First visit and what a fabulous time. Nice large flat pitch (we chose no hook up). Site relatively quiet when we arrived but got busy towards the weekend.
Toilet & Shower facilities best we have seen, spotless. Small shop on site for very basic provisions. Staff very helpful.
Great location, right next to marina where there is good restaurant / bar and of course great setting, great choice and good price. About 5 minutes in car or 30 minute walk lovely town of Hamble where you will be spoilt for pubs all serving great food.
Think we had the only 3 days of sun when visiting so made trips out to Portsmouth, Southampton and New Forest all the more enjoyable. All in all a really nice camp/caravan site, safe for kids and in nice setting, peaceful too.
Highly recommend this one.

This was our first outing in our Autosleeper Neuvo. This site was perfect for our needs.
It was on level, grass standing. The staff were friendly and helpful. We used the bar/restaurant next door at the Marina, we didn't eat there but it was popular.
A mile down the road is the village of Hamble-le-Rice. About a 30 minute walk. Plenty of pubs and restaurants.

Stayed here for one night after having found it in the Discovery Countryside camping booklet, although only an hour away from home have never camped by the Hamble.
On arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady in reception, we were not shown to our pitch but were pointed in the right direction. We were on pitch 8 right down the end on the left hand side, nice open pitch but they are not really marked out as such although the pitches are numbered. No complaints but glad we had 20 metres of cable for the electric as it only just reached our tent, it is 16amp although we were told some pitches are only 10 amps.
Was certainly a quiet campsite, so no complaints really and they like people to keep the noise down from 10pm although there were two families opposite, they were not noisy but did carry out chatting outside way gone 11pm, could hear them but not that troublesome. I don’t think the wardens go round checking to see what is going on as I would have thought they would have been asked to be a little bit quieter.
The shower block, loos, washing up room etc are in the centre of the campsite, for the size of the campsite was surprised to see only four shower rooms, one fundamental error in those is there are no loos but they are big enough for one, there are also no shelves to put stuff on, just one chair. They appear to be fairly new but in two of them we went in the floors are already beginning to sag; you feel you might go all the way through! They were very clean and well kept.
Overall the campsite is good, a little rough round the edges, most of the pitches seemed uneven but not that bad even with a tent. It’s a 15/20 minute walk from the lovely village of Hamble, so worth it, you can also get a lovely little pink ferry across to Warsash. Plenty of pubs and places to eat and drink and there are a few shops including a small supermarket. The on-site shop seemed very small and was closed at 5pm on the Saturday when we returned. However we would return.

Despite atrocious weather the site held up well. There were many puddles but the ground was not soft. Pitches were spacious enough for our 20' van. The facilities were excellent, toilets being individual with own basin and soap. The showers were roomy with basins and free hot showers. We had an electric pitch and were pitched in amongst tents and camper vans, this didn't affect our enjoyment of the site. We took our two dogs and it was easy to walk them for comfort breaks off site. We would return to this site again.

This was our first visit out in our elderly motorhome purchased earlier this year, so wanted something fairly local to try it out. We chose this site because the reviews were good and the location seemed interesting.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly and we were shown where to drain our grey water and replenish the fresh water. The grey water drain seemed to be a round drain set into the grass on the edge of the gravel roadway, but because there were white posts positioned on the edge of the grass to stop vehicles driving onto the grass it was hard to position the drainage point from our van over the drain. Consequently the grey water poured down the gravel path. I would imagine when the site is busy this would be very inconvenient for other users.
As this was low season the site was empty, so I cannot comment on the layout when full, but we had a good pitch and the toilet and shower block were spotless.
We walked to Hamble Square and the quay which took us about 40 minutes each way, and had dinner at the restaurant at the Mercury Yacht club, which was 5 minutes walk away from the site.

This is a pleasant quiet site near the Marina. A warden greeted us on arrival and showed us where to park. It was not far from the log cabin shower block accessed up a few steps. The memorable factor about this site is this shower block with its spacious showers. They are free and are in large cubicles. There is a sink and toilet in an individual cubicle giving a lot of privacy.
We were picked up by our son who drove us to nearby Bursledon to an excellent albeit busy Harvester restaurant. This site is handy if visiting Southampton. It is not the easiest place to find.

This is a beautiful site it has, good clean facility's. an amazing view of the harbour with a lovely pub serving lovely food and drink and all staff extremely friendly. it also offers lovely walks and only a 5minute drive to hamble town where there are mire pubs and the beautiful beach. All the staff at this site are very welcoming and the pitches are good sizes. Our children love this site and although it doesn't have a park our children never get bored here. We have stayed here twice this year and have just rebooked to go back again for the weekend this month. Would recommend it to any one.

To Find Site:- Leave M27 at junction 8 and head towards Hamble. Just after second roundabout past Tesco’s turn left into Satchell Lane (signed) Continue down this road for about a mile and turn left at Mercury Yacht Harbour sign and campsite on right in about 100 yards.
This campsite is situated next to the Mercury Yacht Harbour on the River Hamble. Riverside Holidays is half permanent holiday accommodation and half touring site with about 70 touring pitches on grass. There is also some caravan storage on site. Pitches are marked with numbers but how much space you get seems to be determined by where your neighbours park in relation to the pitch number although usually there is a reasonable amount of space. There are two tent areas without electric points. Electric points are convenient to the pitches and are rated at 16amp using standard CEE17 blue connectors. It would seem in colder weather and when the site is fuller that the site electrics can’t really cope with the demand placed on them and we experienced several power downs during our stay (mid September) which was inconvenient as we had to call upon our gas supplies quite frequently. There are two toilet blocks, the one nearest the camping pitches is of prefabricated style which is functional rather than being luxurious and the showers don’t offer a lot of privacy as they are only enclosed by curtains. The only water point appears to be at this toilet block and the chemical and grey water disposal at the rear of this building. The second block is in a log cabin type building with much nicer facilities and has access to toilets/showers via individual doors on the outside of the building, the shower rooms are massive. The dishwash and laundry is also in this building. There is a motorhome service point of sorts but grey water waste is via a slightly raised pipe which won’t suit motorhomes with a low drain point and it does not have fresh water replenishment. There are no play facilities for children. Dogs are charged for. There is site wide WiFi at reasonable cost which can be purchased online. Reception has some tourist information. The site does accept the ACSI Discount Card at certain times of the year and also accepts Camping Cheques but over a more limited period. Credit Cards are accepted for payment
Notwithstanding the problems with the site electrics this is a pleasant enough, if basic, campsite with friendly staff. However it’s the sort of place you come to with a purpose in mind, be that to sail or visit places or relatives, it would not be on my list as a holiday destination. It is very convenient for Hamble which is about a fifteen minute walk away where you will find several restaurants and a small Co-Operative store. Just on the edge of the village is Banana Wharf where you will find a nice restaurant. There is another restaurant next door to the site called the Waters Edge. For more serious shopping there is a large Tesco near to Junction 8 on the M27. Portsmouth and Southampton are about equal distance from the site. The site is popular during the Southampton Boat Show.

This campsite is a beautifully, well kept site with excellent toilet and shower facilities. I love the individual toilets and showers. It is within easy walking distance to the centre of Hamble with all of it's shops and pubs. We held a 50th Birthday celebration here and unfortunately may have upset some of the campers with noise, dogs, football etc as there were a large amount of people in our party and would like to apologise to anyone offended. The wardens certainly do not accept this kind of behaviour as the site is there for all to enjoy - do not be put off a previous review.

We visited this month and to be quite honest were glad to leave. On the plus side the wardens where pleasant and the toilets and showers despite being in need of update where ok. I would not go back because I do not like the policy of mixing tents with tourers. The original pitch we refused owing to being put next door to a massive tent with lots of children. We were then put on a pitch near reception. For two nights we had to endure screaming kids in a tent and also put up with the noise from about 4 caravans celebrating a 50th birthday. We took our teenage son and like children but not screaming all the time. I witnessed a dog of lead and people kicking footballs despite not being allowed in the rules.
