Arrived late on the Friday night and was welcomed straight away, Saturday morning we went to our own pitch and the views were stunning, helped by glorious sunshine.

The club house had some real ale on draught which was a bonus for me, everyone was very friendly and very helpful.

I would recommend this site 100% for location and amenities.

There is a heated swimming pool which was lovely to dip in, a children's park and really good showers.

I would say that the camping field is on a bit of a slope but there are flat spots to be had.

We stayed in one of the flats at waverley park this time, but have also had a caravan here. The flats are very spacious, ours had four double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a huge living room, with a small kitchen. It did need updating, but was adequate for our needs. This park is the perfect place to stay whether in a tent, caravan or flat. The camping field is on a bit of a slope and is flatter nearer the bottom of the park, It is not a big place, but has everything you could need. Its close to shops and pubs. There is a chain ferry about 5mins walk away that takes you to cowes town centre free of charge to walking passengers and has the most amazing views across the solent. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a bar and club room on site, the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. There is evening entertainment to keep adults and children happy. You get your red funnel ferrys cheaper if you book them through the camp itself.

Visited here late April/early May for 5 nights.

From what I can understand, there are fairly new site owners here, who, to my mind, are doing a wonderful job on this great site. Some money has been well spent on the general appearance.

Facilities are really good, with good size service pitches.

There is a good clubhouse, which does good food and some general entertainment.

The views over the Solent are something special and there's plenty of shopping for the girls in nearby Cowes.

Overall, a really good site, and we will definitely return.

We got a brilliant deal with Redfunnel ferries to stay here. £114 for 5 nights (inclusive of ferry crossing)

Superb location overlooking the Solent. From the bottom of the campsite you can walk along the esplanade either to Castle Point or the other way to catch the chain ferry over to West Cowes.

The site is less than 5 mins from the Redfunnel ferry port and about 1 mile from Osborne House.

There is a large Waitrose and Co-Op at the bottom of the hill within easy walking distance.

Not all the facilities were open when we visited since we were out of season. But what was open was clean and fully functional. There was loads of hot water in the showers and dish washing area no matter what time of day. It looked like in season it would have a wealth of facilities on offer including an outdoor heated pool, bar and games room etc.

The site actively encourages wild life. It was a delight to see red squirrels scampering along the ropes hung between the trees, or feeding from the nut boxes.

The great location as well as the very accommodating and friendly staff mean I would definitely recommend this site to others.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this delightful campsite.

The site is quiet and well maintained. The toilets and showers were immaculate with plenty of hot water.

The view over The Solent, with the pleasure boats, cargo vessels, ferries and cruise liners passing by makes great viewing. Red squirrels are a feature of the site and were busy collecting nuts from the feeders provided by the site owners.

East Cowes, which has a Waitrose and Co-op Supermarket, pubs and takeaway food is a 10 minute walk away. The chain ferry, which is free for foot passengers, connects with West Cowes. Outside Waitrose is a bus stop with connections to and from Newport every 20 minutes until late evening, also to and from Ryde every hour until late evening.

We would certainly return to The Waverley if visiting The Isle of Wight again and can thoroughly recommend it to other visitors,

Stunning location only 5 mins from the chain ferry to Cowes and with nice views of the Solent.

All the pitches were fully serviced and were well maintained.

There is a children's play area and pool (closed when I visited) and a nice bar / restaurant on site. I did not try the restaurant, but it looked busy during our stay and there was a cider festival during our visit which was unexpected and really good.

The toilet block is a little dated, but large, warm and with plenty of hot water.

The seaweed gave off a rotten egg smell when the sun was out, but I suppose you have to put up with that on the north & east coast of the Isle of Wight.

A lovely family run site, highly recommended, will definitely come back.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable weeks stay at this site. Site is perfectly located, literally being 5 minutes from the red fuunel ferry port, being within easy access of the local shops and having stunning views over the solent.

The owners were extremely helpful, even coming away from a christening to ensure we were settled onto our pitch.

Waitrose and Co-op within easy walking distance and the bus stop is just outside Waitrose. However bus fares seemed to be very expensive, so unless you have a pass, be warned.

The site was very well kept, gardeners and workers seen everyday and due to the vast amount of rain we'd had, they made sure the pitches were accessible at all times.

Facilities clean and warm at all times, but wouldn't like to have been on the tent field as quite an uphill trek to washblock and loos.

Loads of static vans on site so would probably not return in the height of the season as very busy sites aren't really our thing. However out of season, WE WILL BE BACK

Just returned from a fortnight stay at Waverley Park – what a fantastic site! It’s our second time here and we’ve already booked for 2013 (just like we did last year on our first visit)

Everyone is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We arrived a little later on our first day this year – but on our last visit, the guys that look after the pitches and grounds even took our caravan and sited it for us so we didn’t have to bother after a long journey!

There is a water supply, electricity connection and your own drainage point to your pitch side, which in the main is a hard standing (gravel) with grass for awnings and is always well maintained. The shower block is always clean and we have never had any issues with waiting for showers etc, which are always nice and hot! You also have the pot washing are etc. But we don’t use it although it was always occupied so must be ok and also looks clean and well kept.

The Waverley Inn is on site which has a bar, games room including pool, table tennis and video games. There are different activities in the bar area every evening of the week – something for everyone to enjoy and they also serve good food too – including breakfasts from 9am – 11am. Children are always made welcome by the staff and nothing is too much trouble.

In the gardens there is a Children’s play area and an outdoor swimming pool with a paddling / shallow pool and a slide – great fun.

At Waverley Park you are walking distance to East Cowes and Cowes via the chain ferry (free for foot passengers and cycles / £2 for cars).

It is also a very short drive from the Red Funnel terminal - less than 5 minutes!

We found the park an excellent base to discover the rest of this beautiful island, most of which is easily within a 30 - 40 minute drive.

Thanks for a great stay and looking forward to coming back next year already – well done everyone at Waverley Park!

Stayed in the mother-in-laws caravan for 4 days at the start of Cowes week,

Me and the wife loved the site so much we booked for next year on our 2nd day there,

The site was spotlessly clean the new office was being finished off but unless you saw the worker you wouldn't have known and most of all the views over the solent were excellent with all the boats sailing around

Recommend to anyone with or without children cant wait to return next August.

We really liked this site. The weather had been terrible with lots of rain but the site at the top of the pitch was fine.

The tent field slopes a lot and if you had been at the bottom there would have been problems with the ground flooding.

There are great views over the solent and the ships that pass by are listed in the bar. Great for watching cruise ships.

All the facilities are good, there is a heated outdoor pool and children's play area.

The bar has a lovely outdoor area. At the bottom of the site is the promenade and you can walk into Cowes where there is a waitrose and several pubs.

Would recommend this site.
