Cheap enough, You get a little more than you pay for. Yes the site could do with an update ! however personally I wouldn't ! Its wonderful just how it is with bags of character and charm, most of all which is a must is that its always clean.
Massive field for the kids to play in with swings and slides etc.
Once again a great weekend many thanks to all staff on site who are always pleasant and helpful, would of been better if we won at bingo but I suppose we might win next time we visit.

We enjoyed our stay here. We came with friends and were pitched close to each other but it did seem as though there wasn't much room between each caravan. We only have a porch awning so not really a problem but if you have a full size one then hopefully you would have friendly neighbours!
It was quiet and friendly. The swimming pool was great and the kids enjoyed it but the only down side is the lack of changing facilities. The weather wasn't the warmest so by the time they'd ran back to the caravan they were cold.
The toilet and shower facilities were large and clean but really cold. I couldn't see any form of heater anywhere so when you got out of the shower there was no hanging about. A long shower for 20p and very nice although the water kept going luke warm but pleasant enough and there was a lack of space and hooks to hang clothes and towels on. Maybe a chair or something would help and you wouldn't have to feel like a juggler. I was told by our friend that in the male block the slot for the 20p for the shower was a hole in the back of the shower itself that you had to put your hand right in to find it and put your money in.
All in all though we did enjoy and would probably return.

First outing with caravan this year. We were booked onto the bottom field as the site was very busy. All I can say is mud! This field has completely inadequate drainage, vans and cars had to be towed on to this area, by tractor, on arrival. In my opinion, this field should not have been opened as it was not suitable (apparently this field will be closed after the Bank Holiday weekend and plenty of takings!)
This is a decent enough site, with friendly staff, but it is very expensive for what it is - only book a hard standing pitch if you visit here!

Stayed here for a couple of nights en route home from the North.
Pitches seemed small and, as mentioned in other reviews the toilets/showers was awash in mud and quickly ran out of toilet paper.
Showers were 20p. Hairdryers were 20p. There was a socket so you could use your own hairdryer but it too cost 20p. There was a big laundry room with sinks dedicated for washing up and as baby baths as well as for clothes washing and irons were available but cost ( you've guessed!) 20p.
Pool was a bit cold and we had to change in the loo as it was too cold to walk around the site in swimming costumes.
The club house was ok, but the food was very much 'chips with everything'.

Second visit here, I told you I would be back. !
Just like the first visit but with toilet paper ! no worries at all great site close to otley, ripon, harrogate.
Free swimming pool kids loved it ( no changing rooms ) however did YOU want to pay for them to be built ! games room, which is bigger than most. Good shop on site, good club, good bingo ( but remember to be quiet ! )
Kids are not made welcome in the club however they are aloud, pitch is a little on the small side ( might be a problem IF you have a 27ft tourer and a hummer )
I'll finish with what I said last visit. We'll be back more good points than bad.

Site and Facilities are excellent, pool was fine, play area good, toilet & shower block adequate. If you have kids don't use the club unless you want to feel like a nuisance. We only used it on the first night, I was stood at the bar with my six year old daughter holding her hand, my wife was using the toilet, I was told she had to stand behind the line. The club is one of the best I have seen for a campsite, but they play Bingo at 9:30 every night, food is served between 7 - 9pm (which is also not very considerate for kids). I can't understand why they don't have acts or at least a disco, maybe the highly polished dance floor which they are not keen on people using would get dirty. The site is fine, clean tidy well presented, just a shame about the club if you have kids.

We stayed on this site over the bank holiday for the week, late booking as were driving round Yorkshire after arriving at the site we had booked on and left as it was that bad ( so much for 5 star) Anyway back to High Moor they managed to pitch us and my sister next to each other which was great, we were on the over flow field which I think is the nicest of the two touring areas. Pitches can be a bit tight but we had nobody in front of use so it wasn't a problem Toilets clean 99% of the time, but the problem often is people who use them.
Large field for ball games with footie goals (big ones), dog walk area nice (we have no dog, just kids)swimming pool great, bar spotless.
You can walk into Harragote but for about 2.5 miles (ish) near to the site there is no path and on the A59 cars and lorries don't drive slow. The Nelson pub food great about 1.5miles from site towards Harragote. Ripley Castle/ village nice to walk around, the icecream shop is a must, little gift shop sells local walk books, we had great fun walking through farms and fields full of calves. Brimham Rocks is not far away ( national trust) kids loved climbing up and over all the huge rocks great day out. We would return to this site.Site also has Golf and fishing

Just stayed one night 24th July. Quite expensive. Very busy as you would expect for school holidays. Kids playground great. Swimming pool Ok but cold! No changing rooms. Games room dated and could do with a really good clean. Ladies toilets near swimming pool not very clean and again dated.
Now for really bad point - ladies shower facilities! Floor really dirty, cleaning lady was busy sweeping the floor NOT mopping which is what it needed. Showers themselves are again dated and I think for the price you pay for the site per night, the showers should be free.
My husband said the men's showers were OK but obviously I couldn't comment.
Another point, make sure you park your caravan correctly cos the site owner walks round inspecting how you've parked and if you haven't done it right she will stand there and make you move it!
Bar/restaurant area fine and meals are pub food quality but nice. Again all a little dated!
For the price you pay per night, I would expect better.
Plenty to do in the area, Bolton Abbey and surroundings great for exploring in good weather.

Having purchased another caravan we was desperate to get off and use it, somewhere local for us.
On this site there was ample of space for our 5 year old lad to roam around on his bike and make friends, under the watchful eye of one of us!
There is a free swimming pool on site which is bigger than average. However there is no changing rooms so there was a constant stream of kids and the occasional adult. This didn't cause us a problem and didn't mind walking to the pool in our swim gear wrapped in a towel seeing how there was no charge.
There was also a games room with plenty of games on fruit machines and pool tables plus a jukebox.
A decent shop for all your daily needs and a club again average size if not bigger that played a game bingo each night.
Bad points!
It was bank holiday weekend so may be different at other times !
Mens toilets we nearly spotless very clean, womens not so good (apparently) lack of loo roll and generally not spotless
Pitch ! extremely tight where we were. We was supposed to park caravan awning car, there was nowhere for my car so had to park in front of the caravan. Not major but I would not of even tempted to reverse the caravan on to its pitch had the pitch in front been full.
All in all I enjoyed the stay ! had a good weekend but could of been better.

This was our first time to any site as we are new to caravanning. Didn't know what to expect and a bit worried by some of the previous mixed reviews.
I thought the site was well organised and the staff very helpful. Its easily accessible in a great location - Harrogate only 4 miles away.
We stayed on the overflow field, not too crowded, nice view of field opposite, pitched next to my brother's family which is what we wanted. Pitched near to hook-up, tap and bin - no problems.
Dog walk very good with a view at the end of the nearby wind turbines, not everybodies cup of tea but I like them. Some well behaved dogs were off the lead in our field and played a game of 'football' with various kids - quite entertaining.
Our kids liked the games room, and I understand you can go fishing too - but not there long enough to try this.
Pool bigger and warmer than I expected, with a great slide and bench for parents to supervise if need be which is a good job
No changing rooms meaning you have to walk across the site to the shower block wrapped in towels. Not too much of a chore in good weather.
However, when we got there cleaners wouldn't let us in as they shut it for an hour for cleaning. This was at 10.30 in the morning on a bank holiday - we had to walk across next field (in not brilliant weather) to the shower block. They were clean and warm enough with plenty of water - 20p charge. Unfortunately the first shower we tried, didn't work so had to borrow another 20p off a stranger who took pity on us. Would rather pay a bit more on fees than have this inconvenience, and would suggest cleaning takes place on an afternoon, or very early morning rather than at peak times :-)
Having said this we would definitely return now we know what to expect.
