Fantastic Place!
Booked in here because it was one of the only sites in the area that allowed a mid week start in high season. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were even able to accommodate us arriving two days early at very short notice.
Facilities were clean & well presented, pitches are a really good size and well spaced out. It's also family friendly, has a small playground and is quiet at night. The snack food van on site was probably a bit too handy for the occasional bacon sandwich and milkshakes for the kids. There's no actual shop on site, but there's a small convenience store in the housing estate opposite and it's only about a twenty minute walk into Braunton itself.
When in the area I usually surf at the hugely overcrowded Croyde bay, but I thought that I'd give Saunton a try as it's literally just up the road from this place and the campsite staff recommended it. Needless to say I won't now be surfing at Croyde ever again, Saunton is much less crowded and with much more consistent surf. The only downside is that there was no lifegaurd service there on any of the occasions I visited.
On arrival at the site the staff explained that the neighbouring villages of Croyde & Georegham were accessible via a network of small country lanes and footpaths that lead from the back of the site. They even sold walking maps at reception showing you the route, so we thought we'd give it a go and enjoyed two beautiful country walks with fantastic views of the area, before getting the local bus back which dropped us off right outside the campsite.
The bus service is actually really good for exploring the area, and if you want to leave the car back at the site, then you can buy unlimited travel passes for about £11 for the week.
All in all, very impressed, therefore we've already booked in at Lobb Fields for August 2016!

We had spent 2 weeks here at Easter and enjoyed it so much that we booked for the half term. It is so convenient for the Tarka trail just 1/2 a mile from the site. Helpful staff and site is kept clean and tidy. Toilet and shower block are adequate but could do with a stool to sit on when dressing after your shower. The takeaway food van is useful and very good food just what you need after a hard days cycling. Tesco is beside the tarka trail so you can pick things up on your way back to the site and there are other shops in Barnstaple.

Originally paid to stay at Cerenety Eco camp in Bude en route to Ilfracombe, however it was really difficult to find and on arrival it appeared to be just a hugely sloping field downwards with no facilities or reception in sight. Our van kept slipping and sliding. Existing campers were very rude, and staff nowhere to be seen so we left. ( no refund ever offered)Found Lobb Field in Braunton online and arrived to find really friendly, professional Reception staff. The site seemed huge with beautiful views. We could choose our unmarked pitch within a standard non electric area. It cost £15. The toilet block was large with spacious showers and room to dress. There was a separate shower to wash sandy wet suits. The takeaway van was a bonus as apparently the local restaurants were fully booked. He also makes breakfasts. We decided to walk into Braunton and came across the quirky Saunton Road studios which had a bar and the really good house band were playing. Peaceful night back at the site. Good value for money.

Site was unexpectedly busy, as we didn't book, we had a pick of two pitches. They were handy to the showers so hooked-up and went to try the dog walk but with recent rain we found it too muddy, but the camp-site has an upper and lower field so there was plenty of walking space. During the evening the site filled up with a mass invasion of VW campers most with surf boards on the roof rack, so that was the reason for the lack of choice. Woke up to a sunny September day on the Saturday, didn't use the snack van for brecky but there was a queue of 6 deep so he didn't miss us!
Chemical disposal was a fair walk from my pitch, but good exercise! Handy site for Braunton and bought a wet suite in the best surf shop Surfed Out and went to the burrows, only £1. 50 to park, Saunton wanted £8 from me to park my Nuevo! Only wanted to walk the dog! This camp-site is well situated for some of Devons best surfing beaches and the towns Barnstaple and Bideford one way and Ilfracombe and Lynton the other. A perfect site for a perfect holiday

We love coming to this campsite - great base for surfing at Saunton or Croyde beaches. Relaxed atmosphere with take away van for breakfasts and evening food. Some lovely places are within a short distance for visiting and shops great at Braunton. Toilets and showers are very clean and pitches of a generous size. No additional entertainment other than beautiful views and thoroughly enjoyed by older children if you are looking to entertain with something different in this country - it's never too late to learn to surf! Beach is lovely to sit on if you don't want to take part!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities, although a bit out dated, were very clean and we never had to queue for the showers. Our pitch was very large, usually we would struggle to get a standard pitch to fit our 8 man tunnel tent with porch, but there was plenty of room. All pitches were cut once they were vacant. Takeaway van came in very handy for breakfast on the morning that we had to leave, and was good value for money. Location was great, handy for plenty of beaches and the views were outstanding.

Returned to Lobb Fields after about 10 years, still great site.
The 'Plateu' that we stayed on was not impressive as the part we were on seemed to be ontop of a very large peice of slate and we had to bend all of the pegs to support the tent.
1 small play area in the bottom field and the toilet and shower blocks are good and always looked clean.
The site is dog friendly which was nice.
Great location and stunning views, helpful staff.
Will return

What can I say? It was a lovely site with very wide pitches, a good dog walk, a snack van (but we did not use it). The washrooms were very clean and plenty of spacious showers and toilets. Some of the pitches are on the slope so I would advise levellers, just in case.
The staff were very helpful and cheerful. There is also a surf hire shop on site.
We will be down for a weekend soon when the surf looks promising!

This is a very big site, well marked pitches with plenty of room, showers/toilets spotless all the time, very clean site.
Great views all round day or night.
There is a 'snack' shop which is Very good, the guy that runs it, really knows what he is doing, ' Chicken Curry & Chips ' best I've had for a long time.
This not a cheap site but it is kept clean and tidy, I would recommend it but there are cheaper ones the other side of Braunton.

Visited Lobb Fields last weekend.
We were surprised that our pitch looked like it was in the middle of caravans & tents that had already set themselves up !
We actually found this to be ok though as the pitches are quite big.
The shower block was clean & the dog walk was nice. Having a van selling food on site kept our Daughter happy by going to buy ice creams & sweets but they didn't sell much more than that on site. Daughter liked the small play park.
Very handy for The beaches as a very short drive but I believe there is a bus.
We liked the site & will be going back
