Booked a 5 night package with Red funnel which was excellent value. Very warm welcome, we arrived early and some sites can be a bit funny but we were allowed in early and were soon set up and watching the boats in the Solent!superb views, just a shame we had bad weather most of the week which made the site quite muddy. The toilets and showers were good, it looked like they were building more as it might get a bit crowded when the site is full. Lovely walk along the seafront to the chain ferry, and some great pubs and cafes in cowes. Apart from the great views, the best thing about the site were the red squirrels! The owners have ropes and nut boxes that attract them and they are so cute!all on all a little gem of a site -quiet (obviously out of season and not many caravans full) fantastic views and walking distance to shops and pubs. Just take your wellies if you are planning to camp in the next couple of weeks!

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Jubilee holiday. We booked 4 nights but unfortunately the weather had other ideas! The lady in reception, the owner I think, was really helpful and rang the ferry company to change our booking so we could leave earlier than planned. She also talked to us about the lovely artwork on the campsite postcard - only 10p and we could pinpoint our pitch so a lovely souvenir!
The ladies shower block is functional but it would be nice to have a bit more privacy around the basins. Also one of the showers runs down into the centre of the block so there was a constant puddle of bath water to walk round.
We were at the bottom of the tent field and had a great view, lots of fun watching ferries and sailing boats.
There is a small kids play area on site but a really good one with a cafe at the bottom of the tent field.
Didn't try the bar but our friends did and said food was ok but they were impressed with the large variety of traditional games they had.
Not much stocked at reception but not far to shops. You can walk to the chain ferry which is free for foot passengers and cyclists, there are plenty of pubs on the other side.
They also freeze your ice packs for a charity donation but this is not obvious on website.
The site is very steep and it's a long walk from bottom of tent field to loo block - take your own in case it's very wet like we did and you will enjoy this site regardless of the weather!
We would go back.

We found this site really excellent!
The views from the pitch were wonderful ( all pitches had good views) and the toilet block and showers were clean and more than adequate, never had to wait for a shower and water always hot.
Not keen on East Cowes itself but there is a large Waitrose just down the road which was excellent!
The playground with an open air pool looked very good also, plus there is a bar with a verandah. Unfortunately the pool and bar were not open when we were there (they were due to open on the day we returned home) I feel that this was a shame as the week that we were there the park was very busy and we had really good weather, it would have been nice to have had the bar open a bit early! Indeed we have stayed on other sites that have opened their bars early in similar circumstances.
This was the only slight moan on our behalf, we found the staff helpful and very pleasant.
Again the views are fantastic, we spent a long time watching the ferries coming in and out and we will definitely be returning again when next we visit the Island.

My brother and I went here on holiday for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a good choice. We travelled by public transport and had no problems finding the site. Most of our shopping was done at the local supermarket which was close to the campsite. The lounge bar on site had magnificent views of the Solent. I enjoyed a hot shower every morning with easy access to the toilet block which was clean and well kept. We would have no hesitation in going there again and would recommend it to anyone.

My family and I camped here for a week in July 2011. The site is well signposted as soon as you get off the Ferry, which made things easy. Our arrival was very welcoming, with the nice lady being very friendly and helpful.
The site is very well laid out and we found it very easy to find our allocated pitch. The view from the top of the site (where we were pitched) was absolutely breath taking. Toilet facilities are very nice, and clean, although a couple more showers / toilet cubicles wouldn't go amiss.
Games room and children's play area was good too, and we loved the outdoor heated pool. Within easy walking distance into East Cowes itself, there are shops / cafe's etc.
A Waitrose supermarket, is about a mile away. A short walk and over the free pedestrian ferry, and you're into Cowes, which is just beautiful. All the site staff were very friendly. Crockery washing area and small laundry area we found very useful with 2 small kids !
The non electric pitches for Tents were on a bit of a slope, depending on where you were situated. The site is on a hill, and it's a bit of a trek to the toilets from the bottom of the field. However, you could take your own toilet !
The only small downside was we were camped right next to the pool, and so noise was apparent through the week. There's also a loud buzzing noise (we guessed was the pump or something) coming from the pool 24 / 7 which we found annoying at first, but then got used to. Also, on occasion, the pub was a bit noisy, but it wasn't intrusive or off putting.
All in all, we would certainly camp here again, but maybe on a different pitch, a bit further down from the pool & pub. We would recommend this place to a friend.

Just returned from this site April 11:
Good bits:
Easy access to the site from Cowes Ferry.
Clean site
Great Views
Walking distance to Local Supermarket and West Cowes.
Friendly Staff
Disappointing bits:
Rats (did inform the warden but little if anything appeared to have been done during our stay. There was quite a few so beware if you have kids or leave food in your tent!)
Bar doesn't open until 1 May!
Bathrooms can be a squeeze when site is full as you'll be waiting a while just to get to the toilet!

We stayed for 5 nights on a Red Funnel deal - great value for money. This is a great campsite if you don't want to go far with your caravan/motorhome when you have got off the ferry. You can be at the campsite within less than 5 minutes from getting off the ferry.
The site was very tidy and clean bins emptied frequently.
The owners were very friendly.
We had a great view of the Solent and had two well known cruise ships go passed one night.
We took our bikes and was able to have a good time cycling around so we could leave the camper on site some days. There is also a bus stop near to the site entrance.
There is a supermarket within walking distance.
The outside pool and club house were not open when we visited but the games room was.
Lots of space in the shower areas which were always clean. The disable shower room was also available when the mens or ladies was being cleaned.
Washing up facilities very good.
There is a children's play area.
With reference to a previous review - we were also there in April. I did see a red squirrel but no rats.
There are several statics on site which were kept tidy.

As others have said-a very nice site with views of the Solent from terraced pitches though at times felt a bit hemmed in. Nice, friendly, informative reception. Toilets/showers clean and free with laundry room next door. With it being early in the season clubhouse and pool were shut. Plenty of wildlife about including some inquisitive Red Squirrels. Easy to cross over to East Cowes where there are loads of restaurants, pubs, banks, take aways etc. Long climb up hill back to campsite though if on foot. Bus stop down the road in front of Waitrose with an hourly service to Ryde. Buses can be caught also from in front of the Coop in East Cowes to Newport, from there to anywhere on the island. Was on a five day deal using Red Funnel.

We stayed at Waverley Park for one night only at the end of our week on the Island, but to be honest we wish we had stayed there for longer! We were greeted by the owner who gave us a very warm welcome considering we had not booked having just turned up.
The positioning of the site is fantastic as all the pitches are terraced and the view of the Solent was awesome and I could have watched the boats coming and going all day. There is a pub on site which we did not use but it was busy so must have been good. The toilets were great.
We walked into West Cowes via the chain ferry and found the area quite cosmopolitan. The shopping is low key but nice, you won’t find the usual high street chain stores here! Eating opportunities are in abundance. All in all we liked Waverly Park and Cowes and would not hesitate to stay again.

Stayed at this site for the second time over the bank holiday weekend. Even though it was very busy the staff were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean and there is an outdoor pool which was next to a small children's playground which seemed to keep the kids happy(we had none with us).
The clubhouse was child and dog friendly and the prices for the food and drinks were very reasonable There was also free entertainment on every night and they served breakfast in the mornings until 11am. We stayed on one of the flat pitches at the top with EHU which had great views over the solent, but if you were in the field below most of the pitches were on quite a slope.
Within easy reach of the ferry port and Cowes via the chain ferry (free) a great place to explore the island.
Will be staying again.
