Absolutely stunning location - highly recommend going without electric hookup and requesting a pitch that looks out onto the beach, the view is so worth it!
The facilities are fairly basic but clean and we never found them to be too busy. It’s a lovely campsite atmosphere - nice and quiet at night but a lovely buzz in the evening with children playing and people enjoying the beach.
We were there for 5 nights and were never particularly bothered by midges - there’s generally enough of a breeze to keep them at bay. There were some out on our last evening but we had a bbq on the beach instead and there were none there.
Remember pound coins for the showers. There’s a good shop a few miles away and you can get laundry done there if needed.
Highly recommend as a base to explore Lewis - we will be back!

I received a warm welcome on arrival and shown my pitch and where to find things on site.
The views out over reef beach were absolutely stunning…what a spot only minutes away, great for people wanting to do water sports or be on the beach.
There was a warm food “van/kiosk” there but I was up and gone early before it opened. Pay to use shower facilities and toilet block.
I didn’t have children but the place seemed very child and dog friendly.
It was a busy campsite but despite that it was quiet by nightfall and the next morning

Great place, most wonderful landscape, beautiful beach… everything was very nice.
It is annoying that the showers must be paid with coins to run, and the water runs out quite fast, without warning (there is no time running out…)

Stunning location however vans were packed in. No identification of pitch demarcation areas. No grey water waste disposal.
Booked for 2 nights but stayed 1.
Lots of caravans that are long term / seasonal.
Busiest and most disorganised site we have been to on our western isles trip. Such a pity as it is in an amazing location.

We really loved this community owned and managed campsite.
It had everything we needed and was so relaxed and beautiful in its setting.
The showers are basic, but this came as no surprise to us because of other reviews we read.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and beach views from our camper and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Breathtaking views of Reef beach. Good pitch.
Basic facilities but clean and adequate. (Remember £1 coins for shower). Good correspondence.
Arrived late in the evening-message was in office window telling us of our pitch.
Friendly site manager.
Would definitely recommend.

Liked: location - next to an amazing beach with incredible bird life. Close to lovely walks and a short drive to lots of interesting historical sites.
Disliked: the campsite is very basic and the vans and tents are really crammed in. Many of the pitches don't have a view of the beach.
The facilities are basic/run down, not very clean and not sufficient for the number of campers.

Fantastic location. Good facilities for tent camping. Can be very windy though so low small tents!
Direct access to the beach. Lovely for swimming and long walks.
3 miles to nearest co-op shop which stocks all necessary grocer. Groceries including camping gas, petrol etc.

Fantastic location behind a long sandy beach. Warm showers for a pound, clean bathrooms and washing up areas in a block.
Friendly local warden who comes round to collect fees in cash and didn't mind us practising our few words of Gaelic on him! Make sure you have pound coins for the shower machines as well.
Good walks. We brought bikes and had a great day cycling to Uig Bay and there's an interesting museum and nice cafe in the Community Centre nearby.

Basic site with access to stunning beach.
Facilities basic but clean.
Electric hook up spaces very close.
Decided on the one night because we wanted to see more of Lewis and this site is very remote.
