The site is under 5 minutes from the red funnel ferry terminal. It is on a slope that has been cut into terraces, each touring pitch is fully serviced with waste and water, they are a generous size and have hard standing. There are great views from the pitches of the solent were you can observe the cruise liners leaving Southampton.
The site arranged the ferries around arrival and departure times, they get a discounted ferry rate helping with the overall cost.
The site is well maintained with good facilities.
The bar is open every night with entertainment.
The pool area is clean with a limited number of sunbeds / chairs. We used the pool on numerous occasions and didn't have an issue getting a spot.
Waitrose is a 5 minute down the hill from the site.
10 minute walk into west cowes via the chain ferry which the kids enjoyed.
We will be looking to book again for next year.

Waverley Park is just 3 minutes from the ferry & the first thing you get is a very warm welcome. All the staff are very friendly & as as helpful as can be.
The site has beautiful views from the touring section, overlooking the Solent. The area is terraced so everyone can see the sights. The grounds are kept in a great condition & my wife & I had a marvelous holiday at the site.
There is a heated outdoor pool which is also kept in a pristine condition even though it is a few years old. There is a very good bar & restaurant open in the evenings. We found the food a little on the expensive side but considering the quality, quantity & standard of cooking & presentation well worth the extra. Purely for a bit of fun, there are games & activities each evening, too.
The facilities are not new & up-to-date, but, they are always clean & tidy & well stocked with paper & soaps. Hot water is seemingly limitless.
Wi-fi, I think, covers the whole site & I didn't have any problems at all with it. It was always on & very responsive.
There is a small games room with some slots & other machines & a snooker table in the bar. Although there is not really a shop on site, apart from a few 'dry' bits in reception, it's not a problem as there is a large Waitrose 2 mins down the hill & plenty of other shops & stores fairly nearby. Let's face it, nowhere is very far on an island the size of the Isle of Wight!
All put together, we had a really fantastic holiday at Waverley & should we go back to the island would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you to all at the park for giving us a memorable stay!

Actually still on site writing this. We booked everything through sue at the site. Sue was very helpful and did everything for us including the ferry. When you arrive at east cowes it is 5 minutes to the site. Its a tight turn in to a pull in on the left. If 2 units arrive at the same time it could be a problem. You have to walk up to reception where you receive your pitch number and all the information you need. Making your way to your pitch on the narrow drive way is easy providing nothing comes the other way. The pitches are terraced and spacious. If you want the views you need a motor mover. Also when approaching the pitches make sure you go in giving yourself plenty of room for manoeuvre. Everyone on site that we spoke to have been coming here for years and were very helpful in giving information. The showers are very clean and well looked after. Plenty of hot water. Large pub on site but doesn't open during the day so we didn't use. Swimming pool again not used. Only a short pleasant walk into east cowes but nothing there. Just walk onto the chain ferry only £1.50 return. Takes you across to the main town. We were lucky the week we were there 7 days of red hot weather. This site is well placed and quiet even if weather were bad there is still plenty to see and do on the island. We will be coming back to Waverley and can highly recommend this site.

To Find Site:- On leaving the Red Funnel Terminal turn left at the Waitrose Supermarket following the brown camping signs. Take the next right (sharp uphill turn) into Old Road and continue to campsite at the top of the hill. On entering the site, park on the left and walk up to reception to check in.
Waverley Park is situated on a hill in East Cowes overlooking the Solent. The site, which is open all year, has a mix of touring pitches and static caravans. The touring pitches are of generous size and mainly on hardstandings and set out on terraces with good views out over the sea. Each pitch has its own fresh water tap and drain set to the side of the pitch which makes access from the vehicle easier. Units can be positioned either nose in or nose out to enable you to look out to sea. Electric points are convenient to the pitches and are rated at 10 amps and use CEE17 blue connectors. Beyond the touring pitches is a large field which slopes steeply down to the Promenade which is used as the tent area. There are a few level places but not many! There is one toilet block which is near to the site reception so a pretty long, uphill walk, from the furthest pitches. The block is of a nice standard and also contains a laundry and covered dishwash area. Across from the block are additional toilets. The chemical emptying point is about halfway down through the site within easy reach of the touring pitches. The site has a small swimming pool and a children’s play area set out on the grass in front of the “Waverley” which is the site bar/restaurant/entertainment hub. (not open all year) There is also a games room for older children. The food, typical pub fare, and drinks seem to be reasonably priced. Reception does have a few items for sale but they are mainly caravan accessory or play related. There is free site wide WiFi which was generally pretty good and quite fast although occasionally it would cut out and be quite difficult to reconnect. I found the mobile 4G quite good here. Our visit was outside of school holidays. Please note that this campsite requires a 25% deposit on booking and full payment six weeks before arrival. They do offer a reasonably priced cancellation insurance policy. The site has some really good deals with Red Funnel Ferries with big discounts on the full fare if booking the site at the same time.
Waverley Park is a good choice for those that don’t want to take their motorhome or car off site during their stay. It is a reasonably short downhill walk into East Cowes where there is a handy Waitrose supermarket. From here you can catch a bus to Newport which is the main hub of bus services on the Island with regular services to all parts of the Island. Alternatively you can take the Chain Ferry over to West Cowes and enjoy the attractions on the other side of the river. However it is worth pointing out that it is quite a steep climb back up to the site for anyone with mobility difficulties. For enthusiasts the Isle of Wight Steam Railway can be reached by bus from Newport.

The site is within minutes of East Cowes ferry terminal. It is in a great position with lovely sea views. The staff are friendly. Toilets and showers were of a good standard and very clean. The pitches are a good size. Because it was out of season, the pub, swimming pool etc were not open.
We got a great deal with Red Funnel Ferries and we would highly recommend this site.

We booked 10days serviced pitch with red funnel ferry included. The site was easy to find, just 600 yards from the ferry. The site was clean and tidy with views overlooking the solent, pity about
The high trees blocking some of the view. The caravan had to face forwards, so pleased we have a motor mover fitted. The facilities are at the top of the site, a steep climb if you are not good on
Your feet. I was able to use my mobility scooter to go along the esplanade in the evenings. A new Waitrose and Coop are 5 mins away near the ferry. We used the site bar and restaurant, the food was OK but overcooked. The Lifeboat in East Cowes was excellent and not a bad price.
We would use this site again when visiting family.

Just returned from a 5 day visit booked through the Red Funnel discount travel service. Very enjoyable stay. The staff were helpful and the site was clean and tidy. Guests benifit from the free WI-FI which surprisingly worked at our pitch and not the usual 10ft from the clubhouse.
Can't believe the comments left from one of the previous reviewers.
Lovely position, great views over the Solent and minutes walk from the ferry, shops and supermarkets (Waitrose and Co-op). Excellent dog walking path through the woods next to campsite. Toilets were clean, warm and plenty of hot water. Only negative was small number of cubicles in the gents (could be a problem in peak periods) and needing 20p for the hairdrier.
East Cowes has 3 pubs, 2 of which are dog friendly and both a liberal and Conserative club. More facilities are available across the river accessed by the chain ferry. The ferry costs 40p return and runs until 00. 20 each night. Excellent valve and service.
Definately be coming back.

Fantastic site, we rented one of there static caravans for a week.
Although there is nothing the owners can do the whole site is on a fairly steep hill which is an uphill climb to reception, clubhouse and pool, as well as the other facilities. I've two small negatives the field at the bottom has direct access to the esplanade but could do with a pathway across from the main path, this leaves to muddy feet and a slippy surface with any rainfall
We stayed in the larger Osborne which is a 4 bed static, very clean and fully equipped, however seems some mixed messages the site does have wi-fi yet it takes 15 mins or more to boil the kettle, an old put on gas ring type, maybe an upgrade to electric is overdue. The other negative on the van itself all the vans have TVs but the screen size is so small it's impossible to watch, we used it more like a radio, no thought seems to have been given to family's holiday with children are not able to go out of an evening because of sleeping children so the TVs is the only entertainment but screen size is disappointing.
The staff here are always helpful and do whatever they can to assist, a lovely little site without all the facilities of the bigger sites that have you spending cash each time you leave your van. There is a supermarket within easy walking distance which to deliver as does many of the supermarkets on the island, when we return I will do the shopping online for delivery an her or so after expected arrival. The bus service is about ten mins walk away, so easy to travel to this site without a car. The ferry terminal is also 10 mins walk away, so makes this site really accessible.
Even though I've had a couple of negative points will definitely be returning next year. The rates of hire are great and seem to stay the same throughout the year which is very reasonable uh

Am I missing something here from the the previous reviewers of this site? If you are tenting or you are in a van on the bottom level. You have quite a trek uphill to the toilets. They where not spotless when we were there and there are only four cubicles in the gents. Because of the peculiar way they want you to pitch, you are overlooked by the vans above you and we witnessed one or two caravanners struggling to position their units. The cdp is tucked away in a shed behind the statics, a fair distance from the tent field. The only flat ground for tents is at the bottom of the field nearest the sea, were the smell of rotting seaweed is terrible. As for the views over the Solent, you only get a view through the tall trees.
Now for East Cowes, It is a one horse town were the horse as died. Apart from a small tourist info shop, the Blue Mango Indian resteraunt and a new Waitross supermarket, it is shabby and run down. It is totally different from West Cowes and it is not surprising That people will pay £2. 20 a car to cross the short distance across the river on the chain ferry to go there. It also charges 40p for foot traffic, a total ripoff.

Arriving from the Red Funnel Ferry Terminal, the site is easily accessible, turn left at the roundabout and follow the signs uphill for approximately 600 metres, the site is on the left. The pitches are large and terraced so afford excellent views over the Solent as stated by previous reviewers. The on site facilities are clean and well maintained and the staff are constantly working around the grounds to maintain the high standards. Cowes is a lively town, the west side easily accessible via the chain ferry (free for pedestrians) with plenty of shops bars and restaurants. Public transport is available from outside the site as a bus stop is positioned near the entrance. Access to the bay and harbour can be gained by walking down the site and following the road round. We used the promotional offer for 5 nights stay and return ferry crossings from Southampton, this is excellent value and recommended.
