Well what can I say I we had booked to go to high moor park farm before we read the reviews of the campsite and I must say I was not looking forward to it but on arrival 1 The staff seemed very helpful I did think was this a one off but as my stay went on they could not do enough for us and made our stay a very relaxing brake as for children not being aloud up to the bar they was strict with this but that is a good thing as people could not move round them at there most busy time I did not see any children get shouted at for running around on the dance floor 2 The food is out of this world there big portons there mixed grill should come on 2 plates its that big and the food it self is gorgeous we ate there and not one of us had a complain 3 toilet blocks and showers where very clean and well mainted the showers where hot not once did we have a cold shower you have to pay 20p for seven minutes but that is long enough for washing your hair and a wash 4 childrens playground is good there is swings and a climbing frame and a large slide 5 The swimming pool is very good to but children under 14 can not go in alone the slide in the pool brakes up the boredom 6 The site its self for your caravan is tight they do seem to pack you in tight but we did not find this a problem my overview of this campsite and the people that run it is very good I would go back in a flash as we did enjoy our stay

Having been looking for somewhere to go this weekend I find myself reading previous reviews in the hope things have changed. They haven't. This site is ideally situated for me and has all the amenities I love park for kids, pub simming pool what more can on ask for . Only problem, the owners are miserable buggers who have no qualms about screaming at you or your children in front of others and embarrassing you. Believe it or not it is not just visitors, I have heard many a resident state they are fed up of the attitude of staff and are leaving. Showers are not free and often cold. Staff are miserable. Bottom field gets flooded. No changing rooms Food fantastic If you don't like children have a rule, no children under 5 on the site. I am still amazed why anyone with kids goes here. They are obviously not bothered as they don't change. Oh if you have been once and not been shouted at don't worry they will get you next time just because they smiled at you once on reception (yes they did honest ) doesn't mean they won't get you next time. Helen seven visits three clean sheets four shouts.

March 2005 Here with a group of friends for Easter, all with caravans. Sited by tractor on arrival, even though we have 4 wheel drive vehicles - not a sign of good drainage to begin with, and, after 2 days of further rain, the whole place became a complete mud bath. Owners say they have recently improved the drainage, but there was no evidence of this. Pitches very close together, luckily we all knew each other, but would have been invasive with strangers. Large swimming pool with no changing facilities - may be ok in the mediterranean, but not in northern england, when users are expected to run back to their tents/vans dripping wet. We were told off by the owners for driving our 4-wheelers across the grass to get out - necessary due to stuck and stranded vehicles blocking the access roads. But it was assumed that we had caused the damage to the grass, when in fact it was done by outfits arriving later during the weekend. The owners may have prevented some of the damage, had they allowed us to pull onto the pitches, rather than insist that we all reversed onto them! One of our party went to complain at the office about the state of things, but they seemed indifferent. No one came to speak to us about our concerns, no one apologised, and "help" was noticeably absent, as we all attempted to de-camp and go home. The toilet block closed for 2 hours every day at what most campers would deem as peak useage times (10. 30-12. 30). Surely it would make more sense to clean them in the afternoons, when most people have gone out for the day, or completed their ablutions? Having various kids of all ages, we were surprised that even they were complaining about the state of the games area and the lack of facilities and equipment. The only thing in this site's favour is its location - it is easy to get to, and, it's close proximity to the main tourist areas of Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon etc. Overall, we felt that this was a dismal site, definitely not worth the money, and we shall not be returning.

This must be the most unfriendly site for children I have ever been to. The only people that were pleasant were the ladies in the shop. The clubhouse on site served lovely meals but the staff behind the bar, mainly the old lady was just waiting for the kids to put a foot out of place ,usually by just getting out of their seat which ours did and of course she was straight over with attitude . We left our drinks in the end because we were so nervous she did nothing but stare at the kids waiting .

Start with the good points, the food is very nice and reasonably priced. Now the bad: caravans and tents crammed together, toilets reasonably clean but nowhere to put your clothes when you have a shower so everything gets wet, this costs you 20p and the water trickles out. The staff seem to prefer the locals and you feel like an outcast if you have kids. You can't take prams into the bar but then you get wrong for letting the kids on the dance-floor. As someone else said who got told off for letting his 2 year old on the dancefloor "what am I supposed to do chain her up?". If there was some entertainment for the kids this wouldn't be a problem, but there is no entertainment at all, bingo is played every night for half an hour, even at bank holiday weekends.

Stayed here last weekend everything was great, the receptionists were cheerful and helpful, the pitch was plenty big enough overlooking the play area where my daughter spent all her time. Toilets and showers were in excellent condition spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water (the 20p goes a long way). The clubhouse was clean and friendly, food was superb and plenty of it, dog walk was great, just a pity they could not be exercised off lead. The golf course was challenging, Fishing looked good in a beautiful setting, Swimming pool lovely and warm the absents of changing rooms did not bother us as we were very near the pool and it was a hot day.
So all in all everything was perfect ??? Not everything; The park provides a big football pitch away from the pitching area where ball games are supposed to be played, So why did we spend all our time complaining about leather footballs being kicked all over the touring area hitting people, cars, and caravans, The staff were great telling the children and teenagers to move to the playing field which they did for ten minutes , then came back. So what other wise could of been a perfect break was spoilt by a few parents not supervising their children. We would stay again, but in the bottom field.

We booked this site, as we left it a little late in booking up for the bank holiday weekend, and this was the only site which had places left. After booking, I read the reviews about the site and thought "oh well, it's better than staying at home" - how WRONG I was! The site is ,as already stated, very regimented and you are told on arrival how and in which order to park your unit car etc. The pitches are very close together and it looks more like a storage facility with every one packed in.so tightly. The pool is good, but the "so called" life guard needs to get his priorities right and instead of flirting with young women - keep his eyes on the swimmers! Our kids who are 14, 13 and 10 were in the pool, and as I nipped next door to the shop for a paper, I came back to find them shivering on the side of the pool after being told to get out as I wasn't there supervising them! We did not try the bar as we were informed most of the seats were reserved for the static users. At 20.00 per night, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Vvisited this site Easter weekend for five nights. This site could be a really good site if it were not for a few problems we experienced. First of all,the pitches are the tightest we have seen. We were next to the bin area so our car did not fit at the side of our awning. No changing rooms in the swimming pool was a big problem with your kids. The showers were OK, but sometimes cold. When I notified reception about this problem I was told there was a problem with the boiler which was now fixed.
All in all a fairly good site, but owners should consider employing new staff who can smile and be friendly with there customers who are paying a lot of money to stay here.

Visited this site on Bank Holiday weekend. The site was very clean and well maintained. Toilets were clean, however at busy times toilet roll was in limited supply! Swimming pool was great, but there are no changing facilities available. The Shop sells basic provisions. Overall I would say this site is worth a visit. (top field is the best).

My husband I and the children along with a few of our friends, arrived for our five day stay. The pitch we were allocated was in a great area, opposite the park and just a short walk away from all the amenities. Our problems started as follows:- Indoor Pool:- No changing facilities, we had to get changed at the poolside or in the toilets, or alternatively we had to go ready dressed in our swimming costumes. The Bar:- No entertainment on for the children, bearing in mind, this was a bank holiday weekend. Bingo was on for the adults, from 9.30pm till 10pm. The children were told off for dancing on the dance floor, even though they had music playing. (This was because they did'nt stop serving food till 9.30pm and access was needed across the wooden floor). BE AWARE, CHILDREN ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO STAND ON THE TILED AREA AROUND THE BAR. What we would like to see, is some sort of entertainment for the children, and for the staff to be more child friendly. Food was good, try the mixed grill, it's huge! great value for money. Could have done with some food on during the day though!
The toilet blocks and laundry were very clean, although we did'nt agree to having to pay 20p for seven minutes in the shower. The park was great, it kept the kids entertained for hours and If any problems arose during our stay they were dealt with within 10-15mins. Apart from these few problems, we all enjoyed ourselves. We would go back, if there was some sort of entertainment for the children.
