Just spent another week at Claylands, weather not great but that didn't spoil our enjoyment, it really is a lovely site, great facilities spotless and quiet and the fishings not bad ether, will certainly be going back again. Close to the lakes blackpool Morecambe for a good day out shopping or just for fun.

Excellent site. This is our 4th time here and will not be our last. It is a lovely and clean site, the showers are very clean and always hot water and are free. There is a park for children to play on and a lovely walk along the river and over the fields to Scorton village. The on site pub The Stepping Stones is a bonus and they have friendly locals and staff and they make you feel welcome. The food is lovely and they have entertainment on through the year. It's very peaceful at night. They also have fishing ponds for the Fisher men. All the staff are always there to help in any way, and nothing is too much trouble.

First time at claylands and yet again another good site that with a little work could be a great site. We stayed hear in our caravan in April for the week end and was put at the back of the site whilst this is a nice place to pitch the toilet block and showers are right at the entrance and was about a 5 minute walk away, as was the only place to deposit rubbish, not good, wouldn't Take much to at least put some bins around the site. The toilets although clean where very cold unlike the showers that where that hot I couldn't stay under them for long as there is no way to regulate the temperature. A shame really as this is a really nice site but falls short of the basic amenities that are needed for the back of the site,

My wife and I have just spent a very enjoyable extended weekend at Claylands Caravan Park site near Garstang. The site is kept in immaculate condition with some of the best toilets and showers we have come across in over 30 years of caravanning. There is even music playing in the showers! Don’t be put off by some comments that say it is up a very narrow lane, there are several passing places and has very little traffic, we had no problems at all.
If you do happen to visit Claylands then you must sample the fish and chips at Thorpey’s about half a mile away from the site along the A6. You should also visit Barton Grange, much more than a garden centre, their cafe is well worth a visit and their pre-Christmas displays are brilliant whatever your age. We will definitely be visiting Claylands again soon.

Just returned from another great long weekend at Claylands as usual spotlessly clean and tidy staff very helpful and friendly, had Sunday roast in the resteraunt very nice indeed and very reasonable prices. A walk to Scorton is a must over the bridge and across the fields, not as far as you think. Roll on the next visit can, t wait.

Just back from a great weekend at claylands the first time in a caravan as we are campers.
First impressions count and was welcomed with a smile and a very pleasent man at reception who was very helpful even though we looked like a bunck of travellers because I was in my van. Arrived at our pitch which I had booked to be near the great playground so I could keep a eye on the kids and was still impressed with the position.
Everything was clean and tidy and the shower block was the cleanest iv seen even had the radio playing in there.
The restaraunt bar mmmm good beer good food but the drinks were a bit pricey and kids were not allowed in the bar area for some reason?????
Only 2 things I could fault are the distance of the bins and the bar prices. There is a train line and motorway nearby but this didn't bother us at all, the kids loved watching the trains and the motorway was just a hum and would only bother you if you wanted it to.

This place would be lovely if it weren't for the noisy railway line, motorway and overhead electricity lines. In a tent I found it hard to sleep and when I did manage to drop off was woken again soon after by thundering traffic or a train. At night the noise seems to be so much worse than it is during the day time. I'm sure that other's wouldn't suffer as much as I did, the person I was camping with for instance didn't find it too bad but then he could sleep on a clothes line.
It is a pity that the people who need the shower/toilet facilities the most, i. E. Those in tents, are the ones placed the furthest away from it. When I needed the toilet in the night I actually got into the car and drove up there!
On the plus side there is an excellent bar and restaurant on site. We had a very good meal, both the quality of the food and the portion sizes were great and we were happy with the value for money too.
The area around the site has everything you could need all within 25 miles. From the local town of Garstang to Blackpool to Lancaster etc etc one would never be short of things to do or places to see.

We recently stayed at Claylands, camping for the first time with our child and another family. Pleasantly surprised on arrival, with a very friendly and organised receptionist. The area for our tent was plenty large enough for our car too. The shower/toilet block was immaculate, no matter what time of day or night you used them. The on site restaurant we used for two evening meals, was of good quality and reasonable prices. Our daughter loved the park too. We visited the lovely nearby village of Scorton. Would highly recommend this site for families or couples, will be visiting again soon.

Just got back from claylands a very clean site well looked after would go back again, the pitch was a solid ground even after all the rain that fell over the weekend, the electric pylons were not even a problem not even the cows in the other field. The amenities were excellent and very clean and the owners were very friendly, if you wanted a day out at the sea-side it didn't take long to get to Blackpool and the same distance to Morcambe about 45 mins travel, the only down side I can think of if you are in a tent it was a long walk to the other side of the site to get to all the amenities and also there was no rubbish bins near the tent location to get rid of your rubbish you had to take it to the other side of the site were the entrance is, apart from that great site nice and clean and would go back again without any hesitation. Also may I point out if you wanted to get a takeaway meal for the night Garstang was only 5 mins away for a pizza or a chip shop.
