We stayed for two nights, sat and sun on the last w.End of the May Bank Holiday. Nice place. Very clean and tidy. Pleasant and helpful staff. But we found it to be overpriced. We paid £24 per night for 2 adults and 2 kids in a motorhome with hook up but no awning. Which I wouldn't mind paying ordinarily but then you have to pay for the showers (20p. Although you do get a fair amount of time)and 20p for the hairdryer (which didn't really dry my long hair) the bar closed at 11pm sharp, and they were putting chairs up next to you at 11.05! The bar food was ok, but it really was just that, bar food. You wouldn't have been able to eat a meal sat at a small round pub table. Then to top it off after around lunch time on sun, everything shut! even the kids room closed (which is separate from the bar area) so we thought we would get a taxi to the nearest pub to have an evening meal, which is 2miles away. The taxi firm charged us £7.00! one way. Apparently because the site is 'out of town' so we walked back! which was very unpleasant as there are no footpaths and the cars were speeding past us
On the plus side there is loads of room for the kids to play and the dog walk, which is like a wooded area that runs round the edge of the site, is great. I dare say that if you go during the school holidays everything will be open. One thing my hubby wasn't happy about either was that they locked the gates to the park at night, so if you drive to the local pub you'd better be back before they lock them gates! or you'll have to park the car in the visitors car park, and leave it there till morning.

Although we read most of the reviews from previous years, we thought it must have improved, so we booked a seasonal pitch for the year.
On the whole we found the site a pleasant enough place to spend our weekends. 2008 was a very wet year and the site does not like rain, it seems to hold the water everywhere.
We found the toilets and showers very good and the 20p goes a long way under the shower! The main reason we chose the site was for its pool which my wife and young lad made the most of. The site seemed to get it's fair share of wind too, those wind turbines are suitably situated!
On the down side we found the site to be costly for the season's pitch and £90 odd pounds for electric means we won't be staying there for a season again.
The playground when dry was excellent and the bar very friendly, unless you happen to sit in a seat that a 'resident static owner' sits! We overheard 'comments' and got 'looks' that made it quite clear we were on someone else's 'pitch'!
We had no problems with the staff who were always helpful and polite.
To sum up the site would be to say, 'a costly pitch but friendly people'.

We have been to this site quite a few times over the years and have never had any problems. Just been for the weekend recently, toilets and showers clean with plenty of hot water. Large playground and games room for older children, swimming pool is just a nice size and never seems over full, even when site is busy. Dog walk is ideal, you can let them off as its all fenced in, watch out for the deer.
Meals, in the pub are fantastic value and the portion sizes are generous.
A short drive takes you to Bolton Abbey and Brimham rocks.

We were worried by the negative reviews, however we have just returned from a pleasant stay at the campsite! Tourers were arranged around the edge of large field the centre remained empty so did not feel squashed in plenty of space. The pool was clean as were toilets and showers. The dog walks were clean and very nice, either the tree walk which was well mown to walk on or the woodland walk which was actually paved !
The club house served huge meals which were very nice and resonably priced. The site is central to many places which we visited. Yes there were wind turbines but they were well away from the site and not an eyesore from our tourer. The staff were more than helpful and NICE people. When asked what time we should leave by on Sunday we were told to stay as long as we liked as nobody was booked on our pitch ! yYes we would definitely return to this site.

We went to this park as a trial run after we bought our caravan. It's only a few miles from where we live. This park is fantastic for the kids. You can see the slide and park from almost all the pitches. The showers and toilets are clean. The best bit for us having three kids is the pool. They loved it and it wasn't too crowded. The bar does good food and its quite reasonable and there's a games room too.
I cant rate it highly enough and Harrogate is a lovely place to visit. I am slightly biased as I live here but I moved from London to be here.

We came here because of the star rating in the CCC handbook which means it has a good report by a CCC member. We cannot endorse that recommendation, finding it a site with no charm that we didn't enjoy visiting in any way. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting a restful holiday in peace and quiet.
It's a very expensive site (almost the most expensive in our week's touring North Yorkshire), and you pay over that for the showers (20p). There's no soap dispenser so you can't wash your hands after the loo unless you take your own - this is penny-pinching given the fee. We were so tightly crowded in rows at the minimum spacing, that we were told which way to line up the motorhome so all back doors open on the same side. If a caravan had an awning, the car was almost touching the next caravan. Good point is that the grass is paved with firepath blocks so it looks like grass but is solid when wet. We were in the innermost (third) row, close to the entertainment block so everyone going to and from the bingo or pool went close by our door.
BUT this may be just the site for you if you want.
- a club/bar on site serving meals and doing bingo and other entertainment. (We'd rather walk to a pretty pub off site but there were none.)
- a pool for the children.
- to be able to see and hear children on the central play equipment from all corners of the huge open field.
There are 3 dog runs - the one behind the site is in dank dark woodland over-run with nettles and dog cr*p that other owners haven't picked up. The run behind the overspill site (closed in June) is more pleasant - mown grass, sunny, clean. The best dog run is half way down the drive, where there's a field planted with young trees and an energetic dog can run around after the smells. Bizarrely, there are picnic tables here too - possibly because there is no room for them by the motorhomes and caravans where you might expect them.
There are no views out of the site (except from the dog walks). Four wind turbines overlook the site, one of which is lit at night - some folk like them, others don't. Personally, I came to find the constant motion unrestful yet compelling to watch, and it was a contributory factor in our leaving. But we won't come again. We'd go back to nearby Ripley, which we moved to when we couldn't stand this site any more. We were in the area for the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr by Harrogate, which is also well worth a visit.

First time to this site and was a last minute booking so didn't really know what we were in for. But all I can say is that this site is Fantastic. You can't get much better.
We have a 3 and 2 year old and they loved it, especially if you get sited on the green facing the park. Facilities are clean, you do have to pay 20p for a shower I was a bit sceptic about this as I have to shower the little one's also, but I was in out dried and dressed with a 3year old and myself and the shower was still going so it is value for money. All facilities are cleaned regularly.
Indoor swimming pool is fantastic with slide and baby pool (all free)
On site shop which stocks a variety of items. Club house which serves great food and has bingo and music on at night and not at all bothered about the kids dancing but you do have to watch that waitresses aren't walking with food.
Games room with juke box, pool tables etc.
Massive long dog walk and also another playing field.
Lake with carp weiging up to 32lb you do have to pay to fish, there is also golf but again you have to pay.
All in all this site is brill & has everything for the whole family and everybody is so so nice.
We have cancelled are hols in July and have re-booked back here we enjoyed it that much and hopefully going back next weekend too.
Prices are about £21.25 although if children over 4 there is a supplement but the price we paid included awning electric etc. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS SITE.

We went for spring bank holiday weekend, the site is very nice, but I wish we would have been on the field where the park was it was much better laid out. The shower blocks were excellent although you have to get undressed before you put in your 20p for a shower. The only downfall was there were no changing rooms in the swimming pool, you had to walk up the the pool in your swim wear and back in your wet things. Every one we met on site were very very friendly we will definitely go back again.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews. If the criticisms were valid twelve months ago they certainly aren't valid now. High Moor Farm Park is an excellent, well run site with easy access and first class facilities. The grumpy staff have either cheered up or left because we found everyone, reception, shop and bar staff to be without exception friendly, helpful and pleasant. Not allowing prams or pushchairs in the bar makes sense from a safety point of view but otherwise children seemed to be welcome on the site and well catered for. We had a pitch in the bottom field, which is quieter than the top field where the children's playground, statics and permanently sited caravans are. If the site was full the pitches would probably feel a little bit tight for space but it wasn't a problem during our visit. We booked at High Moor with some misgivings because we wanted a site close to Harrogate but we couldn't have been more pleasantly suprised. And one thing everyone is right about - the food is great!

Did not have a good start, Receptionist questioned my booking of 2 units - 1 caravan 1 motor-home as she answered phone booking, requirements were made clear on telephone, but she was adamant she was right. I would not travel 60 miles and not take a chance on motorhome being acceptable, Some Welcome ! Members have left various comments regarding the poor attitude of staff which at times is very aggressive and confrontational. The reason for getting away is to unwind and not be harassed. Never had 1 problem in 12 months travelling. Even the 2 units could not face each and the receptionist was over again quoting fire regs. In hindsight we should have moved on at that point but we were only staying 1 night. In fairness the toilets were very clean and the pool ok although no changing rooms, only the clubhouse toilets ? Everyone was was walking across the site to toilet block wrapped in towels. No tv in clubhouse and had to travel into harrogate to see England v Germany on Terrestial TV. Awoken following morning at 0820am by grinding and welding of damaged playground equipment - another great start to the day. Payed £44 for pitch and put and were confronted again for having a family member who was not playing walking with us, we should have left this member of family back at the van. We left at this point, never to darken High Moor Farm Parks prison camp.
