July 2005 This site is great. The pitches are huge (and owning a Vango Diablo 900, this is very welcome!). We stayed on the top field which means a uphill walk to the shower and toilet block but it works off the bacon sandwiches! The loos are a bit elderly but kept clean and the showers are fine. There are power points in the ladies so you can plug your hairdryer in (wish I'd known that in advance!)
All in all, a great site with really friendly and efficient staff. It was getting very busy when we left but it was still quiet by 11pm.
We shall be returning!!

July 04 Great site, especially for the surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde. Great Staff - very friendly, and also good that it is well within walking distance of Braunton for pubs and restaurants. We stayed at the top end of the site - (opposite end to reception) for great views over sand dunes, although on a slight slope - the rest of the site is flat. Will be going back.

May '03 Brill site, have used it many times. Always well run and clean. It operates to the best standerds of the C&CC; how they do it and still admit us I don't know. Gates shut at 10.30pm(?) people who have gone into town to drink have usually started to sober up by the time that they return. Good surfing at Saunton, Croyde & Puttsborough. Climbing on Baggy Point. Bird-watching at Chapel Wood (RSPB reserve) and Baggy. Good area for Biking - The Tarka trail to Banstaple runs by the side of the estuary. The next part of the trrail beyond Bideford is far more interesting and is little used.

03/08/2002 I have been here many times when I was younger, but couldn't remember. It was my first holiday camping in many years and the first with our dog. It was a pleasent stay and a great first hol with our dog.

Lobb Fields is situated on the coastal outskirts of Braunton about 12 miles from Barnstaple. The site is quite large and can be busy during bank holidays as the area is popular with surfers, however the rest of the time it is relatively quiet and offers good basic facilities at a sensible price. We like it because the gates are shut at 11:00pm so there is little disturbance at night, there are fantastic walks along quiet lanes, some of the most extensive sand dunes in England and 4 miles of long sandy beaches.
