Just back from our first visit to Nant Y Croi campsite, which we we really enjoyed. The location is fantastic, with great views out to see and across the coastline. The night we arrived was very windy, which must be common as the location of the farm means its very exposed to the elements. We tucked in behind a hedge to avoid the worst of the gale and cwched up for the night.
It was great being able to walk through a couple of fields and sit on rocks above crashing waves and being able to walk 20 minutes or so to a lovely beach (at Mwnt) is a real bonus.
We found Gordon to be very friendly, full of helpful suggestions when needed. Didn't see as much of Mary but said hello when we did and saw no evidence of the surliness other contributors have mentioned.
Cardigan is a nice town, only 10 minutes drive from the farm, and we found it much less crowded than towns along the coast we visited whilst in the area. There are lots of small independent shops in streets off the High Street and plenty of cafes and pubs.
Other reviews of this site have mentioned that the prices are high and this is true compared to some other sites. During a chat with Gordon he said he was aware his prices are a little higher but that he justifies this by keeping numbers small and facilities good, thereby giving people a good experience that they'll be willing to pay a bit more for.
Overall, a site with a fantastic location, plenty of room, helpful owners and good facilities. I'd recommend it for families and grown-ups alike. We hope to go back soon.

There is not much that can be said that hasn’t already about this site. The adventure starts a mile from site when you enter the single track road at Ferwig. If you are towing, pray you don’t meet a tractor and trailer! Once at site you will find a large sloping field with hook-ups along the top and left hand edges. From almost everywhere in the field you will be able to see the sea. There are toilet and shower blocks in the field (portacabins – but clean) and an adults only shower building across the track. Washing up and laundry facilities are in a room in the farm yard. Gordon and Mary are the perfect hosts. Gordon comes around regularly during the day to ensure all is well and will stop to pass the time of day or offer advice to aid your holiday. We saw numerous examples of Gordon going that one step further to help his guests. Rosie the donkey sometimes makes a guest appearance to entertain (i.E. Carry) the kids around the field. While you can get groceries in Cardigan from Tesco or Somerfield, do try the local produce available from Gordon. We had some meat for the BBQ which was delicious and the Welsh cakes were the best! Via two fields, you can get to the coast from the camping field where you might see dolphins or harbor porpoises. Our kids saw dolphins on our last day while stood by the caravan. Because of its almost basic nature, this site will not appeal to the majority of people, but if you want some quality relaxing camping or caravanning, without the noise of radios or TVs from your fellow guests, then this is the site for you. For that reason, we will be back.

Gordon and Marys site remains one of the best sites we have visited and we have been several times. Views and ambience of the site are amazing. New shower facilities last year are a very welcome addition. Mary isn't brusque at all. The farm is pretty much open house, but this does mean that people should be respectful of their surroundings and especially the animals. Both Mary and Gordon are the nicest hosts you could meet. Everyone looks forward to Gordons 'rounds' and the whole place ooozes in old fashioned ambience. Highly recommended for those campers looking for a simple site where you can get close to nature and experience the true working countryside with spectacular countryside and amazing views. Don't forget your binoculars. Stay more than two days or so in the summer and you are almost guaranteed to see dolphins from your tent door!

Went here for the second time in august, what a beautiful place!
Open rolling countryside with access to watching dolphins off the coast. Facilities are a little basic, but the sit does have electricity hookup (if your lucky enough to get a pitch)
Donkey rides given free on the site and basc essentials can be boought from the farm.
On the downside there are few amenities within walking distance, it is very windy and the sea mist sometimes means your sitting in fog for the first 3 hours of the day!
Owners are wicked and always around to talk to.
Would wholeheartedly recommend this site!

A beautiful site- couldn't get any better for the views of the sea. Glad it isn't commercialised. All the facilities were spot on and the freezers very useful. Gordon is a very friendly chap.
We did however have a down side didn't realise it was £20 a night for 1 tent and 2 people- the most expensive we've paid whilst camping. Also Mary was very brusque we felt she was doing us a favour by allowing us to come and she also shouted at several of the children.

Just returned from our very first camping holiday - a 3 night stay at Nant-y-croi and loved it! The weather was a bit hit and miss - Saturday and Sunday night was really windy and rainy making the already wet field even wetter - however we had a great time. The facilities are good - toilets and main shower block on the field are basic but kept clean, but the new shower block is v nice. Facilities in the farmyard include 2 sinks, plenty of fridges and freezers and washing machines and dryers. If we were being really picky, perhaps another dishwashing area would be helpful as quite often we had to queue, but on the other hand it gave me time to take our 3 yr old boy to see Rosie the Donkey and take her for a walk whilst hubby waited for the sink! You can buy locally produced (and very delicious)bacon, sausage, eggs and milk from the farm. You can also buy bbq packs, made up to whatever you want and there is nearly always a stock of homemade burgers, bread rolls and flavoured sausages anyway. The cakes when available are some of the nicest I've had (hubby loved the lemon meringue) All the food is from a local farm shop and is absolutely delicious!
The views from the main camping field are spectacular overlooking the sea and there is of course the farm to explore. Take some carrots though for the donkeys and ponies! Our little boy thought it was fantastic.
Gordon and Mary are so friendly - you'll see Gordon as he comes and says his good mornings and good evenings on his quad bike and if you see him during the day, he always finds time for a chat. You feel really comfortable that if you had any problems they would be on hand to help and they make a point of saying that if you need to make a phone call you can go to the house as there is no mobile signal.
The surrounding areas are really nice. Having never been to West Wales before it's all new to us but Cardigan was nice and there is a beach you can walk to from the campsite (Mwnt). We also found a nice beach at Aberporth a few miles up the coast. Llangranog is a pretty little cove but get there early as it can be busy.
The campsite seems a little pricey compared to some other campsites you see but it is well worth it for the views, the personal touch and the farm, especially if you have children. We will definitely be going back.

When we got there and pitched up there was plenty of space between us and the people next to us
The owners Gordon and Mary are very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. There is plenty of hot water for dishwashing and showers, the toilets are always clean and tidy
The nearest lovely beach is Mwnt a 20 min walk away and you can see seals on the rocks if you go through 2 fields to a cove.
We love Cardigan the shops are all different with Bakers, Butchers, and markets, makes a change from most high streets.
If the weather is fine you cant beat it but lots of rain and there is not much to do with children.
So a good base for walking, Cycling, Beaches, we will be back next year.

My husband and I visited the farm with some friends and their young children. None of us thought that the site lived up to the reviews. Although the facilities were fine, especially the new shower block, the site did not warrant the charge of £20 per night for 2 adults. There was only one water tap located at the top of the field. Also, there was a long trek out of the main field to the dishwashing, fridge and laundry facilities so we generally boiled our own water. All fine if you are paying a few quid a night - but not £20! The site was not particularly convenient for the beach, town or pub and we had to drive everywhere. We had some fun avoiding the ducks on the lane though.

Hi we have just returned from Nant-y-Croi farm 2 hours ago.
My wife and I and especially our children have had a truly excellent week. It started off with a bit of an 'incident' with our position of the pitch we chose and a freak gust of wind. Which basically snapped 5 poles which resulted in one very '.' wife and 2 disappointed children and one very stressed daddy.
Anyway Gordon and Mary had no room at the inn B&B. So found somewhere not too faraway. Came back to site as soon as we could the morning after. Gordon told us where to go to get some new poles, anyway we got some FREE poles from a very nice man at the Army & Navy store down the road in Sarnau. And set up camp again at Nant Y Croi.
We had some great views across the bay to Cardigan island, we saw seals and other people saw dolphins. This really is a great site, it is just so relaxing.
We were staying for 4 days. Then extended to 7 days. Hubby had to go for a long 8 hours round trip back home to do a bit of work, just so we could stay longer (how fab is Hubby). So me and the girls walked around the farm which is fab, TAKE PLENTY OF CARROTS, to feed the ponies and donkeys. We played games on the site to pass the time while he was away.
All lovely even when it rained. Hubby got back and had fab lovely relaxing time so much to see and do.
The kids get donkey rides everyday. It is a very spacious site, and didnt feel crowded. You have got to go down to the cove and rocks at the bottom of the field to take in the sunset it is truly breathtaking even the girls were impressed. The walk back is funny in the dark amongst the cows.
Wash area Freezers to use and washing machine and dryer . Toilet shower areas basic cleaned I think twice daily Very clean no big queues.
Mary her freshly home baked cakes were fab and both were so friendly, Cery's ( Apologies if spelt incorrectly ) and her brother gordon helpers lovely be going back again 'SOON'.

We've just returned from a wonderful week at the Nant-y-Croi campsite. The pitch was a large field looking out over the sea, there were toilet and shower blocks available at the top of the field with a further two 'adult only' showers just along the track. The showers and loos were clean, but v basic and were regularly cleaned. BIL thought that the site required more loos, but we rarely had to queue. There was fresh produce available from the farm house, the bacon is the best we've ever had.
Gordon came around daily and had a natter, he also took the children out on the quadbike - if you were lucky you also got a ride back to the site from the farm house. There were donkey rides for the children that wanted them, and the only sounds were the cows mooing, donkey braying and the birds on the island.
The views over the sea are spectacular and we were lucky enough to see dolphins just off the coast. The local beaches are great - Mwnt is a favourite although it is a trek up the steps!
A brilliant holiday destination and a fantastic site - we'll definitely be back!
