Had a good week on this very small but well kept site at the end of August this year.
The owners couldn't be more helpful as has already been stated on this site in previous reviews. Help from them erecting our new tent in the pouring rain and a cup of coffee with biscuits to cheer us up! Plenty of local information available to campers with good sound advice regarding when it's good to do some climbing too.
The site was very tidy and didn't show any evidence of the awful summer we've had.
We were next to the road and although there was road noise not particularly disturbing. Managed to get between 8 and 9 hours sleep every night anyway.
Toilets are adequate although looking a bit tired. Free showers with continuous hot water and even some free soap etc available.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday but found the location a little far out for us. We like to be rural but prefer to be in walking distance of a shop. If only a newsagents. However there are two very good supermarkets within a 20 minute drive.

My wife and I stayed at Silver Birches for 3 nights at the end of August. Warm welcome with tea and biscuits from Ian. Very picturesque site in a lovely location. Showers and Loos very clean and well maintained.
Would definitely recommend to couples looking for a quiet site with easy access to Snowdon and surrounding area.
Thank you Ian and Marion for a lovely short break, we will return, hopefully when the weather is slightly better

Great secluded site with great views. Ian (Owner) very friendly and nothing too much trouble.
Nice touch for walkers - the owners have made available details of walks that you can borrow. For rainy days (which there are several of in Wales), there are a selection of books to read or swap.
Facilities are basic but very clean and more than adequate. Great idea all pitches are allocated prior to your arrival and marked with your name so you can see exactly where to pitch no matter when you arrive.
We were on pitch 3 which was quite soggy, but it had been raining heavily. Ian did offer us some boards to lay down if we needed them, but you could also see where effort had been made to drain the ground.
We recommend this site and would happily return if we are holidaying in the area again. In fact , the couple next to us were on their 5th stay!

- Breathtaking scenery of forested hill slopes and sky-scraping mountains towering all around. Pretty river gushing nearby.
- Very welcoming owners, helpful information centre in garage. Good pot washing areas and nice FREE showers in house.
- Bargain at £9.50 a night!
- Fairly small site, but just how I like it! Plenty of space between pitches and flat ground.
- Not many facilities nearby, but we walked along the road by the river up to a reservoir, and saw waterfalls on the way.

We couldn't find anything wrong at all with this site except the weather and that was only bad for 2 days. The owners are friendly and the site is well kept. The facilities were good and clean and the setting is just beautiful. Although the site is close to the road there is minimal traffic and we heard none at night. This site is definitely on our list of places to go back to.

I cannot add any additional information, only confirm the other reviews.
We booked our next visit before we left!
And now to put you all off - if you love real ale this is not a good site - 3 days without a good pint!
If you like a club and somewhere where things are happenin' you'll not like the site either.
Weather making machine is broken, so that is unreliable too.
Yup we loved this site. So did our Baby Teddy Bear, so next time the whole bear family is going too.

Having stayed at the site last weekend I must say it was lovely.
The weather was not so good but the views more than made up for that.
The facilities ie; toilets /showers /washrooms were very clean and well stocked with soap, washing up liquids and toilet rolls. Plus plenty of hot water.
There is also a picnic aera to sit and eat if required.
Ian and Marion are wonderfully nice people, very helpful and friendly.
The site was lovely and peaceful but best no children allowed.
Shaun & I will defo be going back for another stay. Lets hope the weather will be kinder to us next time.
Well done to Ian & Marion.

4 of us stayed at this campsite on the 1st bank holiday weekend in May 2008.
We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy. When we arrived Ian introduced himself and showed us around to the toilet/wash/shower facilities. All indoor and were very well kept. He then showed us to our pitch with a little notice on with our name incase he was not around, there was also a map near the house to guide you.
The site is small but you don't feel overcrowded at all. We had loads of space around our tent.
There is a stream in the grounds of the site, someone was using it to cool their beers down! ;) Cars are only allowed on the camping field to load/unload and otherwise are on the carpark in the site - visable at all times. Adults only was a bonus for us as we didn't want kids screaming around as none of us have them.
The static campsite down the road has a stocked shop for alcohol, milk, the essentials.
There is a lake a mile or 2 down the road at the foot of the walk up the ranger Snowdon path and the Snowdon Ranger YHA. We used this as a base to walk Snowdon, there is also a free car park. In Ryhd du (sp?) we had a meal in the pub on our second night which was nice, pretty expensive but it was still good - bookings were being taken for evening meals.
All in all a lovely site and if I need to be back in the area I would use this site.

Stayed here for the August bank holiday weekend. This is quite simply the best campsite I have ever stayed on. Children are not allowed, the toilets, showers and washrooms are spotless. The owners are very friendly, bringing out coffee and biscuits when you are setting up, very welcome after a five hour bike ride. Motorbikes are welcome. There are no children ruining the peaceful atmosphere. There is plenty of hill walking from the site and Snowdon and Beddgelert are just down the road. Did I mention there are no children on site? The only things that lets it down (but only very, very slightly) are the pitches seem to be close together and you can't park your vehicle next to the tent. If you have one of these huge camping set ups I would let the owners know, they may be able to give you one of the slightly larger pitches. The cats are also very sweet. Will definitely be going again.

Stayed at Silver Birches week after Easter, Marion & Ian the owners are a very nice couple who gave us cold drinks while we erected our tent. Made very welcome the site is very well maintained with very clean washing facilities. Better booking pitches with electricity in advance as only 4 hook ups.Great location for exploring Snowdonia. Close to road but no problem with noise from traffic but the sheep & birds woke us up. Early not complaining though. Mountain stream was great for keeping our drinks cool nearest pub about a mile, shops a 5 minute car drive away
