Perhaps we visited on a bad day, as it was the Tuesday after a bank holiday, but we were not impressed with this site. The charge was more than we had paid anywhere else, yet there were overflowing rubbish skips on site, the dog exercise area was very small and the dedicated dog dustbin there was also full to overflowing with dog waste; there was no hot water in either showers or handbasins at 7 am so we were unable to even have a decent wash. There was a club house but we arrived late and tired so did not visit it, and we left early after only the one night feeling very disappointed. It is convenient for the town, being just a short drive along the road.

Although in a static we used nearly all of the facilities, found the toilets and showers clean and fresh and the site in general was well kept and the views are great as you can see over the valley to Aberystwyth with some of the beautiful architecture it has.
The staff were polite and friendly and prices in the bars and cafe were good. On the negative side the buildings that house the pool and bars are not pretty to see and some of the people holidaying there were rather coarse to put it mildly. Staff wearing t-shirts with 'Security' on them did nothing to enhance a holiday atmosphere but neither did they stop children running around the bars and screaming obscenities at each other, after experiencing it twice it put us and our children off going back. The same children also took over the play area and my youngest was nervous to play there, a great shame for her and also that it was allowed to happen.
The walk into town was a little hilly but only took about 10 mins. Walks at the entrance from the site took you into fields and woody hills and round to the sea wall which has fantastic views from the beach over to town. Whilst we were there the porpoise were close to the beach which was a treat to see.
Aber itself is lovely with fantastic restaurants and good shops, the castle ruins are well kept with a great children's playground at the base.

Don't bother with this site, overpriced for what you get. Pool and facilities only open for 3 hours a day. No entertainment in club house, and too quiet, too small.
Water supply we had to go to by car, same with the washing up. Grass too long before they cut it and not bothered to pick it up therefore you couldn't go out in a good pair of shoes, showers were just off the chill very small cubicles no room to hang your clothes.
On a positive note the showers were clean and quite modern although the tiles were very slippy when wet. It was just a short walk into town.
we have had better sites than this for less than what they charge. There was a small play area but was a bit dated

This was our first camping holiday (been with friends before at other sites - but first in our own tent). Upon arrival, visited reception, really friendly staff, told us to wait for a man in a white van who will take you to your pitch. Only waited 5 minutes and he arrived. Very large pitch and very relaxed as to how you put up your tent. Bonus was no extra charge for 2 cars!
Pitch was very plentiful. Our tent was a zenobia 6 with porch and windbreak and still had loads of room with two cars. We were situated close to the park as having two children aged 9 and 6 they loved this as gave them a little independence. The park was small and dated but my children did not seem to mind nor did we. The pool was more than sufficient and the temperature was fine. Changing rooms were as other reviews stated. The toilet and shower blocks we found clean and tidy and always cleaners on site. There were two washing up areas which were great. The washing machine areas we did not use but seemed reasonably priced. The arcade was great for the children and the camp shop was well stocked especially if you needed any repair items for your tent/mobile home. The club was good and reasonably priced. £3. 00 a pint of carling/fosters - we thought this was ok.
Other reviews mentioned skips everywhere - we saw two however they were enclosed. We found the whole site clean and tidy and would definitely visit again.

Stayed for 5 nights June 2012 2 adults and kids age 2 and 5. Very friendly and nice site but really needs updating. Shop was very reasonable and had a good selection bread, BBQ food, camping stuff, toys etc.
The swimming pool was nice although there is no cubicles just a few plastic chairs to change and 1 open shower. The arcade was good kids had a great time and had a few games of ten pin bowling was £2 per person.
The evening entertainment we only went to once as kids club only started after 8 and my kids were tired. There are lots of things to do in Aberystwyth town - a nice cliff electric railway was just over £10 for us all.
There is a steam train ride but was expensive at over £40 so never went on. At the back of the campsite is a lovely river/stream which is a nice walk. Morrisons is just round the corner and there are plenty of shops in town.
Had a great time, is a lovely place just really needs a overall as a little old and tired.

Just returned from a long weekend at aberystwyth holiday village. Arrived late evening on Friday was quickly guided to our pitch, we where pitched next to friends so managed to have quite a bit of space between us.
There was a shop on site which was well stocked and prices where reasonable! Was an indoor pool - facilities within pool where basic but did the job - however no individual-changing rooms. Little arcade with basic bowling alley - lovely for kids. Didn't try either of the bars so can't comment in those however the cafe was reasonable and food was ok.
The site was very windy and open to the elements.
Was a basic kids park on site which kept the kids amused even if it was basic!
Aberystwyth is a short walk away and Is a lovely little seaside village - the mountain train is lovely.
I'm not sure I would return to this site - the electrics tripped regularly and showers /bathroom weren't the best we have been too. However despite everything we had a good weekend.

Visited with my wife and 2 teenage boys in our tent and we stayed 5 days.
Pitches were large and flat close to either toilet block and showers.
The hook up was a full 16amps.
Site had large shop selling every thing we needed, indoor pool which we used every day. Good entertainment of a night in the large bar (it has a lounge bar as well but we never used it) the kids loved the amusements. The site has a great cafe/chippy selling bar meals and take away.
Walked in to the town one night lots of bars and restaurants. Nice sea front.
Overall good site, big pitches, very clean toilet and showers. Nice facilities. Nice area to visit. Would recommend and hopefully return soon.

Stopped over night passing through Aberystwyth and then returned 4 days later for 2 more nights.
The site was well maintained with lovely toilet blocks and lots of hot water in the showers.
Very good motorhome service point for top up of tanks, emptying waste etc.
Nice shop and laundrette (we didn't use the bars or pool)
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The site is dog friendly with a dog walk and river to let the dog off its lead.
Great walking along the public footpath opposite the site entrance bit of a hill but great views and well worth a look as you can walk for miles.
We will be taking our grandson back in the school holidays as the site caters well for kids.

One night here only!
Very bland unattractive site. Very close to town is the only benefit. Haveing said that was not impressed with Aberystwth either. May be we did not give it a chance.
Expensive for staying out of season with nothing open! (not that we were staying for the entertainment!)
Toilet block not the best, tired and dated, not over clean. The super large skips dotted around for your rubbish were not the most attractive things to look out upon! Full of all sorts of rubbish including mattress's! Could see the Library lit up at night which WAS rather nice.
Good shop on site selling camping equipment, not sure if connected to site.
Do not not think we would return.
Could be a great site if looked after

Arrived mid-afternoon, reception closed but well stocked shop open and booked us in. Friendly welcome, site rather depressing, choice of pitches, £20 with electric. Some evidence of previous flooding (silt on roadway). Rubbish in skips, two unlidded. Bracing walk to Aberystwyth, but only takes max 15 mins. Showers clean and spacious but oh so cold, no one around evening to report. TV reception good. Bar and pool closed, making £20 fee expensive. Shower temperature reported in the morning and very quick apology given but that was all. Very faded Camping and Caravanning Club sign exhibited and claimed to be listed, however C&CC confirm they are not. Price charged should reflect the facilities available. I don't think we will return.
