We just returned from a week at the site, we have been there before a few times and in general it has been good, we have complained about the noise on one occasion with very little done.
This time we got there on Saturday to be told there was a problem with the electric, the whole site was tripping out. There was no pool until Tuesday and then the pool was so cold they did not charge, which was a blessing. The problem was sorted out on Thursday.
We got on our very muddy pitch just, and it just got muddier by the day the drainage has got to be the worst I have ever seen and all the extra rain did not help. We got woken up most mornings by people going to work from their caravans one started loading his transit van from 6. 30 this was not funny. We wont be going back there anymore. I must say the staff we very pleasant though it was a tough time for them

We live locally and were told how fantastic this place was for young children. Couldn't quite believe it as right on our doorstep
Must say, what a fab place to take your little one. We have a very busy 1 year old, who just doesn't sit still for a moment. Was greeted very warmly by staff, paid £3.00 each adult for swim and play. Be warned, changing rooms are communal and very small.
Pool was heated and out LO loved it. Went into the bar afterwards for food where we were refunded the whole £6. 00 spent towards our food. Free salad bar and food was quick and lovely. The staff(although young) were fantastic and couldn't have been more attentive. The owners should be very proud of such nice staff. (I have been to loads of kids places and this just doesn't happen!).
Went into the softplay after and our LO had freerange to just explore. We felt really comfortable there and that our LO was safe.
Overall, fantastic! We will be going back there time and time again. My other half said he's going back too with his parents.

Fantastic site. Top class entertainment and artists (All free). Something going on all day and evenings for families and individuals. Great clubhouse and restaurant.
Extremely helpful and polite staff. Good food and very close to a large retail park. Beside the camp site is the part of the Welsh coastal cycle path providing excellent walks or you can hire a cycle at the Caravan Park.
All the facilities (Showers and Toilet blocks) are all extremely spotless. My wife and I will definitely be visiting again many times I hope.
To be perfectly honest, I could not find any fault with this caravan park. Excellent value for money and I would recommend it to everybody.
As a star rating out of ten, I would award 20 stars

Took my 2 children for the first time both are under the age of 3,
Took them into the indoor play area and they loved it,
Really friendly campsite,
Nice walks close to the site,
Nice pub around the corner called the lewis arms,
Local superstores in within driving range
Only negative thing I would say is there is no lighting from the tent areas to the wc area
But overall very pleased and would recommend

Booked a last minute 2 night break here to make the most of the fab weather.
Site was easy to find and on arrival, we hopped out to pick up our fob and toilet key. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful. There were several children hanging around the barrier area because its next to the bar terrace.
We found our pitch no problem - it was a bit on the small side but we got it because there was nobody next to us or in front of us.
The toilet & shower block was very clean and well maintained. Shower cubicles were the biggest I've seen which was great for me to take my 20 month old in with me. Also there were 2 good size hooks on the inside of the door which makes life a lot easier. The water was a perfect temperature.
We went to the Gateway Inn (on site pub-restaurant) both nights we were there and there was a singer on the Friday night who was really good and we all managed to sing along. On the second night there was a really good band there and we also ate in the restaurant section and the food was good pub food.
There are lots of beaches within 30-45 mins drive. We went to Oxwich.
We didn't need the shop so can't comment.
Although we didn't need it on this trip, we had a look at laundry facilities and there was only one washing machine and dryer that we could find which is never going to be enough during busy school holidays on a site with 100 pitches.
We would definitely go to this site again, primarily because it is well maintained and close to lovely beaches.

Stayed here for a weekend in March and took advantage of a ‘3 nights for the price of 2’ Six Nations Rugby offer. We were pleasantly surprised! The kids loved it – there is an indoor soft play area, with a café and other games (pool tables, air hockey, arcade machines etc) and a lovely warm indoor swimming pool – everything was very clean and, as previous reviewers have commented, all the staff were friendly & helpful.
The bar was very busy on the Saturday, with what seemed to be both locals and people staying on site, but it made for a great atmosphere when Wales won! We joined in a chorus of 'Delilah'! Good band in the evening and they seem to have live entertainment every weekend in the bar.
We stayed for the Sunday Carvery (we were leaving on the Monday but according to the literature you can have a late check-out on the Sunday at no extra charge) The roast dinner was one of the best we’ve had and it was great fun to hear the kitchen staff singing away in the morning (still going from the Saturday?)!
Lovely peaceful location, worth visiting the ‘Wetlands’ Centre, which is just minutes down the road. The site is right on a coastal pedestrian/cycle path, which you can access from the bottom field – we didn’t bring our bikes this time, but will next time!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have booked again for Easter. A great family orientated site, with plenty to entertain both kids and adults.

Chose Gateway as we were going to look at Aberystwyth Uni for our daughter and wanted to combine it with a holiday and there aren't many sites in Wales open all year.
The pool (not used but looked good) and play area (good) were free as part of a half-term promo.
Grass was a bit on the long (and therefore damp) side and all the permanent pitches do make for a depressing air out of season.
Also, being given one key for the site toilet/shower block which is kept locked was a bit stingy and gave the place a bit of a stalag feel. And given the short days, the lack of light in the dish wash area was a problem.
On the other hand, it is well placed for shopping, stadia, the Gower and coastal path - we appreciated handy dog walking.
The staff were friendly and helpful, drinks reasonably priced and the food (not tried) looked good.
We are not planning to rush back for a holiday but would certainly use the site again if we want a temporary base in the area.

We enjoyed the entertainment at this site, the pool is good for children and the restaurant served quite good food. The location is ideal to see the Wetlands and within 5 minutes driving time to Trostre shopping centre although there is a shop on site that sells a fair selection.
There is a charge for the children's indoor play area but this is re-imbursed when you buy food in the restaurant.
This visit was marred due to driving into the pitch over grass - which was our mistake, we were charged £50 to get pulled off and to 'make good' the grass, even though it was only a few meters. We may return but not for a while as after speaking to other campers, this was an excessive charge.

We were looking for somewhere local to try out our new caravan for the weekend, and given the time of year our choices were limited.
Access to the site is reasonably easy, but take care over the railway crossing.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, as are all staff in the club house and restaurant. Food is good and is sold at normal pub prices. Testimony to this is that locals use this place to eat out.
The site has a small shop that is priced reasonably, but with both a Tesco and Morrissons within 2 miles, it would have to be.
Can't comment on the toilet blocks as we did not use them (it was cold wet and dark during our stay so we used our own onboard facilities).
The hard standing pitches are small, not wide enough to have your car and caravan on!
The site is open 12 months of the year, so it was disappointing to see so many seasonal tourers abandoned, with pallets and chairs stacked and covered with tarpaulins.
The access roads are narrow and poorly lit. My heart was in my mouth negotiating them in the dark with the van on the back.
The park has direct access onto the millennium coastal park, so if cycling is your gig, it opens up a world of opportunities for you.
Not too sure if I would use again.

We stayed at this site along with another 3 caravans Fri -Mon, to be honest we won't be returning.
Bad Points
To use the pool you have to pay £3, you are issued with a ticket to reclaim the money in the bar, however if you don't want to use the bar then you can't reclaim the money. The pool is just that, no slide, just a square pool and a little babies pool.
The kids soft play area- again we were charged £3 per child and again you could reclaim the money-if you start to do the maths 3 children, 3 pool tickets plus 3 soft play tickers £18 per day. But saying that one minute we were charged for the soft play area and the next nobody said a word, one minute the children could go in on their own the next they needed an adult.
Food- the meals looked very nice if you could get a table to eat in the club, however we only wanted a plate of chips for the my 18month old niece, I was able to order these (£1. 75) for my husband but when my Sister tried to order them she was told that you can only order full meals on a Saturday night and wouldn't take the order.
Bar use- this was our biggest bug bear. Although we pay to use the club and facilities locals from the surrounding area are welcomed to use the bar at night as a local drinking haunt. Most of the tables are reserved by them as they eat then sit there all night as a night out- we've paid for the pitch but no seat available for us.
Whilst we were there an argument broke out between locals, this happened over the top of our heads between 2 tables. We found some of the bar staff very ignorant and served the seasonal or regulars before us even though we had been waiting before they even got to the bar.
Toilets- one block, not closer enough for all field to use, which closed at 1pm-2pm and then 6pm -7pm on a Sat.
Water- before going into the pool you are requested to shower which is fine if there is water to shower in. When we came out of the shower no water. We were told it was the water pressure, we went to the toilet block to shower there-no water.
Static area- the tattiest I have ever saw, basically a car park.
We are no snobs and can usually dismiss most things and get on with our weekend but all of us we very unhappy with the experience we had.
After hearing the advert on the radio we were really looking forward to visiting this site but we were left disappointed.
Good Points
Reasonable drinks prices
Meals looked big
Kids soft play area good- but having to pay everytime it is used is not.
Security patrol site
Good entertainment provided at night
