Just got back from weekend away and spent 1 night at this site. I was backpacking with my two daughters and the site was perfect for our basic requirements. The site is dominated by static caravans, and quite a bit of what was probably just (sloping) field before is now in the process of being terraced, in the main for touring vans. There appeared to be one section of terraced area being developed for tents, but the remainder of the field was very sloping - managed to find a spot for a small tent, but if the site was busy it would be impossible to find a level place. Mainly for this reason I would not consider camping there with a larger family tent for longer period.
In addition, the place had a slightly run down feel about it (although perhaps due in part to the time of year). Kids area also was pretty tired, but this didn't put off the kids. However, the facilities were good (loos, washing up, laundry area). Didn't use the showers (!) but they looked OK. Nicest feature was the view of the Solent - particularly when cruise ships went out.

Been gong to this site for 15/20 years would not go anywhere else for our summer hols. Wally (site warden &Joan his Mrs ) are wonderful. Both will do anything for you. A bit busy during Cowes week, but who cares.

Fabulous site but you have no choice but to pitch on an incline. Due to Cowes Week, the place had a Glastonbury feel about it but the owners coped well with keeping the facilities clean throughout. Inconsiderate campers marred a good night's sleep EVERY night for a week but once they had disappeared it was lovely. The site is adjacent to the sea wall and you do get assaulted on a regular basis by the potent smell of rotting seaweed that only East Cowes could have! Great base for Cowes Week and for exploring the Island. Prices did become rather steep (£18 per pitch per night) but the site is the only one in the Cowes vicinity so can charge what they like - it will always be full!

We have just booked to stay on this site for our third year and we are really looking forward to it. The site is family orientated and the facilities are great - always clean and tidy. The vans are kept in great condition and the view of the Solent is second to none especially when the liners are going past. The owners are friendly and helpful and the warden can't do enough for you. We hope to return for many years to come.

My husband and I have stayed at Waverley Park in 2004 and 2005 and are staying again in June 06. We have always found the campsite to have hot showers, clean toilets and the staff accommodating and helpful. What a pleasure it is to wake up in the morning to see the spectacular views over the Solent. We have camped at many sites in the UK and abroad and highly recommend Waverley Park to family and friends. It was great when we asked if we could use the freezer for our packs and the charge was a donation to the RNLI. What a refreshing change to stay at a campsite that is not driven solely by profit! We love the IOW and will return again and again.

I stayed here for Cowes week last year and it was fantastic. Yes of course it was crowded, you couldn't move anywhere in the whole town. Even on the Friday Fireworks night there was still plenty of room on the camping field. The loo block was beautiful, probably one of the nicest I've ever seen, plenty of hot water and clean. Sure after the morning rush they looked a bit mucky but they got cleaned every day. The thing I really wanted to write about was the club house. Firstly the drinks are CHEAP! I was paying £2 for a double vodka & coke. We used to go up there to get a few cheap drinks before heading out to Cowes. On the nights we weren't clubbing it up and came home after the pubs had closed they were still open for that last drink. As to this rude woman I read about in the other review, the girl in reception was friendly and helpful and the bar staff must be the fastest servers in the west, I've never seen two people move so fast! All in all my mate and I had a great time and we'll definitely be back next year!

We stayed here for just over a week. It rained for 3 days so became quite muddy around the caravan & in the awning but cant blame the site for the weather.(or can you?) The pitch we had was a tight fit to get into & im good at reversing but most seamed ok. The small club house I thought was expensive so only went the once. The pool, toilets & showers were clean & free. The geordie who looks after the site was always very helpful& if you asked would give half price tickets for the speedway. The view over looking Cowes was also quite good. The biggest problem was however the steepness of the sloping ground, many of the caravans had several blocks of wood under the stayes to get them level. f you were in a tent it must have been like sitting in a reclining chair

August 2004 I have just returned from a week camping in the Isle of Wight. We decided to visit for the famous ‘Cowes Week’ and selected Waverley as it was a good close location for this. However on arrival I found the site completely congested with tents pitched virtually on top of one another. It was impossible to even drive round where the tents were as it was so overcrowded - as I think was explained to me by the mumbling teenager on the reception desk when I arrived - if you wanted to use your car you would have to park in the car-park provided at the front of the site, which must of totalled about 20 spaces at most! Although I understand that a campsite is a business and needs to make money I think the owners were not really considering how much space each camp pitch would have and was just packing in as many as possible! Although we decided to go somewhere else we did hear a few scary stories from other people we met in Cowes who had decided to squeeze themselves in there! I appreciate Cowes week is a very busy period but I still expect to be allowed some personal space.

July 2002/2001/2000 Well as you can see we have spent the last three summer holidays at this lovely, friendly, family run holiday park and in four weeks time we will be returning there again, and we cannot wait! Peter and Susan who own and run the camp are very friendly and extremely helpful and as other reviews have expressed are very family friendly which when you have young children makes for an enjoyable holiday. This will be our fourth consecutive visit to Waverley Park and we hope to visit for many years to come!

May 2003 Dear Sir, We have just returned from the above holiday park after a week's holiday and would like to say how much we enjoyed the park, it's facilities and the owners hospitality throughout our stay. It is a small family run park and as parents of a young family it is an ideal location for us and we will be definately returning there for our next holiday. The owners were very courteous, helpful and were very relaxed in there mannerism which helps when you have young children. We were especially pleased with the entertainments laid on of a night time which, although not on the same sort of scale as the larger venues, were all the better because it was a far more relaxed and sociable evening where we could relax because the children were as welcome as the adults and were not made to feel left out in any way at all and if anything the entertainment was tailored more towards getting them involved. We cannot reccomend this park or it's owners and staff highly enough and did not want to leave at the end of the week. We love the Isle of Wight and will certainly be back, you have a jewel in the british crown and a diamond of a holiday park.
Yours Faithfully Mr & Mrs McCabe and Family.
