 Chowdene is a lovely, small, quiet site which will appeal to those wanting to camp without on-site clubs etc. Its' locality is very good - very close to York, either a short drive or you can use the Park n Ride which is close by. The shower and toilet is clean and modern. The shower takes 20p or £1 coins. I had an ample shower for 40p and could have continued longer for that price but was aware the toilet was in the same room and other campers may be waiting. The owners are a very friendly couple who were keen we should enjoy our stay. The pitches are very tidy and level with some electric hook ups available. We had a most enjoyable stay and will definitely return.

Excellent new (July 2010) Camping & Caravanning Club Certified Site (CS) just 2 miles from York city centre. 5 van site with electric hook-ups, shower/toilet, and friendly welcoming owners
Well drained 1 1/2 acre grass field with gravel road and entry driveway. Not too close to main roads so very quiet at night, but very well situated.
5 mins walk from Monks Cross Park & Ride. Easy cycle mostly on cycleways into York in less that 10 minutes.
10 minutes walk to Monks Cross large shopping centre with M&S, Sainsbury's, ALDI, Starbucks, WH Smith etc.
