We have just got back from High moor farm. Its a lovely clean site with great views and didn't feel hemmed in which was nice. Has both good and bad points - toilets lovely and clean only 4 showers tho, needs updating. Has a pot cleaning area. The shop is odd it sells nothing of much use and its opening hours are not very good.
The fishing lake was excellent and very strict rules which fishermen like of course. The club omg the club. Music from 80's decor 80's no children allowed near the bar and must give up seats to adults from 9pm (a sign outside says so). Food menu available from 12-1. 30pm but run out at 1pm. Bingo every night from 9pm, not our thing. I get the impression that the owners don't relly want young children which is a shame, the park suggests so also, its old and no use to any child under 7ish. There is a games room which is old fashioned but to be fair its ok nothing special. Dog walkers will love it. All in all though we did like it lots to do off site. Grassington, pately bridge, harrogate, brimham rocks. I wouldn't rush to go again but I wouldn't say don't go either. Must stress though its a very clean site just stuck in time. Try see what you think.

Stayed Easter weekend very busy site, very clean well looked after site, good play area for the kids.
Pool good no changing rooms so a chilly walk back.
Toilets and showers clean but could do with a little modernisation and more showers needed only 3 and a bath available 20p for 5 mins lovely hot water.
Stayed on grass very boggy as it rained quite a lot.
Harrogate and Skipton lovely shopping place.
Cant comment on club never went, but never heard any noise.
Overall very enjoyable stay.

Arrived at the site on the first day of the 2012 season. Site was quiet with very few guests. This unfortunately meant that the shop was on restricted hours and the club wasn't open at all until the Easter weekend which then created problems on site until the early hours.
The fact that the pitches weren't very big wasn't an issue until the Easter weekend when it was full and there wasn't enough room to fit an average sized family car next to a caravan an porch awning!
Swimming pool and children's play area were great - the only fault being there are no changing rooms and the walk back to your caravan with young children can be very cold.
We had to run our electric hook up lead across a road which we felt was a health and safety issue.
It's a nice, clean site but it should be avoided at busy times such as bank holidays when its fully booked. Having said that, I doubt we will be making a return visit.

Great site, have stopped here 4 or 5 times now, ( please read previous reviews for a more in depth review).
We have never failed to have a great / fantastic weekend/stopover.
Shop on site, swimming pool ( no changing rooms ), bar which serves meals, games room and a massive play area for kids to burn their energy off.
Our only complaint was toilet rolls, there was never enough, but I am pleased to report that the site has been updated and on this stay we found that we never had a problem, so our only complaint has now been addressed. Many thanks to all the staff for listening and taking note of what we consider to be a potentially holiday ruining small problem.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at High Moor
The journey from Lancashire was tough on the A59 but that was probably down to me being unfamiliar with the road. Blubberhouses however is not for the faint hearted on the A59!
On arrival we were quickly shown to the pitch. The pitches are strange in that they are hardstanding base with a short covering of grass.
The site is very well looked after, the washrooms are clean and kept clean. It must have been very challenging for the staff as the weekend we were there, it rained a lot and people were treading mud into the washrooms but they were soon cleaned up.
The showers cost 20p and run for 5 minutes. The best thing to do is have 2 x 20p pieces in case it runs out. Maybe a seat in the changing area in the cubicle might be an idea for the site.
The swimming pool is warm and well maintained. The shop only has limited opening times but has essentials and they take newspaper orders for the following day.
Like all sites there are speed bumps all around and I can never understand why they have to be as brutal as they are. It’s not unique to High Moor just a general observation.
Harrogate is a short trip in the car and parking is plentiful. The shops are excellent too
We also visited Knaresborough including Mother Shipton’s tourist attraction.
Great weekend overall and a BIG yes we will return again soon

Just returned from a six night stay. Lovely campsite with very good facilities. The toilets were always clean. The showers were also clean plus they were always piping hot - you pay 20p for a shower lasting around 5 minutes, which is reasonable and 5 minutes is plenty of time.
The swimming pool is a good size with a separate slide and baby pool and is free for residents to use - my kids loved it! The play area is colourful and perfectly adequate, again my kids spent all their time on site in either the play area, the pool or the arcade.
The site shop has all the basics you need. The club house is smart and airy and has cash bingo each night. My hubby enjoyed a morning fishing on site, and there was a golf course on site also.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, from the ladies in reception giving us advice about places to visit, taxi and bus information, to the site maintenance staff who very promptly sorted a problem with the electric supply to our caravan.
The waste bins were never over flowing (we stayed during the bank holiday weekend and the site was full) and the park was always well kept.
The only improvement the site could make in our opinion is regarding the pitches. They are on the small side, not marked out and really need a hard area for your awning as the grass got very boggy.
That aside, we will definitely be returning, and would recommend anyone to stay here. It is a lovely campsite, well priced and ourselves and our children really enjoyed our stay there.

Just returned from a short break here. I can't believe some of the complaints people have added, it almost swayed me against visiting but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try.
I found all the staff extremely helpful and very polite. The swimming pool was fantastic, it's warm, has a great little slide and there is a separate, small, baby pool. My son loved the pool and going there in your costumes with a towel wrapped round you all added to the excitement in his eyes!
The playground is wonderful, old fashioned big slide with bump in the middle, swings, roundabout, see saw and large climbing frame, not sure what the critics found wrong with this? What more could a child want from a playground, my son put off hours there and made lots of new friends.
Water pressure in showers not great but certainly adequate and 20p provided plenty of piping hot water.
The laundry and washing up room was also supplied with plenty of hot water and all of the facilities I gave mentioned above were spotlessly clean.
I was right next to a water point and bin area. It only got full very late at night and staff were around first thing in the morning to clear the rubbish so no complaints there either.
Shop on site was very basic but had what we needed. Staff happily provided directions to a co-op about 3 miles away.
Didn't use the club at all so can't comment on that.
This was all during school holidays as well, so a busy period in the camping calendar.
We will definitely be using this site again, all this for £25 a night (motorhome, 2 adults, two 6 year olds and a two year old)

We came for a long bank holiday break with friends. This was not our first stay here but the first one over a bank holiday weekend.
We were put on the overflow field, but found that they had packed us in very tightly so the caravan, awning and car only just squeezed in. There was a line of units immediately behind us so that when you looked out from the rear of our van, all we could see was a very large blue transit van. This also meant that there was no privacy or any space to sit outside.
On one evening, some of our neighbours were playing music very loudly until quite late so I had to go to Reception to ask for somebody to deal with it. I assume they did as promised and the music finally came to an end half an hour later! When the Bank Holiday was over, most of our neighbours left and the site was much more peaceful. It was nice to be finally able to park our car near the van and leave space for the BBQ and some chairs.
The shower block is quite dated and always seemed to be closed when you needed it most! The cost for a shower is 20p for 5mins, but I found them to be lukewarm, with not enough hooks to hang your clothes and towels.
My husband and sons put their money in and then had to wait for a few minutes for the showers to warm up. When they had finally warmed up, they all got lathered but the showers then switched off! My Husband then had to trek to the Reception to complain, but was not dealt with appropriately by the lady there.
The Clubhouse is very pleasant, although it does get taken over by Bingo at half nine. We did not bother going in since we had stayed at the site before and knew that noise is not welcome when the bingo is on! Also, children are not really welcome after nine, but with three older children this is not ideal so we stayed away.
The boys loved this site. It has a great football field, play area and swimming pool. This is a great bonus for children of all ages, apart from the curfew in the bar.
You can feel quite isolated at the site since there is no wifi, although the mobile signal was ok. This would be something for the site to consider for the future. There are two pubs reasonably near, but you would have to drive since the site is quite high up with no lighted pavements. They offered decent food and welcomed children.
We live quite near to the site but after the fall out over the showers, I do not think we will return again.

Just returned form staying at high moor yet again, this was our 4th visit over 3 years.
This has to be our best/favourite local site, about an hour away. We try to use this site for our 1st trip out and blow the winter cobwebs out of the caravan.
We arrived about 6pm friday. Good Friday and was the last two to arrive on site (my family and my sister's}. Since we knew the layout we knew where to go etc, but this didn't stop the staff on reception being very helpful and making sure we did know where everything was.
We got set up and once my son finally came back from playing in the park which is ideally situated in the middle of the field (caravan 200 yards away all the way round the edge) we popped into the bar and had a game of bingo 50p a book. Then my son and me went down the corridor to play in the small arcade.
Everywhere was spotless clean and tidy, if a little dated. Sat was another scorcher so we used the free swimming pool which we had a great time in, bare in mind though there is no changing rooms so flip flops on trunks and a towel wrapped round an off of we went (I have stated before if you want changing rooms then I suspect the swimming wouldn't be free, I know which I prefer and it works great. )
Our only moan was that tea/supper time its a lottery as to which toilets have any loo roll. Both mens and ladies, you have been warned the toilets are clean very clean but lack loo roll so if you have to go late on take some with you.
To sum up, if all we can complain about is the lack of toilet roll, then it must be a great site and trust me this is a cracking site.

Never again would we visit this site. You are packed in like sardines, the shower block is old dated and the water is luke warm.
The kids playground is again old and dated. No evening entertainment for the kids anfact the kids have to vacate the pub by 9 pm as all the 101 signs say everywhere.
Not one bit impressed with this site I have nothing really nice to say about it other than its in a decent location. Plenty of other sites around this area that are a lot more value for money.
