Marvellous site in a really handy location. We are relatively new to camping but did our homework the previous year by spending a day in the area just checking out some sites - and this was the best (for us). Toilets, showers etc were spotless. Shop was small but there is a really well stocked post office half a mile away. Play area was a bit small but kids were never bored. Really well placed for Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Corfe, Wareham and Swanage. Bovington and Monkey World are very close. The only negative was the proximity of the railway line but this was just local trains, there was no rail traffic at night and the closeness of the local station meant the speeds were low. I suppose if you are coming by train it's ideal.

August 2004 This was our first visit to this site and we stayed for 2 weeks, we chose this site for its location mainly, we found it handy for Weymouth, Swanage, and Wareham. We found the site busy and there was more than the advertised 95 pitches (we were 102) Despite booking several months in advance we were put in the bottom field which seems to be kept for late arrivals although it was only 1.00pm when we arrived.
Pitch sizes are good though, the toilet/shower block is in the top field but you can walk to them on a foot path through the centre in about a minute even from the bottom field. Athough its classed as 3 fields they are very small and barely qualify as fields so there is no mile treks to the showers The toilets were clean although some days were worse than others and there are only 3 showers for women and 3 for men, so expect a queue unless you are up very early. They are cleaned daily between 12 and 2.
The shop had the basics but was not open nearly enough but there is an excellent shop in Wool only 5 mins away which had a post office and hot food counter where you could get pizzas, chicken, potatoes etc, There is a food van on the site which was good value for money and food was excellent but it was only open 3 times a week. The trains that run next to the site are quite noisy it comes as a shock when you first hear them but after a day you dont notice it.
We did have a good time and we would go back.

May 2004 Very pleasant friendly site. Good value for money. Toilets and showers very clean and tidy. Only downside is the railway line about 50 yards away. Every train that passes blows its horn !!!

July 2003 Quiet and secluded site. Very well maintained with good facilities and friendly staff.
A good pub with excellent food is a two minute walk from the site. Exit via the site entrance/exit and turn left. A railway line runs beside the road. Approx 50 yards along this road is a pedestrian level crossing over the line, take this and turn right. The pub is a few yards along this road on the right.
