Camp site staff were very friendly via email and in person. Clean and functional washing and showering facilities.
The site was near empty owing to it being October half term but despite the wind and the rain we had a great family holiday.
Beautiful location with lost of activities nearby for young and old - wood and stream great for children's adventures, Monkey World and Tank Museum a few minutes away, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Corfe castle all there for the taking!
Fantastic campsite in beautiful Dorset

Very warm welcome, lovely family run campsite.
Good facilities, Covid deep cleaning was very reassuring. Shop was good, but only open sporadically. Did food ordered by 4pm, we didn't indulge but nice to know it's there.
Bovington tank range over the road, so a few tank manoeuvres, not too loud and I thought very cool.
Alpacas on site were absolutely adorable!
The site is split into camping, yurts and glamping, lovely woodland walk.
The field over is a glider club, so a few aircraft whipped over, but very quiet.
Situated in a lovely part of the world, we did the tank museum, Duffle door, Corfe castle and Poole Quay.
Can't recommend this site enough 😀

Well laid out maintained to a high standard.
Could do with a tap at the Elsan unit. Given the current situation with covid lots of space between units.

Really lovely grounds and very friendly atmosphere.
Great location as it’s 5 min drive to station and only 20 mins to Durdle Door beach.
Very quiet at night and kept very clean.

Really lovely site. We were meant to stay 4 nights but delayed our arrival by a day due to bad weather. Good communication via Facebook messenger.
The only downside was I had booked and paid for a firepit that I didn't receive - they said they would deliver it once we had pitched but must have forgotten. In fairness though I didn't chase this up as we were out a lot and so decided to leave it.
Nice little cafe on site and communal firepit on terrace.
Enjoyed watching the alpacas.
Good facilities all round and near enough to Poole where we were catching the ferry to Guernsey.
Would visit again!

Enjoyed it thoroughly. Spotless toilets, jet cleaned regularly. The timed shower a bit annoying - needs to press the button all the time. Water nice and warm but the raised ceiling making them a bit cold.
Nothing major. The electric hook nice and decent plots. Loved the noise from the tanks or monkeys. Baby loved the alpacas being close.

Alpacas. Nice. Host. Nice.
Facilities very smart in crinkly rooofed barn but unheated and struggled to get hot water. Not sealed at roof so sound clear between mens and womens. Dinners available every evening 6 - 8 pm as advertised. NOT.
The road is noisy although setting is pretty.
The massive Bovingdon tank training exercise was in full nightime operation complete with helicopter support on the night we stayed, just across the road. Great to know our hard earned tax is being put to good use in keeping our military in battle readiness and our forces' hardware is being fully tested. Sleep? Er, fat chance.

We booked for a couple of nights in late October, (two pensionable age people, no children), and found Sally's communications very helpful, she was also very welcoming on the phone, and when we were there, just as welcoming in person.
We arrived in the dark, later than planned, and her husband came out to show us where things were.
Everything was indeed clean, well set out, well ordered. Because it was so late in the season the shop was closed, but that was no problem for us.
We'd happily come again, it a was peaceful site at night, it was easy to find a level place, & there were nice views over a little valley.
Hook-ups were well placed, and pitch size seemed reasonable.
The showers had lovely hot water. My only notes would be that they'd be much improved by more hooks and shelves, which were lacking; and also that the hot water took an age to come through. This may be because we were there with only a few others on site. It was great when it came, but since the press-button needs holding in every few seconds, my solution was to poke a mop handle round the nearly-closed door and keep it pressed on the button until the hot water worked through, while I stood outside, warmer and dry! (And yes, if you're wondering, still clothed :-) )
Extra information for caravan towers: when approaching, our satnav tried to take us into the closed lane leading to Monkey World, next door. The camp site is well enough signed, just a few hundred yards down the road, but I'm glad I didn't get stuck by obeying the satnav!

Our 3rd year at Longthorns for the first week of the school summer holidays. We just keep coming back.
Good facilities, fridge for campers use, freezer for your ice packs, hot showers, clean toilets, mobile charging, small shop and a bar with food options if it's raining and your campfire cook is put on hold. A small woodland walk to explore with the kids and lots of space.
Sleeping next to farm animals and hearing the Monkey World gibbons whoop for their breakfast as you wake up is a joy.
Sally, family and team are welcoming and very accommodating. We have camped as a family group for 3 years with mum/nanna in a shepherd's hut and for this reason, Sally has arranged for us to pitch as close as possible.
A quirk which we love:
The tanks roaring around in the evenings are noisy and we love it! It's not every day but they are part of this area and when else are you going to hear that? A visit to the tank museum is a must and great for a rainy day. Even just for the kid's small soft play and cheap lunch :)
Price wise - we found the base cost competitive, the add-ons have increased in price a little over the years but reasonably. We have considered elsewhere and we could camp close by for cheaper but for us, there is a certain charm to Longthorns which keeps bringing us back.
We're looking forward to our 2019 camp, we may even just come on our own for even more peace and quiet. And it is very peaceful here even with the odd contrasting tank roar.
