My husband and I have stayed at this site many times. It is an excellent site. There is a club house on site which has an adult bar, the only downside is that even though it is an adult bar there were children in there, but most of the children were in the main hall. The food is very good.
This site is in an excellent position for the coastal path. We have cycled to Pembrey park and also Swansea from here. As we have a motorhome we like to go to site which are close to bus stops or walking distance to a village. From this site we have walked along the coastal path to Llanelli which has many bars and shops.
The toilets and showers are always clean with plenty of hot water. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Great location for cycling along the Millennium coastal path as it is adjacent to the path which might be why the site is heavily covered by CCTV. Shower and Toilet block was immaculate.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Small shop selling bits and pieces. The bar, swimming pool and soft play area was ok but open to the general public as well as site users.

Ill start with the good points. Lovely position of site right by the estuary. Good facilities, clubhouse, playarea, swimming pool, playpark. We are a regular to this site normally good security, key fobs for loos and barrier to get into site, also security on door of clubhouse.
However, this last visit no key fobs or security on clubhouse door, basically anyone can just wander in. This wasn't really an issue for us. The bad points the site was full of travellers, a number of groups of people drinking and swearing loudly in the middle of the afternoon ( I must add I'm not oppised to drinking in the afternoon quite the contrary).
Also lots of children 10/11 yr olds swearing. We were told previous week a big fight broke out in bar and Police were called, this doesn't surprise at all. Also dogs not on leads. Park rule book just as well be ripped up Will not be returning unless things improve. Such a shame

We stayed at gateway for 10 nights over Easter. We quite liked the site, there is plenty to keep the children entertained even if the weather is bad as their is an indoor pool and play area.
There is plenty on site to keep the children entertained, a play area, crazy golf, and plenty of open space and great views across to the gower.
It's a big site, with a lot of seasonal pitches, the touring and camping pitches are a decent size, we had a hardstanding which we fitted our motorhome and drive away awning on.
Its in an excellent location for visiting the gower, it's approximately 45 minutes drive to Rhossilli bay at the furthest point across the gower all other gower attractions are closer. You are about 5 minutes drive to Llanelli where there are a number of supermarkets, a small shopping centre and an indoor market.
A major appeal for this site for us was being able to get onto the millennium coastal path, you can walk or cycle for miles in either direction.
We also visited the brilliant pembrey country park (about half hours drive) where you can ski on the dry ski slope, toboggan, horse ride, have a go at pitch and put and a trip on the miniature railway, visit the fantastic beach there and a fantastic adventure playground. We visited twice.
The on site restaurant is not expensive, the Carvery on the Sunday was nice, and the whole bill for 5 of us including drinks was less than £40. The drinks were also reasonably priced.
There is a massive area of varied entertainment most nights in busy periods, it does get quite loud but quietened down after 11.
The facilities block could have been a bit cleaner, here are not enough toilets considering the size of the site, there are plenty of showers however and a plentiful supply of hot water.
The staff in reception didn't seem to have any enthusiasm for helping with tourist attractions or where the coastal path leads when we asked.
One thing that does let the site down slightly (which isnt the sites fault) is some of the people, loud music blasting out, driving round far to fast, people driving to the faculties block constantly/ shop/ pub (which bizarrely seemed to happen all the time with a constant amount of cars driving passed just to get around the site at speed, )
Overall a fantastic family site, not the sort of site we generally visit in the uk but my kids enjoyed it, don't think we would stay for 10 days again but would be ok for 3or 4 nights for us, it's also very keenly priced considering the amount of facilities.

Brilliant weekend!
Awesome campsite, plenty to do and loads of space. Visited on the bank holiday weekend. There were 4 families in our party so there were 4 medium Size tents. Plenty of space so we were spoilt for choice for a pitch. The 6 children were aged between 2 years old to 9 years old. They were safe to play and visit the clubhouse.
Clubhouse was only a short distance from our tents. Music played all day long from the clubhouse. Plenty going on, swimming pool was good, play area was safe, mini golf was good too. The meals were fantastic and the bar was always buzzing especially when cardiff city fc played and beat manchester city which was shown live on the T. V, great atmosphere and a good pint. Will definitely be returning soon.
Loved it!

Great site everything is just a short stroll.
Loads of room for tents and kids to play. The estuary sits one side, 300m away (fishing opportunity), and an on site lake the other.
Larger Shower blocks, clean and hot with hooks and shelf.
On site Crazy Golf, Kids playground, Indoor Pool and play area, plus kids games room. The 'Club House is a proper Club, great meals at good prices and nightly entertainment.
Very child friendly, and adult welcoming.
Bar open till late so there is noise that carries out to the tent area.
Extra benefit is that whilst tucked away, a 3min drive takes you to Llanelli shopping estate, Tesco / Morristons / KFC & McDonalds.

After looking at the website the site looked brilliant! All set for a fun family (3 adults, 3 children) weekend of camping but will definitely not be returning again as the bad points out weigh the good.
On arrival when booking in at reception an acceptable £10 deposit is required for a key fob to gain entry into the pitch fields and also for a key for the toilet blocks. Even though the site was not overly busy We were told there were no more toilet keys available but they would remain open.
The camping field is situated overlooking the estuary and it really is a lovely view. You can choose your own spot to pitch. The field is not that far from the toilet/shower block. The smell (from late afternoon all evening and night) that filled the campsite was disgusting and over powering it smelled liked sewerage.
The toilet/shower block was very modern but not to the cleanest of standards. The smell in the toilets were horrific and were not very clean. Plenty of soap and warm water to wash your hands though and two dryers. The showers were warm but had to keep pressing the button every 10/15 seconds.
The pool was ok a bit over crowded and smelled funny not like chlorine and the showers were not much good. The pool and play area are over charged. At £3 per person it can become quite expensive. You do however get a voucher to redeem the cost only if spent on food over £5 the same day. My 2 and half year old boy wanted only chips and were told they only served main meals Friday to Saturday.
The noise on site was the biggest downfall. It is to be expected that noise will be made on sites but not loud until 1am from the pub which continued back at the tents until later!
The on site shop is awful. Stocked well with squash, sweets, over prices ice lollies and cider!
Luckily there is a lovely shopping centre with a tesco extra and morrisions 5 minutes away by car.
The pub/restaurant is also open to locals, which is fine but they seem to have priority over staying visitors with tables 'reserved' for them.
I think the site is more for families who like a livelier break and families with older children. Will definitely not be returning again!

The site is in a lovely location right on the estuary giving the opportunity for nice walks. The walks were flat and well maintained. The site is in walking distance of National Wetland Centre Wales, the Parc Y Scarlets and the Trostre out of town shopping.
We stayed in the Dragons field, the pitch size was great although the type of hard standing material used was base hardcore and not the small chippings we usually see.
Across from us was the tent field, not used at that time of year which was great as it gave us room to play with the kids and dogs.
Watch out when you arrive especially if you have your caravan, you arrive in the car park for the Gateway Inn and drive through to the entrance of the site, but this entrance is key controlled and there is no pull in to wait, so you block everyone going in or out while your better half is frantically signing in at reception, luckily for us the car behind used his key to allow me into the park stopping me feel like a beached whale.
Set up day was great, sun was shinning with a slight breeze coming up off the estuary. Then came the rain, nothing that the camp site could do about this I know, but the drainage was awful and our awning area soon turned into a puddle, I tried knocking pegs into the hard standing but just could not get the water to drain away, this is how it stayed for the whole time of our stay with rain coming from time to time just to top up our new private pool.
The site has one toilet block although you could argue other toilets were in the Gateway Inn. The whole time of our stay the single urinal was blocked, this was fixed on our last day. The Showers were great although you had to time it right for the hot water.
I think if the weather was better I might have had a more positive experience, but can't help thinking the site has outgrown itself, the grounds were not maintained regular enough, the issue with the toilet block, it just seemed they could do with a hand to help raise the standards

The site is clean, pitches are good size and the views are stunning. We stayed in the Dragons field to be close to the dog walk and millenium coastal path, but whatever field you stay in is only a short walk to it. The path is overlooking the Loughor Estuary and the area is a bird watchers paradise. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust is between a mile or two walk.
We didn't bring children but you can see why families keep returning. There's loads for them to do. Kids were playing football and rugby in the large playing field, there's indoor and outdoor play parks and the swimming pool.
Even though we would definitely come here again, there are some downsides- There is only one toilet and shower block to serve the full site so busy weekends expect to queue. I think there were only 6 men's toilets in the block. The site shop is quite small selling only basics but most well known supermarkets are within 10 minutes drive. The grass areas were quite boggy in places and we put our awning up on the gravel hardstanding with the caravan.
