers, but the standing trays are not deep enough and the shower curtains are not long enough to stop the rest of the cubicle floor from flooding . So don't leave anything on the floor. It will get wet. Apart from these niggly things the site is well worth a visit. Lovely service, clean showers and toilets. Lovely site 8/10.

Stayed at this site for 12 nights, what a cracker! Locating the site wasn't a problem and the access is very good. On arrival we were shown around the facilities all of which were maintained to a very high standard and were then invited to select our own pitch. All the pitches were very spacious and each had a small grass area at the side which could be used for sitting out on. The toilet block was lovely with cubicles containing WC, shower and sink and there was always plenty of hot water.
There is also a small shed which was used as a tourist information centre and was well stocked with loads of information on the local attractions. The only bug bear for us was the very poor reception on both TV and mobile phone and while we don't sit glued to the telly all day, we do like to keep up to date on the news and weather. This wasn't possible as we didn't get any signal for the telly, though after speaking to other people on the site, we weren't the only ones having difficulty. All in all a great site and would certainly use it again in the future.

Not sure I am reviewing the same site as some of the other reviews!
The site claims to be “tranquil” which to be fair it is in terms of no children, however, I do not call being on a flight path to one of the UK’s major (Manchester) airports ”tranquil” From the time we arrived the noise of the planes did not stop. I am not normally a “Mrs Grumpy” but was really looking forward to some quiet. The noise was so bad I could not sleep at night. My husband did not find it as bad as me, perhaps he is a little hard of hearing. I would not complain about this but as the site was so proud of being tranquil I thought this was totally misleading. It was so bad we were going to leave early.
The plus points included the facilities on the site which were excellent in terms of showers toilets etc. Every thing was extremely well kept with hairdryer, full length mirror and lots of nice touches. –Not all bad!
All pitches were flat well spaced out and fully serviced. There was an information box with lots of info on local attractions and a small “library” The site itself was well looked after.
We did not like the location as there was no where to walk from there, the nearest pub being about 3 miles away, fine in daylight but not in the dark after a few pints. It was however a really nice pub and well worth a visit.
I would not re visit this site an d would only recommend it if you are hard of hearing!

On arrival we found a very clean and well kept site and also a friendly greeting from warden.
Site separated into a few areas, statics at the entrance, then a touring section which is all seasonals (very well kept and the only way we knew seasonals as not a car in site). Next is the main touring park which has very spacious pitches majority of which have drainage and water – only the motor-home pitches don't have drainage/ water but there is a hose which reaches all motor-home pitches to fill up tanks. There are 45 touring pitches.
Showers / toilets very clean and well heated. Ladies has 4 cubicles which contain shower / wc and basin. There are 2 further toilets and a couple of basins in the main area of the ladies. There is also a seating area in the ladies – 2 leather chairs and a coffee table – my guess would be to use if queues for showers. Showers are the push button variety, only real downside would be water in showers is at best warm – not hot. Taps though have good hot water so assume water thermostat needs moving for showers.
The facilities block also has a laundry and washing up areas. A small hut contains the information leaflets. The site is beautifully landscaped and views out over the farmland surrounding the site from most pitches, also plenty of grassed area between each pitch so you are not at all packed in near to you neighbours.
No pubs / village within short walking distance. Back up to the main road (approx 2 miles) was an off licence and post office. Further down the road was Blakemere Craft centre – much more than just a craft centre and well worth a visit, with a cafe, restaurant, quality shops, Falcon centre and several quality shops.
Prices in low season were £19 for motor-home pitch or £20 for fully serviced pitch, rising to £26 on bank holidays. The site is adults only and part of the Tranquil Touring group – quality site and would recommend.

We got a last minute cancellation on this lovely site for the bank holiday weekend.
It is adults only and, as a result, was so peaceful. No screaming children or footballs to wake us up in the mornings, and no bikes or scooters razzing past to disturb the peace and tranquillity.
Very well laid out site, with all gravel pitches each with own tap and grey waste drain. The pitches were a good size too.
The ladies toilets/showers were spotless (no children makes a big difference!). My only criticism is that the showers were not hot enough and you couldn't alter the temperature.
The site is dog friendly - even to big dogs. There are some lovely walks around this area.
You feel as if you are 'away from it all' but supermarkets are a short drive away (Morrison's or Asda).
We will definitely visit again just as soon as we can get away from our 16yr old daughter!
