This is a fantastic little site that overlooks the bay. Clean, tidy and well maintained it serves as a residential site, campsite and a touring site too. The staff are attentive to detail and extremely helpful. Electric hook-up and individual water and waste supply are available. There is an open door policy whereby you can enter and leave 24hrs a day. I stayed there for 10 days and left to meet family in Belgium and the staff looked after my van whilst I was away.
I will definitely be returning to the site as the fee's were both competitive and honest in the pricing. The site offers a Ferry Booking Service which gives a small discount on the Ferry Operator's prices. Showers were excellent as were the other facilities too. Well worth a visit and I would say that during peak season I would book in advance.
The site is only a few minutes from the ferry terminal so you don't have to rush to get there and then sit for hours waiting for the ferry. You can see that coming in from the campsite.
Have a happy holiday - I did.

We have just returned from a beautiful sunny week at Waverley Park.
This site is in a great location just a few minutes from the Red Funnel ferry terminal in East Cowes. The location on the whole is brilliant, the site is sloping down towards the Solent so the views of the water and the boats are lovely. You even get to see the impressive cruise liners going past early evening.
Unfortunately we, in a touring caravan were positioned behind a static caravan so our view was a row of gas bottles, obscuring our view quite detrimentally. We didn't have many negatives but this was one of them, the other being the lack of privacy on our pitch, as we had another caravan right behind us but higher up, overlooking us and also as we were on the end of a row, a row of static caravans were facing us, so no privacy whatsoever. This is our main gripe and the reason that our review would not receive a really good review.
We found all the staff very helpful and friendly. They request that caravans using the serviced pitches are parked nose first - this gives everyone the best view but means you need to position your caravan by hand (or with a motor mover). As we do not have a motor mover and have a 7m twin axle caravan, we had great difficulty getting into and out of our space, thankfully helpful neighbours assisted in pushing it.
Most of the pubs, cafe's, restaurants and shops are located in Cowes which you can walk to using the chain ferry to cross the river (It's free for foot passengers and the kids found this lots of fun).
The outdoor pool was open most of the time and the children loved it. The play area was in good condition too.

Spent 5 days here as part of a package with the Red Funnel ferry company. The site slopes down towards the coast with an excellent view of the Solent. The lowest part is the camping field, with static caravans/chalets covering the western slope. The pitches were mostly flat, in terraces two pitches deep, with ramps necessary for our motorhome, and well spaced. We had the front side of the terrace which meant our views over the site and towards the sea were unimpeded. Those behind have the benefit of shade from any wind but their view was less. There was a lot of noise travelling up from the port but mostly this added to the ambience. However, dredging is taking place just off the shore and seemed to go on all day, with work carrying on into the evening. We had a trouble-free stay so did not have much to do with the staff apart from booking in but they kept the site spotless. The toilet and shower block are up the hill near the Bar but not too far to walk. Didn't see any of the red squirrels but saw the rope run so they must be about. The pool wasn't well used when we were there but it is nice to have the option. There is a supermarket within walking distance. There is also an excellent cafe just below the site which does a lovely cooked breakfast at a reasonable price.
Getting about the island is easy, with a brilliant bus service. You can get a bus into Newport which then links you to the rest of the island. There's lots to see and keep you amused. Cowes itself is quaint with a free chain-ferry linking East to West.

Utterly fantastic place to stay! The staff are wonderful and are extremely helpful with any problems you have. They were also unbelievably kind to me and my sister who visited the island for the Isle of Wight festival from Edinburgh.
The club house is a great wee place to have a drink in as everyone is talkative an the atmosphere is so positive and friendly. There's a table tennis table and pool tables that were fun to play on.
We had a tent to camp in and did not expect to have any shower facilities but to out amazement their was! What a great wee surprise that was! The site is so close to the Red Funnel ferry and where the festival buses were.
Had such a quality experience! I recommend this place to everyone!

When we visited the site the annual music festival was in progress, which meant some road closures to assist traffic flows but once used to it, proved very little problems at all.
Red Funnel Ferries was booked through the site and proved very successful. Dogs are allowed upstairs only on the ferry which could prove a problem if you have a large dog as the stairs are very steep and there is only one lift. Within 5 mins drive you arrive at the site. On pulling into the entrance, you need to walk up the path opposite to reach the reception. Then a short drive through the statics (be careful as the road is narrow and corners tight) and you arrive at the tiered pitches, and what a view. Dogs can be walked along the promenade at the bottom of the site where there is a private gate. To the right of this you will find a lovely little outside café that does a brilliant breakfast.
Turn left from the gate and within 5 mins walk you reach Waitrose. All other local amenities can be found across the river in Cowes.
Site staff were very friendly and helpful and the site boasted an outdons heated swimming pool, bar, restaurant and entertainment hall. A toilet block provided the usual amenities. All pitches were fully serviced.

This site is in a great location just a few minutes from the Red Funnel ferry terminal in East Cowes.
We found all the staff very helpful and friendly. They request that caravans using the serviced pitches are parked nose first - this gives you (and everyone else) the best view but means you need to position your caravan by hand (or with a motor mover). The serviced pitches are 'hard standing' an don a very, very slight incline so it's not difficult but they did ask if we needed help when we checked in and met us as the pitch. Each serviced pitch also has it's own water point - very handy!
There are no access issues using the roads either from the ferry terminal or arriving from Newport. The front entrance is nice and wide with a pull in if you are towing a caravan so you don't block the entrance or road while checking in.
The site is right on the edge of East Cowes with views over The Solent and New Forest. It's on quite a slope down to the esplande. The serviced caravan pitches are terraced but I think you would get a great view no matter where you are. The site lines up directly with the main shipping lane used by the cruise liners as they leave Southampton. As they turn and head towards The Channel they pass within about 100 yards of the shore - this is quite a site during daylight and even more impressive at night.
Most of the pubs, cafe's, restaurants and shops are located in Cowes which you can easily walk to using the chain ferry to cross the river (It's free for foot passengers). Again, this is just a few minutes walk away.
OK - the shower/toilet block was a bit tired. But it was clean, everything worked fine and nothing to complain about. I prefer sites like this, located on the edge of a town, close to the bars, cafe's and other attractions and facilities. There is always a compromise in that the pitches will be a little smaller than a site in the middle of nowhere. But I'm happy with that.
We'd certainly use the site again.

Just returned from a week at the Waverley and being 5 minutes from the ferry is very handy, access to the site is a pull in layby and then walk up to check in and then drive down a single track lane past the statics to the touring field first impressions are wow! the pitches are on a slope and overlooking the sea and watching the ships was great the view is amazing and are all on hard standing.
The site is well maintained and tidy but the toilet / shower block I felt could do with some TLC ( the cobwebs were not their for the Halloween festivity)
Overall the site and the folk that work their are friendly and helpful and the child's play area is good also if you go to the bottom of the hill and turn right out the site their is a good play area next to the sea and woodland. As you can imagine the island has so much to do on it but I found it quite expensive but Ryde and the Needles are both good days out start your walk from Pucklock park to Ryde it, s absolutely fantastic for kids and the scenery is amazing looking over to Southsea.
Overall a decent site just little niggles but now't more and if I would like to return then yes but based on it's location.

We stayed here for the first time, but unfortunately will not be returning. We have visited the island on many occasions over the last few years and this was the best site in terms of location, which could not be bettered. The site is on a slope overlooking the Solent and we spent many a pleasant hour watching the cruise ships leaving Southampton and the ferries and sailing yachts going in and out of Cowes. It is very convenient for access into East and West Cowes and to the ferry terminal. On location alone we would recommend the site to anyone, however, to our minds there were a number of disadvantages which will prevent us from returning:
The pitches for the caravans, motorhomes etc, were the opposite way around to any other site we have been on and we had to spin the unit so that the A-frame was at the back of the pitch instead of towards the road as it would be anywhere else. The pitches are a bit close together so this can be a tricky manoeuvre.
The shower block is located at the top of the slope, adjacent to the clubhouse and has facilities accessible for disabled. However, we were pitched as high up the slope as it is possible to be and there is still a considerable walk (up a steepish slope)so not good for my husband to access (he is disabled and has difficulty walking). If you have no toilet facilities in your unit this is a distinct disadvantage, and the people in the camping field at the bottom of the slope had a much longer and harder climb than we had - not too good for the older camper or small children.
The clubhouse had entertainment on every night, which is great for those who want it (and no objection to that at all), however they have a set of speakers on the outside wall of the clubhouse which means that everyone on the site can hear the music blaring out (or whatever else was happening). This got a bit wearing by about 10. 30 and on one night went on until 11. 30 - far too late!
Finally - and this is nothing to do with the running of the site - the site has access at the bottom of the slope, on to the esplanade and walks into East Cowes or to Castle Point and this is really good. However at low tide there is the revolting smell of the seaweed left on the shingle beach and it is rank! It permeates right up to the top of the slope - what it must be like for those on the camping field at the bottom of the slope, I can only imagine.
A beautifully situated site, well run and well maintained but too many disadvantages to our minds so sorry - loved the views and the proximity to Cowes but not much else!

Lovely location with reasonable facilities, but very cramped using a caravan. I found it virtually impossible to place caravan on allotted pitch due to the closeness of other vans, in fact without a motor mover I would not have been able to. However that achieved (bearing in mind that I am a single caravanner and a pensioner) I found the food to be of good value and plenty of it. The toilet block was cleaned daily. The children's playground and swimming pool very well maintained. For me as a long time visitor to the Island it was a superb location, literally 10 mins from East Cowes ferry and easy access to site. The site is on a slope and for me it was difficult to walk to beach and back, but for a younger person it would not be a challenge. Staff were brilliant, and very helpful. I will return but I will have a different pitch, one I hope of my choice.

Nice site just behind the sea wall close to the Ferry and a large Waitrose. Those running the site were extremely helpful in terms of advice and info. Has good facilities inc a clubhouse which serves breakfast and evening meals (there is also a cafe next door) a children's' play area and a pool. Cost of a one man tent was £9. 00 per night. Note however that most of the 'field' allocated for tents is on a considerable slope. The bottom of the 'field' is OK but I would not want to pitch on a lot of it
