Just spent 3 days at the site. Site was quiet due to the kids being in school so we had a good chance to look around. The site appears to be geared up for the school holidays, bathing pool only open at weekends until July and the bar was dead in the evening. This didn't bother us as we had no children with us.
The site was kept spotlessly clean, no complaints about toilets and showers. We had no need to visit the reception but the lady in the shop put us wise as to what was going on. Found the prices in the shop reasonable.
The town was only 10 mins away. Took a drive up to Devils Bridge not really impressed, suppose the trip by train worth while just to look at the scenery. If you go by car don't park in the railway car park as they charge, you are best to go around the corner to the falls car park its free. As for Aberystwyth the great thing we noticed is that its spotless along the prom, the beach could do with a tidy, lots of old cinders from barbeques along the beach nearest the marina, and a lot of seaweed washed up along the main beach. I have seen tractors with rakes abroad this is all it would take to tidy the beaches up. We would definitely visit the site again.

What a gem of a campsite for anyone with children. It's 'Haven' on a small scale - so small you could 'safely' let your children have some freedom. No groups of youths - just families. We stayed til 4pm on day of departure for no extra cost. Toilets and showers immaculate, fields level and free of any cuttings. We were pitched in the centre of 1 field so had no immediate neighbours - bliss! Never kept awake by any noise although the clubhouse was open til midnight. No 'gimmeky' kids shop in club - so not persuaded to buy silly hats and things which cost a fortune. Part of the site is residential but not made to feel unwelcome by anyone. Aberystwyth just 10 mins walk away - marine, pier, beach, shops, crazy golf, brilliant play park. No charge to park on seafront! Also Aberearon is a must - so is New Quay. 3 hour drive from Manchester through some fantastic scenery - not your usual 'Rhyl' or 'Towyn' - dont go if they are your idea of a holiday. This is like stepping back in time with just a beach shop and ice cream parlour on sea front. We would definitely go back - 9 out of 10 for campsite.

We stayed here over the Spring Bank Holiday in our new tent. The site was great and we were given 2 pitches alongside the hedge in the far field. The field was being used by mainly caravans so can't really give an overview on the pitch size, the pitches aren't marked though.
We used the shop, clubhouse and pool on our stay. The shop is great it sells amongst other food items, fresh milk and papers, also loads of camping and caravanning equipment, you can freeze your iceblocks for 30p each and you can hire 3 of their frozen ice blocks for around £2.00. The pool was a good size but a little on the cold side. Clubhouse was good, we played bowling which was £2.00 per person and the amusement arcade keeps the kids occupied. We ate in the clubhouse on Sunday evening, jacket potatoes, pizzas and Kebab which were all good, Monday morning we had cooked breakfasts which were great.
There is loads to do in the surrounding area and Aberystwyth is great, plenty of eating/snack/pub places and the beach is great too.
Only negative comment I would make and it is just really nit picking but there is no soap in the washrooms and the wash up area is open at the sides so if you have gusts of wind like we did at the BH it made do the washing up a real chore.
We would definitely recommend this site and would go back again.

Have stayed here in a campervan and camping in a tent 2005. Stayed April 2007 in my Bambi camper and loved it. Took my 11yr old grandaughter. We used the swimming pool, amusement arcade and clubhouse, which put on an excellent show and catered for youngsters with dancing and disco. Most clubhouses are expensive but this one not too pricey. It has adjoining snackbar, which is convenient. Onsite is a shop which sells everything, a laundry and washup facility, spotless toilet and shower block with plugs for hairdryers. There is also a sluice for portipotties on site. It is flat and spacious but does have a stretching hill entrance to the site. The town is a 10 minute walk away and Aberystwyth is a good base to vist other seaside resorts like Aberaeron and Newquay. For pretty scenic secludesd ares you can access Cwm Tudu and Mwnt. I intend to return and recommend this campsite

Good value for money even in summer holidays. Clean toilets and showers. Good washing up area.
The evening entertainment was good even though the club was quite small and if you didn't arrive early enough you had to stand.
Swimming pool was okay and clean.
Only a 10 minute walk from Aberystwyth centre.
The worse thing was the hill you had to walk up to get to the main road, we had 2 pushchairs! It kept us fit though.

This site has great facilities, with free plug sockets for hair dryers etc. Next to good size mirror in ladies toilet blocks and free hot showers. When we were there we never had to queue as there were 2 blocks.
The cafe was a little restricted in its menu, but Aberystwyth was only a 10 minute walk away where there would be a much larger choice for food and evening entertainment if you want it. I agree with one of the previous posts that the play area was limited but only a short walk away in Aberystwyth's park. I don't know it's actual name(cross the stream at the far end of the park, follow the path left, cross the road and the bridge over the railway, take the path to the left through the park) there is a fantastic playground that is well worth the short walk and should be mentioned on the web site. There's a freezer in the shop for campers to use for ice blocks, but unfortunately we didn't notice this until the last day! The only minus is the lack of soap not only in the toilet blocks but in the bars too - I don't usually carry a bar of soap in my pocket! I definitely recommend this site and wish we could have stayed longer.

Spent five nights at this site Wednesday to Monday August bank holiday. On the whole found the site to good. Toilet block and showers cleaned regularly. Arcade OK for those who want to use it. Found the food to be good in the chippy/cafe. Used the clubhouse on the Wednesday evening we arrived bar room and entertainment room were fine and the entertainment for the kids was basic(DJ playing games) and singer was good. Only criticism I have is that the price of a half pint of squash and tap water was a £1 and with four kids that don't like coke, we found expensive for tap water. Site was well maintained and the owner on hand from early till late. Staff were polite. Kids park needs a major revamp with a mix of little and bigger kids items. Shop on site is great stocks most everyday items and a good selection of camping/caravaning gear and other bits and pieces. Didn't use indoor pool so can't comment on that. As expected the site got a little crowded over the bank holiday weekend, but saying that it was well managed with people being shown to pitches and a tidy distance between pitches being kept, it also didn't get that noisy with lots of people there. Site is in a good spot within 20-30 minutes walk of the town and beach with 4 kids. Beach is not sand but small stones and pebbles and can get quite windy even if calm at the site. Overall Me,Mrs and the kids enjoyed our stay and will go back again . Hope this review helps fellow campers.

Have just spent seven days at the holiday village with my wife and 2 children (8 and 4). The site is very clean including the toilet and shower facilities, it was quite a busy week but the tents/caravans was spaced out quite generously. There is a small playground with a grass/sand base including two slides and a swing.
It is a very short walk to Aberystwyth town centre also Borth, Clarach and Devil’s Bridge are only a short drive away. The entertainment in the club is very good, the kids loved the party hour, 7ish to 8ish, then there is one game of bingo (£2 a ticket) and a different singer on every night after that (all good acts). The bottles of Carlsberg are still £1.20 a bottle and a pint of Carlsberg costs £2.50 with Bitter 10p cheaper. There is also a large amusement arcade that has lots of games/machines for the children to play on. The shop is well stocked and very reasonably priced for its location. We did not use the café so can not comment on the food but we did have the odd tray of chips in the club and at £1.20 they was very nice. The
laundry room is on the small side with two washing machines (£3.00 a cycle) and two dryers (£1 for approx’ 18 min’s) but I would not recommend the dryers, as they are not the best. There is an independent launderette on the way into Aberystwyth that is slightly cheaper, it was about a five-minute drive. The site was quiet at night and security was always visible. In summary it was a very good site and would highly recommend it and I will absolutely be returning in the future.

Just spent a week camping at this site. Lovely site shame about the organisation of the pitches as there doesn't seem to be any. On arrival at the site be booked into reception as usual to be told that we must follow a guy in a red van to our pitch. He then drove across the field until he came to a spot in the middle and stopped and that was our pitch. Later that day he passed us again with a camper van and tried to fit it between us and another large 8 man tent. My other gripe is about the electrical hookups our connection was always tripping when someone connected up to our little bank of sockets and as this site is popular with tourist caravans and campers it meant everyday it would trip and have to be reset. But apart from that a generally good site with good facilities, a nice shop and entertainment, well illuminated at night (almost to well, serious light pollution from the clubhouse) and very nice staff at reception. My advice to campers in particular would be to avoid the centre field if possible as we witnessed serious flooding after nightly downpours and one poor soul had a small river running through their tent in the morning.
