We've just come back from our second trip out to this site.
The site has very good facilities, 2 clean toilet & shower blocks (although no soap), children's entertainment and play area.
The site did flood slightly when it was wet but dried out fairly quickly once the sun came out.
The food at the clubhouse was cheap and very nice.
We would definitely book there again.

Just returned from a very strange weekend at this site, first of all it was bank holiday weekend and the sun shone all the time! That said, I cant put my finger on what was wrong with this site but something was definitely not right!
We had originally booked adjoining pitches with friends who were travelling from the other side of the country, but were not put together, it was only lucky that we arrived first and managed to nab the pitch next to us.
The toilet block was very clean, had lots of loos - 10 I think, but no hand washing facilities by the loos, you had to swim past the 4 showers to wash your hands and then with only water, no soap provided! very odd. The showers were hot, but 2 had a dribble of water whilst the other 2 were ok, but very hot with no way of regulating the temperature.
The washing up facilities were rubbish, 3 sinks on the camping field, one with cold water, one with a plug that didn't fit, and one that worked fine, you can imagine the queues at washing up time.
My final gripe about the site is that once again on bank holiday weekends we were squashed in like sardines, lots of music and people enjoying themselves, so not much space for the kids to play, but by 11pm everyone was quiet and people seemed to be very good.
Lots of bad points, but we still had a really good weekend, we were however up at 7am to get a decent shower and to wash up but hey ho, the sun shone and the wine was cold - only because we paid 30p per iceblock to keep them frozen from the shop freezer though!. The kids said the pool and the arcades were were ok.
Owners seemed helpful but when we commented about the cold washing up point, they told us it was fed from the same supply, but they would get someone to take a look, still cold when we left though! For a weekend away it was ok, wouldn't like to be there for the week though.
Excellent access to the river for the kids to go fishing if needed and the centre of town was about a 10 min walk (very nice stroll down the hill and over the white suspension bridge) which was much better than trying to find a parking space in town.
Went for a carvery at the Tides restaurant in town, must be tried, it was up by the pier at the top end of town - fantastic, £8.95 per adult, for your main course (lower for children but not sure by how much) £4 odd for starters and desserts, but what a fantastic place and a first class meal, lots of choice of meats and vegetarian options along with fish dishes, very cosmopolitan, we are all good eaters and none of us could manage a dessert!
Finally, would I go back. Yes, site is fit for purpose, but with a bit of tlc it would be brilliant.

Mixed opinions of this site, good points are staff were friendly and helpful enough, swimming pool was clean, shop well stocked and not expensive imho
Bad points showers were very hit and miss either very hot or freezing cold, the single shower in the swimming pool was fine though. Kids park could do with a overhaul, and our hard standing pitch felt like we were on a car park.
The club was empty on the friday when we went in, the entertainer looked like he had given up and was just sat behind the dj box
Overall the site was ok for the bank holiday weekend

We stopped here for the Easter weekend and we had a great time, A nice site toilets and showers were very clean,we had a good sized pitch which we were shown to.
The club is not a bad size entertainment was good. The DJ was excellent with the kids he had the patience of a saint !
Swimming pool is a good size and was warm.
The walk into aber is about 10 mins but a nice stroll, on the way down the hill call into the fountain inn a lovely little local and we had a good reception there.
Would certainly stop here again,

We spent a week here during August and had a pretty good time (apart from the weather!). My five children loved the site as it had everything they needed including a nice clean indoor pool and a large arcade area with pool tables and bowling alley. They also have a gym onsite for any fitness fanatics, I didn't need to use it as the walking I did was enough.
We stayed in a tent with no electric but there are hook up facilities on site, there is also a small playground for the kids and a sheltered washing up area for us campers.
The site shop is well stocked with food and camping gear, the food is a little pricey but there is a morrisons, lidl and somerfield supermarket within 5 minutes by car. The entertainment on the site resembles a haven or butlins type site, cheesy show for the kids but they love it and a singer or group later on for the adults. One night during our stay the singer didn't turn up but they didn't leave us without entertainment, the resident DJ took the stage and created a show for us.
The cafe was very reasonable and my kids could not eat all of the food on their plates most of the time.
I cannot praise the staff on the site highly enough, nothing seemed too much trouble and they were all very friendly, they often stopped for a chat and told me where I could take my family for a day out. My son, who is epileptic suffered a fit while in the arcades with his brother, cousins and sister, the security officer found me within a minute and when I got to my son one of the site owners was with him looking after him. The security officer was also very good at keeping the site 'family friendly' as he would not allow anyone to smoke in forbidden areas or use foul language.
If I have to pick any faults it would be the lack of soap dispensers in the shower blocks which, by the way were clean, adequate and FREE!
Aberystwyth is a lovely town and well worth a visit, less able people should be aware it is very hilly, I lost half a stone while on holiday! The locals appear to be very welcoming and the town has a lot to offer, including a variety of bars and restaurants. There are many other towns not too far away by car should you wish to travel.
I would definitely visit this site again and would recommend it to anyone who wants an entertaining and safe family holiday.

Just back from a few days at this site (Tuesday to Sunday) have to say it was a good site overall.
A couple of minor gripes - bread in cafe was hard and popular beers sold out - I realise it is end of season but they charge us peak season rates so we should expect the same service.
The camping fields are flat and grip the tent pegs well - watch out for one field which seemed to be flooded even when the other fields were dry. Staff are friendly and approachable and always ready to offer extra help to me (disabled)
There were ample facilities to keep the kids amused in bad weather if you want to keep them inside. You don't even need to leave the site if you don't want - the shop sells everything including souveneirs and presents! We used the site as a base really and went off to local attractions and beaches in the day - definitely recommend Devil's Bridge but be sure to wear sensible shoes!
As with most sites the other people on the site are what create your impression if you aren't careful - some of our fellow campers showed little if any respect for the facilities which was a shame. But we have been camping long enough now to know that this is nothing to do with the site and the facilities were cleaned several times during the day and any problems were sorted within minutes (can't say that about many campsites)

Just spent bank holiday weekend here. The week prior to us going it had rained a lot and a lot of the camping fields were flooded consequently tents and caravans were all squashed on to the dry-ish areas. They did very well to fit us all on but it was very cramped. I could hear every word our neighbours said and am only grateful they didn't decide to get amorous as I would have had a lot of explaining to do to my 7 year old! shop was ok but sold many items in bulk (who wants to buy a pack of 21 pan scourers on holiday?). They did provide a freezer to refreeze freezer blocks but charged 30 pence each block. I discovered the only way to get a hot shower was to get up at 6.30am or go at 8pm at night. Rubbish skips were full to overflowing all weekend - not very pleasant especially for the family who had to camp 1 meter away from it (yuk!). Bar was ok and reasonably priced. Pool was good a little cold but offered the luxury of a hot shower afterwards so worth it. Not really my sort of site as too commercial and busy, no space for kids to play ball games etc. Staff were polite and helpful.

We have just spent 5 days at this campsite 4 adults and 4 children. All site staff are very polite and helpful. The site was busy but there was plenty of room and if you require a non-electric pitch you can choose anywhere you like. The toilets and showers are very clean although there is not much room in the showers for hanging clothes & towels.
The on site arcade gave the kids something to occupy themselves during some very wet weather with pool tables, air hockey and a 4 lane bowling alley at only £2 per person. The cafe is very reasonably priced, serving a good selection if you don't fancy cooking and there is even and carvery served on Sunday's for £4.75. The shop is well stocked, not expensive and sells camping equipment for anything you may have forgotten.
We only spent one night in the club, drinks were average price and the kids enjoyed the disco - the DJ was very good at getting them all up to do the party songs. The indoor pool is very nice with a life guard on duty and seating area for anyone not wanting to swim.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk into town or there is an car park on Park Avenue opposite Matalan where you can park all day for £2.20.
In town there are lots of interesting shops and cafe's. We would definitely recommend the JD Wetherspoons situated next to the railway station where you can get a very nice full English for £2.79 and the evening meals are very good too. We had a lovely trip on the Vale of Rheidol steam railway which goes from Aberystwyth up to Devils Bridge, the journey takes an hour and if you brave it in the rain (like we did) do wrap up! There is a cafe at Devils Bridge where you can get a hot drink, sandwiches, cakes & souvenirs. A very enjoyable holiday and beautiful place to visit - recommended!

Just spent a very disappointing week at this site! The facilities are ok as in washing up / showers / toilets and utilities for waste etc; and the swimming pool / arcade / night club etc were a great hit for the kids.
Shop is well stocked but a little on the pricey side.
The downside (apart from the weather) was that there is no organisation to where you can and cannot pitch. We arrived and had a lovely spot and then a huge family group turned up with noisy dogs and the need to listen to their music very loud. This group decided to pitch on top of us leaving a gap of 2 ft so we could get in and out of our awning. Went to reception to complain - nothing was done about it - although staff agreed they were pitched too close which made me mad.
The field we were on was also prone to flooding after one night of rain the awning became a swimming pool. Aberystwyth is a lovely town and within walking distance from the site. We did the railway to Devils Bridge shame it ended up raining again so the kids never got to appreciate Devils Bridge or the Red Kites that frequently fly around. Needless to say I like Aberystwyth but not this site.

Just spent 3 days at this site. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice site, staff at reception very helpful and pleasant. Nice flat area to pitch, no restriction on tent size.
Good sized, well stocked shop, not too pricey. Swimming pool very clean and an attendant present. Toilets and showers spotless. Agree with other comments regarding lack of soap in toilet block, but this is just a minor criticism.
The club on site, very reasonably priced, though not sure if they make any money? Nobody was in it! Good little restaurant / canteen on site, also does take away if you get fed up cooking.
Aberystwyth itself was OK, but further down the coast in Newquay was lovely. This is where you can see the Dolphins. This site is great if you have a bigger than average tent and have kids, they will love it. Thoroughly reccomended.
