What a fantastic site, a little Gem, everything you want a site to be. The owners keep the Site and facilities spotless and are always on hand to help. Very quiet after 10-30ish. Pitches are huge, hot water constantly in the showers and washing area.
Central to all the major Dorset attractions and tourist spots. Lovely Pub not too far away as is the Spar.
Nothing negative to say about the site, it was a delight to have spent 2 weeks there. 10 out of 10.

This is one of the best campsites we have been. The facilities were very comfortable. The staffs were very friendly. The pitch was a perfect location. There were drinking water pipes in every feild so that you need not walk all the way to the facilities area. We would highly recommend the site.

Excellent small site, friendly reception, good hardstanding pitch, well kept site with excellent shower and toilet block, always found to be very clean with light music playing. Very close to shops and pubs in Wool, with good chippy a short walk away.
The train line is quite close but the sound of the trains didn't bother us. This is an excellent site for visiting Corfe Castle, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Poole etc. We used our acsi card and got a discounted nightly rate.

This is a lovely site and in the right place to explore quite a bit of the region including Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth Dorchester, Swanage and Lulworth Cove which is part of the Jurassic coastline. Corfe Castle is well worth a visit also if like these sort of things. The staff are very obliging and helpful. The site itself is reasonably quiet even though the site takes children. There is enough space between units without being on top of each other and the site is very well kept with toilets and showers spotlessly clean, washing up areas are also spotless. There are a couple of pubs which are within ten minutes walk and another within a twenty minute stroll and all serve food. In Wool itself there are a couple of supermarkets, a butchers selling local produce, a Chinese takeaway and a hardware store which just about sells everything you need. All in all a lovely site which is well worth a visit or more.

We phoned up the site at short notice (approx. 5 days before) and the call was taken by Colin who was extremely helpful. The booking went smoothly and arrived on the Sunday as planned and was met by Nadine who asked us to have a look around and choose a pitch due to the fact that it wasn't a busy period (bank holiday). The site in general is extremely well kept regarding the grass being kept short, the cleanliness of the toilet and shower blocks and the location of the concrete chemical disposal point being one of the best I have seen in terms of access and water tap flushing. There are ample of refuse bins around the site contained in low wooden fenced compounds which looks neat and tidy plus the bins are emptied regularly.
There are plenty of fresh water points available with small stones at the base for good drainage so you don't have to walk far which is a bonus especially on wet days.
The campsite shop in general is well stocked for the basic essentials plus there are numerous leaflets with information on places to visit in the area. However, the site owners have also provided various emergency numbers displayed in the door window such as local doctor and vets etc. Which is excellent.
There are two pubs in the village that serve food daily which are the 'Black Bear' and the 'Ship Inn' which the latter seemed a little expensive but ideal to walk to as there is a pedestrian crossing over the railway line not far from the site entrance. There is also a fish and chip shop at the end of the lane which is open 7 days a week which is highly recommended as the servings are not just plentiful but the brown crispy batter is excellent plus their curry sauce is somewhat delicious to say the least.
We went to Weymouth and Portland Bill one day and stopped at the 'Bridge Inn' in Preston on the way back for a drink and a meal. We had change from twenty quid for one Gammon Steak & Pineapple with chips & peas plus the same but with Scampi to which the food and service were both excellent. This quaint and quiet little country pub with beer garden at the front with children's play area is nestled amongst the charming surrounding houses which just adds to the character of the Inn.
The location of Whitemead Caravan and Camping Park is ideal as it is centrally based for visiting many seaside resorts such as Swanage, Weymouth and Poole plus there are many other attractions in the area too and is without doubt the best commercial site we have ever stayed at which reflects the all round 10 star rating given for both quality and excellence. However, full credit to the site owners Colin and Nadine Church for their commitment in maintaining the site to such a high standard and many friendly campers that we chatted to during our stay said they had returned several times before which says it all. We had a lovely time here and hope to return again in the future.
Regarding previous reviews regarding the tooting of the train horn didn't really bother us and by the end of the week you get used to it and just becomes part of the charm of this attractive campsite.

Great site kept spotlessly clean. Even when the site was full we never had to queue for the showers. Facilities are the best we have experienced for some time and the owners are extremely nice people. 2 pubs, bakers, village shop and fish and chips all within a short walk and lots to do in the surrounding area. Very popular with European visitors and several we spoke to said it was the best UK site they had visited.
Thoroughly recommended.

A very well maintained site, toilets were spotless and modern to a very high standard. Site was well set out and not too cramped. The owners were very helpful and were on hand if needed. The shop on site was small but well stocked. The park for children was of a reasonable size. On the whole I thought the site was perfect for our needs. It was quiet even though the site was full. There is a pub across the road that serves nice food. The site is handy for the station

We stayed at this campsite to walk a Dorset stretch of the South West Coast Path. It proved to be extremely difficult to find a campsite which wasn’t charging over the top for the Easter break, so we were really pleased to find this site. With hindsight this was a much better choice anyway than the other sites we looked as there are good transport links. It is located near the railway station which has trains to Weymouth, the X53 bus stops right near the site and there are also taxis at the station. There is also a small (infrequent) community transport bus (X104) which took us to the start of our walk at Lulworth Cove. The site is level with grass pitches and the toilet /shower block is modern and clean (showers nice & hot), and there are laundry and wash-up facilities. There is also a games room with table football and pool table, plus free wifi for 3 hours a day is a welcome bonus. The small shop in the reception area is well stocked. There are a few shops nearby in the town. We will definitely return.

We recently used Whitemead as a base in order to go to Tiger Day at the Tank Museum, Bovington. The campsite is well laid out with pitches that range from gently sloping to level, has two well equipped play areas and an excellent facilities block that was kept absolutely spotless.
Being in a tent we'd hoped to get a level pitch overlooking 'The Moors' at the back of the site, but unfortunately on the weekend we visited the ground was very boggy due to the inclement weather, so we had to pitch on a slope near the front of the site. This put us closer to the road and train line than we'd hoped which resulted in a fair bit of traffic noise, most of which you became quite used to. The trains sounding their horns right next to the site made me jump though on numerous occasions.
The fish and chip shop at the end of the road sells lovely fish and chips and there's a very nice bakery and Spar on the High Street in the village. Parking isn't a problem.
As previous reviewers have mentioned Whitemead is in an excellent location for exploring southern Dorset and we will definitely be returning at some point.
