Stayed for the last two nights showers used in the morning and at night always dirty were they cleaned ? Touring pitch allocated to us was a long way from the showers. Will not be returning soon. Grandson loved the play area but some work is required muddy sections need attention and the surface needs to be child friendly high equipment results are fall injuries and yes he was supervised at all times.

Just got back from this fab site. Spent two nights here. Got a very warm welcome from reception. Pitches are hard standing. Toilet block immaculate, warm, very clean and even has music. Beautiful surrounding area. Short walk over a little bridge through a couple of fields into scorton. The pub/restaurant on site called 'stepping stones' is family friendly, great bar prices too. It seems to be a great meeting place for people on site who too made us feel welcome. Cant wait to re book. This site is amazing. Thanks claylands. :-)

Stayed for two nights ehu in August, 2 adults 2 children aged 9 and 6.
Was greeted by very friendly owner and given good directions and map to find our pitch.
Unfortunately our pitch was in the very corner of the tent section and a funny size/shape which meant we had to pitch our tent sideways. This wasn't too much of a problem on this visit thankfully as our friends were on the neighbouring pitch so opening out onto them was okay.
We were also greeted by two piles of dog poo on our pitch which we had to remove! We also spotted similar mess up near the main buildings which was fairly unpleasant.
We were directly under the electricity pylons which made a constant crackling noise. Wasn't a problem at night but spoilt the view slightly and meant definitely no kite flying.
Toilet block nice and clean but quite a distance from the tents which isn't great with kids.
Play park was right beside tent pitches so handy for us and a lovely little park which the kids spent most of there time at.
Just beyond the play park is a lovely pebble stream, great for skimming stones and a short walk to the campsite bar and the shop for ice cream.
Shop very basic but does the job fine.
Beautiful flowers and shrubs around main entrance buildings and lovely view from back of bar area down to the river.
Visited the Old Holly Farm a couple of miles up the road which is great for the kids, animal petting and soft play.

Stayed at claylands park for 3 nights, very warm welcome when we arrived, all the staff were friendly and very helpful, the facilities were in very good order, toilets and showers regularly cleaned, the site itself is quite pleasant, read other reviews about the site which mentioned the pylons and nearby railway, didn't bother us whatsoever, stepping stones bar was ok, bit pricey tho, all in all claylands park is a very nice and well maintained site, will definitely be coming again.

This site has excellent facilities including the toilet block, restaurant and fishing ponds. We had a pitch on its own by the statics so was very quiet. On the main camping area there was much going on. The only downside for this area was the overhead cables. The staff we met could not have been more helpful.
The fishing ponds were very small so we went to their associated site (Foxhouses) with Andrew to try their new trout lake (caught 11 trout in 2 hours)
The toilets were immaculate, the food in the restaurant was not exciting but acceptable though a little pricey.
We didn't have children with us but the ones we met were really enjoying themselves particularly in the river.
The site has easy access to seaside resorts. There is a Mace shop nearby and a Sainsbury in Garstang.
The only downside was there was no motorhome waste point unless you had a very long pipe.
Will certainly use again

This is an excellent site in many ways, the staff are very friendly and cant do enough for you. The site seems to have many guests that return time and time again as we do, there is a pub/restaurant on site serving great food at realistic prices, the toilet and shower block cannot be faulted.
There are also 4 small fishing ponds which can be fished. Will be returning many times in the coming months. There is some train noise but doesn't spoil the overall experience.

We have just got home from a visit to this site and have to say what a lovely site, staff are very friendly and helpful, meals are lovely everything home made reasonable prices to, friendly pub atmosphere, good walks, nothing seems to be to much trouble made us breakfast on our last morning there even though they didn't serve breakfast that morning, shop ok, toilets and shower block very clean. Garstang is a lovely village. Don't know what else to say but excellent and hopefully back for New Year.

We have now been camping for approx 9 years and are member of the Camping & Caravan Club, however we have to say that of all the sites we have ever visited (yes EVER) this is our favourite. It also happens to be the first site we visited!
On our first stay our pitch was directly under the cables between pylons, however, they very quickly pale into insignificance when you take in everything this wonderful site has to offer.
As other people have already written, the shower blocks are immaculate, warm and with Smooth FM piped through. The shop provides good provisions at a reasonable price
The children's' play area is excellent, as is the dog walk, site security and access to local walks.
Apart from the above, what sets this site above the rest for us is the combination of facilities available and excellent management by the owners who are readily accessible if needed (we once had an issue with very some very noisy drunken campers who were dealt with immediately and proficiently) and very friendly. The whole site is the most friendly we have been on, unlike other sites where static owners don't deign to mingle with 'tenters'. You are also offered a choice of pitch if available.
On top of that is the on site pub/restaurant, which this year has a new chef serving excellent homemade food using local produce and even serving 'proper' chips! This is situated in the most beautiful setting, with a beer garden which drops down to the stream where children and dogs can paddle. The owners regularly organise entertainment especially at peak times.
There are also chalets and bed and breakfast facilities which means we can now take mother for the weekend!
Weather permitting, we will be back at October half term.

I took my Family to Claylands. It was our first ever camping trip and to say my wife was apprehensive would be an understatement! We had rain and sunshine and this didn't matter one bit as we had a fantastic time. The facilities are fantastic.
The toilet and shower block is immaculate. The on site pub which serves lovely food and welcomes children in the conservatory area is great. The Childrens play areas on site are brilliant especially the 40ft slide which I did have a go of, (sorry!) kept the children busy in the day.
I would recommend this site to anybody and to top it all off the staff are so helpful. One of the owners took time out to change the channel in the conservatory because we wanted to watch X-Factor and when a car broke down in the rain the same gentleman helped the car owner to start his car up !.
There was 15 of us and next time there will be 30. Thanks so much.

What lovely site this is, camped for 2 nights, used all facilities, toilet & showers were clean, warm and had radio piped in. The shop was not expensive at all for any bits you may have forgotten.
The pub on site has a lovely atmosphere and the drink is reasonable, the food looked good though we did not eat there,
BBQed in thunder & lightening an pouring down rain it passed quickly and the ground was not sodden luckily,
The pillons were a bit noisy (as mentioned in other reviews) but the noise of the motorway was worse. But we got used to it on the second night.
The children's play area looks nice and was always full of kids having a great time, but as its down a hill the noise is not a problem.
There are lots of lovely walks in the area to and the river is just great kids & adults can paddle. All in All a great site will go again
