Fabulous campsites! Fabulous location! Fantastic friendly and happy owners. They could not do enough to make sure you had a lovely holiday.
The kids really love this site even though there are no specific facilities in terms of playarea. They just have the space and freedom to do what they want and 'Farmer Gordon' always makes them all feel at home.
The facilities are basic but always clean and functional. Showers are actually a proper room with space to get ready.
The site has the most wonderful location with amazing views overlooking the sea and you can often see Dolphins swimming nearby.
Thoroughly recommend a stay at Nant y Croi.

I can't add much more to previous reviews, the view from the camping field is stunning (bring your binoculars to see the dolphins more clearly), the site is peaceful, farmer is friendly and super helpful. The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean, if a little basic if you are looking for five star luxury! One thing I would update is there are pot washing facilities and two fridge freezers in a unit on the camping field itself so no need to walk up the lane to the farmhouse, as previous reviews say. All in all a wonderful gem of a campsite and I will certainly make a special effort to return, it will be worth it for the views alone.

This is a simple campsite but with stunning wide open views. Kitchen and toilet block are basic but clean.
The showers in the second shower are excellent and as hot and as powerful as showers at home.
The farmer and his wide are friendly and helpful. We saw him escorting large caravans down the narrow country lane that leads to the campsite to avoid awkward encouters with oncoming traffic.
There is a path from the field to the cliff tops where it is possible (at the right time) to see dolphins.
The beach at Mywnt is about 20 minutes walk away across the fields and cliff top. We had this site recommended to us by friends.
We would likewise recommend it.

We stayed here 2 years ago and thought that it needed a little TLC. We returned last weekend and it has had a lot of TLC. Major improvements to toilet and kitchen facilities, all of which were spotlessly clean. We were welcomed to the site by the warden and owner and we had several friendly visits from the farmer. It is after all a working farm and the silage was being cut and gathered which added to the ambiance of the area. Views are fantastic and I have never had such a beautiful view each morning. It is very close to the surrounding resorts. Be careful of meeting traffic in the lane as reversing can be a little painful.

We are from Germany. About ten years ago, we were on Nant Y Croi for two weeks in a self accommodation cottage. Now being back on holiday in Wales (especially to the north) my daughter wanted to see the farm again. My son (which wasn't born the first time) was also very keen. Now we stayed for four days in a tent on the campsite field (wasn't here ten years ago) and what should I say, it's all the same familiar and friendly stay as in the past. The owner is so a friendly farmer, the children liked him from the first day (although my little son can't speak English). The talkings with the owner twice a day, the fantastic sea view from the tent, the wide camping field, the donkeys (which the children can ride one in the evening) and all the other animals are only a few things, which let us resume in the end: From all the campsites in our holiday around Wales, Nant Y Croi was the best one. OK, you have to walk a quite long way to the farmhouse for the daily wash up but all the other things make up for this. The toilet blocks seems to be not enough for the whole site, but we had no waiting times. Also the 4 showers were enough. All was very clean. You can walk through another to fields down to the cliffs, where we were lucky to see dolphins and a seal. Also it's a great walk to the nearby beach of Mwnt with the old church and the hill behind. We preferred walking to Mwnt (with small children half an hour), the way by car is a detour and the frequently used narrow road is very stressful. At Mwnt there is a kiosk and a toilet block. There is no mobile phone reception at the site and also no shop or pub near, but we were most days with the car to visit nearby attractions (Poppit Sands, New Quay, Cardigan) and in Cardigan there are enough shops and also a big Tesco. So we related our phone calls and shoppings with the tours. I can absolutely recommend Nant Y Croi, especially when you are with kids, they will love it there. We will come back for sure some day (but it's a far way from Germany)

What a holiday.
Nant-Y-Croi Farm has got to have one of the best spots in the country. We visited for the August bank holiday intending just to stay just for 2 nights and ended up adding a extra one as we didn't want to leave(our friends stayed even longer).
We arrived early Saturday morning and were greeted by the owner, quick to share a joke from the offset and very happy to stop for a chat on this rounds.
We were directed to the campsite a huge field (gently sloping) with the most amazing view of the sea. We were left to choose our own spot and set up with as much space as needed.
The toilet and shower blocks are located near the entrance to the camping field and are very clean. Some might say a little basic but this is camping it isnt supposed to be 5*.
The owner dropped round on his quad to check we were all ok and was more than happy to take the kids off for a ride on the quad (several times over our visit). He was only to happy to whisk my wife away on the back of the quad to which gave me some peace and quiet to set up the tent.
The weather was fantastic which only enhanced the fantastic views offered by this little hidden gem. The short walk from the camp site down to the private cove gave us a chance to stretch our legs after a long journey and offered even more stunning views (unfortunately we didn't see the seal but were told we had just missed it).
A 10-15 min walk (with small kids) takes you down to a lovely sandy beach (by your buckets and spades at the little shop as the before you walk all the way down the steps). The beach is perfect for little ones to build castles on and the sea has waves big enough for body boarding. Its surrounded on 3 sides by cliffs so the breeze to kept to a minimum. There is a car park at the top which is a 10 min drive from the campsite (single track lane can be a bit of a nightmare at busy times.
There is a large outcrop of rocks (kids called it a mountain) which is fairy easy to climb up and well worth the visit we sat and watched a school of 7 dolphins and a seal for about an hour. They were clearly visible and jumped out of the sea creating a great show.
The campsite by night is very quiet, the toilet and shower block stay light up through the night. Most of the other campers where family's and there were no large loud groups which made it perfect to let the kids run around.
The site has a whole host of donkeys, horses, pigs and dogs that all love a fuss and a carrot. The donkeys are also brought into the campsite for the kids to have a ride on.
If you are looking for a campsite that is set within walking distance of pubs and restaurants then this isn't the one for you. Although they are only a short drive away. Shops are only 5 mins drive away if you do need anything. There is no phone reception on the site what so ever, which made my holiday as normally I would have been checking emails and answering calls.
We have already planned to head back next year as you couldn't wish for more that nant-y-croi has to offer.
You wont be disappointed with your stay

Just returned (reluctantly) from 1 week family camping holiday at Nant y Croi farm. Despite the changeable weather (4 beach days out of 7) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the site.
A beautiful setting near the coast, huge field to pitch where you like and plenty of room for the children to play ball games, fly kites etc.
Most people at the site were families with children, and after dark it was quiet - no drinking with its associated noise. If you are looking for a site near a pub then this is not for you, but if you want to relax and unwind in peace then it is ideal. No phone signal either, but who cares, it's not so long ago that none of us had mobiles anyway.
The nearest shops are a few miles away, but milk, bacon and bbq packs were available to purchase from the farm at reasonable prices. Plenty of bacon sandwiches - delicious!
Facilities were good - toilets and showers were the cleanest I have seen on a campsite. The laundry/washing-up room was a short walk away in the farmyard and we always combined this with feeding the donkeys, horses and pigs - a good way to get the kids to do the dishes without any grumbling!
We enjoyed our daily chats and jokes with the farmer, Gordon. He checked the site several times a day, and was genuinely concerned when the bad weather rolled in - he would have evacuated any family to a farm building had their tent blown down.
The area itself is second to none for nice beaches and other places to visit. The farm even has its own rocky cove a short walk across the fields from the campsite.
My 2 children were both sad to leave Nant y Croi, and my wife and I will miss watching the sunset over the sea until we go back. We intend to return.
I have heard of some people complaining about the price, but that is their problem. For me, to know that my children have had a wonderful holiday - that is priceless.
If a rural camping holiday in a beautiful setting is what you are looking for, then Nant y Croi farm is the ideal place.

This is a very basic campsite, showers etc, but the owners although appear quite formal and cold, are really quite lovely particularly the chap, he comes round on his quad bike giving the kids rides round the farm.
The sea views are beautiful, its a working farm, and the kids are encouraged to go and feed the donkeys / horses, take the puppies for walks.
Its down a long track to get to it, but definitely worth it when you get there.
There are also some beautiful beaches, and shops near by.
It is very quiet and peaceful, although no shop, you can buy bacon, bbq packs from the farm.
Would definitely go back.

Not the easiest of sites to find and the single track past three farms whilst towing a long caravan is interesting, especially when met with cars and farm vehicles coming the other way. We originally booked for eight nights so that we could leave late on our last day, paying for the extra night even though we were not going to be there. However the experience of the track meant we left in the morning as the risk of meeting another caravan coming the other way wasn't worth it.
The facilities were clean and basic, being porta cabin toilets, but not what was expected for the price.
Looking at other reviews I do ask myself what we did wrong, as the only conversations we had with the owners were on arrival and on paying when we left.
We had booked an electric pitch and were a little disturbed to have to wait for an extension lead so that we could be linked into the connection being used by the tent next to us. Concern raised a little more the following day when another tent pitched the other side of us and they to were plugged into the same electric connection via a further extension.
The views from the site are everything people describe and it is a very quiet site. Sorting your rubbish for recycling is nice to see, but a bin for general waste that doesn't fit anywhere else would be really useful.
Strongly recommend the short drive to Poppit sands beach, very clean, good toilets and a great little cafe.
Don't go to this site if you need a mobile phone signal or mobile internet connection as there is none.
Overall a pleasant stay, would I go back? No, but that is as much about the journey as the site.

Myself & husband & dog stayed at this site during mid sept. It was an ideal location for peace & quiet, a 10 acre field, which at the time was not populated with loads of campers. Overlooking cardigan bay sea- tremendous views of coast.
The facilities were adequate & clean. The owners were so helpful & kind. My husband really enjoyed chatting to him with similar interests. We would recommend this site for anyone who likes the country life (the farm had several head of cattle, sheep, donkey, horses)
