We have just returned from our holiday at Silver Birches and we don't want to say too many good things about it in case it gets difficult to return other year when its too busy! The owners are very friendly and helpful. They provide a weather forecast each day and have loads of information about the area. We managed to use the bus which stops just outside the site. The facilities were good -always very clean and tidy - washing up liquid, shower gel and soap provided! Showers were free and there was even a free hair drier available. It was an ideal base for sight seeing and walking. The views from the site are lovely and although it is close to the road there was never any problem with noise.

This small, adult only, well run site within Snowdonia National Park was a real find. There are just 13 pitches for tents and small motor-homes only. The site is clean and well laid out to provide good sized pitches. The facilities comprising 2 showers, 3 toilets, 2 washrooms and dish washing room are excellent and are kept spotlessly clean. We really appreciated little extra touches like the shower soap, hand washing soap and washing up liquid provided by the owners. There is no extra charge for using showers. The owners provide daily weather reports, information about local shops and services and maps for local walks. We did the 5.5 km circular walk from the site which took us through woods, across fields and moorland and we saw some spectacular scenery. We would highly recommend this site and very much hope to visit again

Spent six nights camping here, lovely clean and quiet site. Our two dogs were made to feel most welcome, which does make a change to some sites. No dog-walk as such on site, ( to small) but plenty walks near by. Showers and WC spotless, they even provided shampoo and washing up liquid! One word of Caution the local midges are Evil so go well prepared, unlike us!

Spent two nights here, trying out our new tent and getting back into camping after a few years out. Site is very clean and friendly, Ian & Marion are very helpful and approachable. A very small site this just made it very cosy. Next to a main road although the traffic at night is very minimal, our pitch was one of the closest to the road (we picked it) and we slept like logs. Big tents like ours needed a slightly bigger pitch so I'd suggest warning Ian & Marion when booking (pitch 10 is good). We will be back soon.

This is a small picturesque site with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Very clean washing facilities, plenty of tent pitches but only one or two motorhome pitches. Not realy suitable for children, great for campers who like walking. Transport needed for shops, Very pleasant and friendly couple running the site who make you feel very welcome, doing an excellent job considering it is only their first season.

It's a nice little site with very friendly owners. It is near to the road but don't let it stop you- it's dead quiet. Everything is clean and adequate. Views are quite good. It's small and if you have the right "neighbours", a real peaceful idyll. We did on two nights but then a huge tent arrived that was way too big for its pitch and we felt a bit encroached upon. Apart from this it was lovely. No children. Great walks. Nice people. No pubs in walking distance but a few driving distance. Phone box next to site, bus running by, Snowdon Ranger Path v. Close, Beddgelert 10 mins away, Caernarfon about 15, Llanberis 20 mins. There is a hairdyrer in the loos- v handy for girlies staying that bit longer.

A lovely little site. We were met and welcomed by the owners with a cup of tea, which was just what we needed. Nice stream and peaceful surroundings. Very clean, nice showers and toilets. Great location for climbing Snowdon on the Snowdon Ranger path. We will defo return.

A very pleasant site, but surprisingly small. Though that was not a problem at all. On arrival we were greeted with complimentary coffees, a nice touch after a long journey! Our ground was quite uneven, but was not a major disaster, and Marion made it known it was an issue they will get round to tackling.(they have only owned the site for a few months, and obviously have yet to get all as they would like it) There were 3 loos and 2 showers, looking at other site reviews, this is I think would be considered to have very good washroom facilities. However I must be fussy, I would have hoped for better. But saying that it wouldn't stop me from returning. There is a decent set up for washing up, and overall the facilities were v. Good.

We spent two nights here on our first tenting holiday and found it to be an extremely peaceful and relaxing place. The new owners, Ian & Marion were very welcoming and knowledgeable on the local area; and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The site itself is small but the pitches are large and all have fantastic views of the mountains. There is a stream at one edge of the site which is ideal for cooling bottles, tins etc. And a there is a picnic area where you can sit down to eat and drink if you wish. We'll certainly be returning to this little paradise.

We loved this site. It's cosy and small but has everything you could want. The owners Ian and Marion make you feel so welcome and can't do enough for you. The site caters mostly for walkers with smallish tents so it was a bit of a squeeze getting our huge thing onto the pitch, but we managed. We talked to just about everyone on the site , some who had been to the site before. Everyone said what a lovely site it is. The toilets and showers are very clean and there was lashings of hot water. Recycling is encouraged. I think a freezer on site would be a benefit as well as washing machine and drier. The midgies at night were the only things to spoil an otherwise exceptional site.
