Myself Husband and 4 small dogs stayed at Silver Birches in September. The site was extremely friendly and clean.
The amenities for such a small camp site were excellent. Ian and Marian ensured that you had everything you needed then left you alone but were always available to help.
There are many near by towns if you want a change from the countryside and everything is in easy reach by car.
We had a pleasant relaxing stay and will definitely visit again. One small incident late at night was quickly and effectively dealt with by Marian, who took control of a situation at the first sign that it may have got out of hand. Due to the speedy response there was no disturbance and many of the campers did not even know what had happened.

I stayed here in sept 2009 and had a lovely time it was really peaceful and best of all very cheap compared with other sites within a 2 mile radius.
Ian and Marion were really friendly on arrival and me and my dog were made to feel very welcome and were both very helpful when it came to advice on the local area.
The location of the site is ideal for Snowdon ranger path and 6 miles from Beddgelert. There are some nice walks locally if you have a dog or just fancy a walk by yourself.
The facilities were great very clean and open 24/7. There is a washing machine to which you put money in the honesty box. A book exchange and washing up areas.
One of the best things about the site is there is no mobile phone reception so no one can bother you. There are pubs within a 3 mile vicinity.
All in all a great site with beautiful views and very helpful owners. 5 Stars. Will be back next year.

Great little site for our first soiree into camping. Shame the weather didn't help. Facilities are excellent. Two showers (free), three toilets and three washrooms, along with a campers room, where there is access to a freezer and washing/ drying facilities. Spacious pitches. Parking is separate from the pitches. Overseen by friendly and trusting owners.

From the first look,PEACE AND QUIET!
Pitch position with EHU-lovely,excellent amenities and very clean,Kim +Aggie,(H.C.I.Y.H.)would give Silver Birches 5 *****.I`m sure!
A brew when you arrive is spot-on,especially after a long drive. The tour of facilities by Marion or Ian leaves no questions to be asked.Only --when we can book again!
Central for touring Snowdonia,Anglesey, most of North Wales in fact! Shortly after we arrived,we heard the toots from a train, the Welsh Highland Railway passes the campsite on the other side of Waunfawr Road. There is a courtesy stop just up the road.
One thing I must mention, the Watkin Path,to Snowdon,is very steep ,not for amateurs! You must wear proper clothes when hiking up Mountains!
Waterfalls nearly everywhere, you must take your camera with you!
To get back to Marion and Ian,they run an excellent campsite, friendly but not in your face all the time(unlike other sites!)
Will definitely stay again, but not in midge season !

What a campsite!
I booked this campsite for me and a friend as a base to climb Snowdon. Ian (the owner) greeted us and showed us around the facilities and then to the spot for our tent. He even advised on some routes for the ascent of Snowdon.
The facilities were superb with free showers (nice and hot), 3 toilets and a washing up room. Other facilities included a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a microwave (extra cost except the fridge / freezer which was great for freezer blocks).
There are only 13 pitches which makes this campsite really quaint and there is even a stream on site to chill your beverages!
The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. I have never had a better view from my tent!
I would love to go back and explore more of the area, although not with my Wife and kids as no children are allowed!
Overall I would give this site 10 out of 10.

Lovely friendly little site. Weather was kind for the Friday and Saturday but the heavens opened on Sunday morning, and we (and a few others it seemed) all packed up in double quick time so didn't get to enjoy our usual leisurely Sunday morning. The site is small but perfectly formed with beautiful views. Nice and Quiet - no room for big noisy groups thank heaven - if you like a rowdier site, there are plenty of others in the area to go to. Facilities were good, including plenty of toilets, shower rooms etc., Only request I have is that maybe they would designate one of the loos as 'ladies only'. Nice little book swap area, and information for local places, along with microwave, washing machine, freezer etc., Excellent recycling with everything clearly marked for what goes where. Will stay again without a doubt.

Despite the issues we had with our tent, we had a lovely time at this site. The location so close to Snowdon is great and the 'no children under 15' rule means a nice quite time. The owners couldn't do more for you and were very helpful when we had our tent problems. The facilities were excellent with free showers and hot water for washing up, washing machine, tumble dryer etc.
It's worth investing in some thick steel tent pegs before you go though as the thin pin pegs get a bit of a hammering due to the stones in the ground here.

I cant add much more from other reviews, but they are all correct. The site is set in stunning scenery with some great driving roads and views leading to the campsite. The campsite facilities I would say are second to none as are the two people who run it. Shops and petrol are around 6 miles away. The snowdon ranger path is a short drive down the road if your into walking but is quite a hard path for the novice. Would definitely visit again. (Watch out for the midges out to eat you alive in the evening time).

Just come back from a couple of days at Silver Birches. This site is lovely and well looked after. There are only 13 pitches so it's not noisy or busy, just the way we like it! Showers are free! and the other facilities were great too, lots of information and a book swap scheme. The only downside would be that the site is on the A4085 Caernarfon to Beddgelert road which is not busy but sometimes a little noisy and the midges were quite bad at this time of the year. There are lots of wonderful walks and Ian will let you know where the best ones are.

Brilliant site out in the sticks , Ian and Marion were very helpful and informative for whatever we needed. Washrooms, showers & toilets are clean & more than adequate. Our visit was over the May day bank holiday weekend and the site was full but we didn't have to queue at all. Close enough to visit Portmerion, Anglesey and the Llyn peninsular all in all a great little site in a beautiful setting . If you need a lively clubhouse or to party all night go elsewhere because the site is a quiet one between 11pm and 7am [nobody told the owls] Ian assured us that this is enforced.
