What can I say but, this has to be “the site that time forgot”. Before I start some caveats which I knew about before booking, the bar was not opened yet, as was the pool (which is only half the size shown on website) so no complaints as knew this when booking in.
However, the bar must have literally closed and nothing cleaned away, as glasses and bottles still sitting on tables and the pool water was green with algae and had plastic water bottle containers floating in the water.
The location, positively is close to ferry, but the general surrounding area not that great.
The facilities are 1970’s at best and haven’t aged well and the general condition and upkeep of site was poor.
The view, if you can call it that, is of the water but in the background the biggest industrial towers I have ever seen, so not really a view.
They were starting to tart up the site, but a bit late for us to enjoy it.
We left 2 days early and we will not be returning and having visited over 30 sites on our many trips this was the poorest, by some way.

Spent a lovely long weekend here with a view to enjoying Cowes Week. Campsite is very close to ferry terminal so is very convenient.
Our pitch was on a slope and we did not realise that we would need to catch a ferry each time we wanted to visit West Cowes as the campsite is in East Cowes!
It's a pity that there was such a long walk to the toilet block from our pitch. Toilets were clean and tidy.
Nice little park for young kids (up to 8 years old) to play in. Our 3 boys (10, 11 and 15) loved the swimming pool.
Alas, weather wasn't great so a bit disappointing for this time of year.
Excellent little cafe just off the bottom of the campsite by the sea, serving breakfasts and lunch.
Campsite has a good cafe and bar.

I liked the views from the camping area straight down to the Solent, and easy access to the Esplanade. The site was welcoming and clean.
The long trek to the shower/wc was an uphill struggle for my legs but again well maintained.
Evening meals available at the clubhouse were far too rich for my pocket, but with shops and takeaways close by which are cheaper, this was not a problem.
I would definitely stay there again.

Love this site. Great location 5 mins from red funnel ferry, east cowes. Part sea views from motorhome.
Stunning sunsets. Electric hook up and water for each serviced pitch.
Good ferry prices through Waverley Park.
Good gravel hardstanding for vehicle and awning. Fairly flat. Highly recommend.

I found the site very tired, was I the middle of workers, and seasonal pitches. If you at the back on your row, you only have a little sea view.
No clubhouse open, so cannot comment on that, but why open all year and not all your facilities.
Showers and toilets clean, could not walk through site to front, water logged.
I believe people live full time on this site, one even has a greenhouse. It is not a holiday park I could recommend

I think the main draw for this site is its location, 5 mins walk to the chain link ferry and water taxi over to Cowes, and partial views of the Solent & River Medina.
The site is made up of Static residential vans, holiday statics, and touring areas.
The site is sloped so the serviced Pitches are steeply terraced, so not much privacy as vans above are overlooking you.
The hardstanding area is barely wide enough to pitch the van with very little space to walk around it to your service points and lockers, kept having to walk on the water sodden mud patch outside the door, a season of awnings had killed off a lot of the grass.
Also only 10 amp electric so fridge and hot water on was all it could take, put kettle on and it tripped, this happened at least once a day, in the end we changed to gas for the hot water.
If you are familiar with the space of a Caravan Club pitch you will be disappointed. Shower and toilet area needs modernising, a good clean would help, lots of cobwebs.
No dog exercise area provided, had to walk them off site, the Red Squirrel trail is your bet option for safe off lead walking. Reception were helpful, and gave us a choice of pitches to choose from even though they allocate you a pitch.
Pool & Clubhouse closed so couldn't comment. Waitrose is only a 5 min walk so handy for provisions, most of the bars, cafes etc are over in Cowes.
Osborne House is walkable from site but as they don't do a grounds ticket only we didn't bother. St Mildred's Church in Whippingham, Victoria's Church is well worth a visit.
A good walk is from the Church down to the river, and pick up the river path to Newport and back down the other side to Cowes via the Red Squirrel trail, a good round 11 miler.

Just come home from a short camping break at the Waverley.
We had a really enjoyable time. The campsite is well maintained with stunning views over the Solent where you could sit all day watching the ship's of all shapes and sizes going in and out of Southampton.
The Waverley is a two or three minute drive from the Red Funnel ferry terminal. There is a nice Waitrose two minutes away for all your shopping. More importantly Osborne House is also two or three minutes away by car.
The campsite as I said is well maintained, the grounds are on quite a slope with the upper pitches terraced, and the lowest pitch level with great views. There is a large open field on the slope for non electric hook ups. Up one side of the site are static caravans (which we have booked one for next year. )
There is a well serviced toilet and shower block, always clean with plentiful hot water. (Although the facilities could probably do with updating. ) The only downside is if you're camping at the bottom of the site it's quite a trek uphill to the toilets, especially in the middle of the night!
There is a clubhouse with good food, drinks and family entertainment, and a heated outdoor pool.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
Beware there are three quite vicious speed bumps, and if you have a low car you will catch the underside quite easily.
The only real shame is there aren't more level tent pitches with electric hook ups.
On the Isle of Wight there is plenty to see and do, for all ages, with nowhere more than 30 minutes drive away.
