What a delightful little campsite. The owner was very friendly, chatty and helpful, made us a cuppa while we pitched our tent and regularly on hand for any enquiries. The folders of walks and local places of interest were really handy. Toilets and showers were scrupulously clean and the little outhouse for shelter in bad weather was a lovely touch. Lovely and peaceful apart from the jets flying down the valley! Pity we couldn't stay longer but it would be nice to be able to return. The only problem we had that made our break a little disappointing was the massive ladder like stiles on the hills made them inaccessible to our dog who couldn't climb over them. The steam train and the forest walks however were lovely and the beach was ten minutes away. A great place, if the council could sort out the access to Snowdon we would be happy.

This was a little gem! The facilities are far superior to a lot of campsites I have visited and the owners seem to have thought of everything to make things better. The showers were so well thought out and lots of notes around the place to help you out. Wi-fi is available and free. The washer and dryer were a blessing and very cheap to use. The books available and walks were also great. There is a bus stop which I used from just outside the site and the Welsh Highland railway was fab! Am hoping to visit again within the next week.
Yes, only downside is the midges but you have to expect these little pests certain times of the year and don' let it spoil the perfect setting.

Excellent little camp site, The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities were scrupulously clean with hot showers included in the pitch price, which was very competitive. As we were the only tent there for the first couple of days we had 3 toilets, 2 showers, 2 washrooms and 2 washing up sinks all to ourselves, luxury.
There is a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and electric kettle available for campers’ use for a reasonable charge (left in an honesty box).
The use of the freezer with no extra charge was invaluable as we had sunshine the whole week we were there and were able to keep our ice packs frozen.
The view from the site was stunning with the mountains just across the road. Being able to see the Welsh Highland Railway train from the tent was a bonus especially as one could flag it down from a halt very close to the site. There is also a bus stop just across the road.
With the nearest shop being a short drive away it’s best to make sure you have everything you need with you.
The only downside, which is in no way the fault of the owners, was the midges which were a real pain in the early morning and evenings(which is why the overall rating is 9/10 rather than the 10 it would otherwise deserve).
Altogether though, we would recommend Silver Birches to anyone who likes a peaceful site with the sound of birdsong and sheep, rather than someone else’s taste in music.

If your looking for a nice, quite peaceful place to camp in Snowdonia, visit this site. No screaming kids or any loud louts allowed! The owners are very welcoming, provide great facilities, clean and free shower/washrooms. Pitches are well spaced out, The owners have also created a folder stuffed full of walks to try. The Ranger path is about 2 mile away form this site for a slightly quicker way up to Snowdon, This was my 3rd visit here, hope to visit again very soon.

We're just back from 3 nights here - our third visit. It's a very small, perfectly formed campsite, basically a handful (13 or 14) of pitches arranged along the drive up to the house. Even though the pitches are small, you don't feel hemmed in as the pitches are arranged on different levels. We've visited before when it has been full and it still doesn't feel too crowded.
The owners are super friendly and helpful & the site is very, very quiet. No children allowed and the surroundings just seem to make you feel calm and relaxed. I always feel any stress fall away when I arrive here. In fact, for our last two trips here we've intended to do some long walks, but have felt too mellow to bother. However, if you do want to walk, the Ranger track up Snowdon is close to the campsite and is one of quieter routes up.
The facilities are good - two showers, 3 toilets and a washroom. There is also a campsite kitchen which has everything you could possibly need. A hairdrier, tumble drier, kettle, book-swap, routes for local walks and more local tourist information than you would ever need.
All in all, a very relaxing, friendly site.

This campsite was so peaceful, they have a no noise policy which is fab ! Ideal for us walkers who like to relax after a long day. The toilets and showers are basic but very clean, has washing up facilities and in a little garage next to toilet block you can use the freezer or use washing machine and tumble dryer for a small fee that you put in the honesty box. Cant fault this site at all and will defo be returning
Also in the garage the owner has made out laminated walks for the local area which where most helpful if you want to get out and about.
Not much in the local area, nearest shop is about 2 miles away and pub about 3 mile, no mobile reception but the owner will let you use the wi fi.

Silver Birches is a little gem. The location is spectacular, a little out of the way, but that's why it's so charming. There's not much around in Betws Garmon, so plan ahead if you need essentials.
Facilities of showers, loos, wash-up facilities all included in the tariff, and additional facilities of washer, dryer and microwave all for a very small additional charge.
Small site, so never queued for use of any of the facilities. Only one minor criticism is that the showers are in need of a little TLC or modernisation, but, at the end of a hard day's exploring in the mountains, what you want is a good hot shower and that's what you get.
We had a lovely weekend at Silver Birches, and we intend to spend many more there!

We stayed for 2 nights the week after Easter and had the entire site to ourselves.
This is a fantastic small site and on arrival we were made welcome and Marion gave us a complete tour of the facilities which are top notch; Consisting of immaculately clean, toilets, wash rooms and showers. Can't fault it!
Great value for money
Like most of the area there was no mobile phone reception which turned out to be a blessing.
Located 2 miles from the Ranger Path and 2 miles to the nearest pub. What more can you ask for.

We have started here a few times, both in a tent and campervan. The site is nice and quiet and is for adults only. It is convenient for access to most of the mountains in North Wales for people wanting to walk/climb. Even in high season this is an affordable site, costing us £15. 50 for 1 night including hook up.
The facilities are always clean, even in wet weather. The campers side of the garage was useful for hanging our wet coats in for an hour or so to drip dry!
The midges can be bad, however we have only experienced this on one occasion on a damp morning with no breeze.
There is now Wi-fi access available, this was great for checking the weather forecast to plan our walk the following day, the password is provided upon request.
Ian and Marion are very helpful, from prompt responses to emails when booking, to the loan of a battery charger.

What a great little site! We stayed for 6 nights during August with the aim of checking out what North Wales has to offer as well as climbing Mount Snowdon! Ian and Marion were both very helpful and always happy to chat / answer questions.
The walking guides that Ian had put together were great and we will def be back to the camp site in the future so that we can enjoy some of them!
Facilities were excellent, all kept very clean and I never had to queue for a shower etc. The tumble drier is a bonus with the unpredictable welsh weather! The wi-fi is also great to have, meant we could plan our trips out much more easily!
If you are on an EHU pitch you are right on the road (although 20ft above it) but the noise is minimal at night.
Will definitely return to this site in the future!
