 A very nice campsite owner who is welcoming and helpful.
The site is immaculate with all you need from a CL site.
We paid £19 per night.
There is a bus stop a little up the road to the right which number 20 will take you into York but we walked it. It was approx 2 miles, gentle even walking which took 20mins or so. If you go left out of the site to the retail park, 5 min walk, there is a park and ride service number 9.
Great quiet site. Can't fault it!

Friendly helpful site owner. Good site for getting into York.
10mins walk round to park and ride next to shopping centre.
Not easy to find so read instructions on site info

Fabulous hideout if you want peace and quiet,
Great location for park and ride or a 30 min walk into York, no car needed.
Very clean,
Catherine very friendly and helpful,
We will definitely be visiting again.
Betty’s tearoom worth a visit for afternoon tea/lunch.

Excellent site. Only 5 plots. Very quiet.
Only one shower and toilet. Never an issue though. 30 mins walk into York.
Would definitely visit again. Owner nice and friendly.

Fab site, good clean facilities could maybe do with another toilet.
Close to park and ride which we used to go into York, very convenient. Very friendly owner.
Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Lovely quiet site hidden away from the busy road.
Facilities although basic were very clean and tidy. Wouldn't have minded a pot wash sink but it wasn't an issue.
30 minute stroll into York or park and ride round the corner.
Great value for £19 a night.

Good clean site, with M and S food around the corner.
The best bit is the park and ride £1 20 for the return journey, through York and to the rail station and museum.

We have found a little gem of a campsite at Chowdene, simple but lovely. Only 5 pitches which for us wanting peace and quiet was lovely. The host Catherine was really helpful.
At £19 a night couldn't have asked for more, electric hook up, water top up and waste disposal.
25 minute walk into the centre of York, 10 min walk to the nearest shopping centre (Vanguard) Monks cross shopping centre also walkable but we didn't get time to go there.
All in all this is a lovely place and we will certainly visit again!

Lovely site very quiet no toilet or shower due to COVID but we had are own Camper van.
Next door to the shopping centre and close to the coast 😀
