Lovely, well kept site, friendly staff.

We stayed on a sunny, busy August bank holiday and although busy, the site is large and didn't feel overcrowded. We had a campervan and awning, stayed on a grass pitch with ehu, pitch 30. We needed to level the van with one block.

The site is nicely separated into smaller fields and mature hedged areas so it doesn't feel too huge.

The shower blocks are particularly nice, very modern, clean and each cubicle is very spacious with a large changing area in each one.

This isn't a 'holiday park' type camp site, it's quiet, surrounded by beautiful countryside, scenery and nature and is a short distance from the beautiful beaches.

We did several beautiful walks from the site, to Lyme Regis and Charmouth, we caught the bus back and got a taxi once cost £10. The reception has maps to follow and there are lots of heritage trails to follow.

There's a lovely forest walk at night which is lit with fairy lights in the trees, very magical.

I noticed a couple of children's play areas and nature trails.

There's no on site bar or restaurant but at weekends they advertised a fri night fish n chip van, sat night pizza van.

There are basic supplies available in the reception shop.

Nearest bus stop is one mile walk. This is also the nearest pub. Some people may feel cut off here as there's no little village to walk to.

Both Lyme Regis and Charmouth have lovely beaches. Lyme Regis has nice restaurants and pubs and some nice shops to wander around. We bought fresh fish from a great fishmongers in LR near The Cobb that stays open until 1900 ish.

Lots of fishing trips available in Lyme Regis.

The car park just on the hill before you reach Lyme Regis is only £2. 50 for a whole day.

This is a c&c site and as we're not members, paid quite a steep price but it was a bank holiday. I'd recommend this site.

Excellent facilities, only disappointed that we had to go to the paddock to let the dogs off lead. We always clean up after our dogs & feel once again that we pay the penalty for those who don't.

We received a lovely, friendly welcome. We enjoyed fish & chips from the visiting van & a burger from the FOLK van. The site is well situated for Lyme Regis, Charmouth etc.

While there we walked over 75miles on the coastal path & countryside, very lovely, if not a little hilly. It is a site I wouldn't hesitate to go back too.

Just spent 9 glorious nights at this site,

Really excellent facilities,

Staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly, quiet and relaxing,

Will certainly go back,

Lovely little shop on site,

There is a bus stop approx one mile away, but it's a pleasant walk, and there is a lovely pub by the bus stop.

First time at a camping and caravan club site. If this is there standard will definitely be booking onto another.

Staff very friendly welcoming and helpful. Big well laid out site. Shower, toilets, laundry and washing up facilities 1st class. Big flat level pitches even though the site was terraced.

Dog friendly with on site walk and paddock just opposite. Have already recommended it to friends and family

Stayed here in July, lovely site, half a mile up a road, off the main A35, so very quiet, nice large pitches. Hard standing with small shale topping, this got everywhere in awning.

You needed rock pegs for the awning & due to the hot weather when we came to take it down the underneath of the pitch had melted & was like putty & sticky.

The toilet block is one of the best we have seen, very large showers & changing area. There was a fish & chip van on site all the time near the toilet block, but not sure if it was open every day. The walk to the bus stop was approx. A mile + away. We walked it one day to catch the bus to Bridport, the rest of the time we used the car.

We found the parking charges reasonable. Loved the walk on Lyme Regis beach & found a few fossils, so if you like fossil hunting take a rock hammer with you.

Even though we booked this site in error, believing it was a site we looked around last year, we were very pleased we did,

Friendly staff,

Very clean and enjoyable site with excellent facilities,

Will definitely visit again, especially if they install a ping pong table for the kids.

I loved this site. There were some issues which stopped it being 10 out of 10 but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Check in was fine (although very slightly chaotic as they appeared to be short staffed) with a very friendly staff member. We were given a choice of pitches.

We chose one in a small paddock with 4 hardstandings and about 6 EHU grass tent pitches. The grass pitches were being rested after the summer so we had a lovely view across the paddock to a wood where the dog walk was.

The internal access road was behind our van, screened off by a 6 to 8 foot high hedge. We had booked an oversize pitch (our tiny van's awning is off the back which makes it very long) which meant we were on a smaller pea shingle than the standard hardstandings. This was fairly easy to peg into.

The pitch sloped both fore and aft and side to side. It wasn't a massive slope but it meant we had to deploy the ramp for one wheel and the awning rail was a bit of a stretch from our double step. We coped easily however (only our 5th time pitching so we were quite proud of ourselves).

The site itself is very attractive. It is large but split up into smaller fields and paddocks. The whole site is spread over the hill side so I doubt there are many level spots. The landscaping is also very attractive.

The toilet block was very impressive. The showers are press button but each press gives a good length of time and the water was roasting! Lovely after a day's walking. The block has been refurbished and the showers finished in oversize marble tiles which wouldn't be out of place in an upmarket spa or gym.

The block was kept clean, even during wet weather which meant an enormous amount of grass and mud was walked in by the grass pitch users. The only let down was the toilets, several of which suffered from a weak flush and very slow cistern fill which meant they were rarely as clean as they could have been.

Like some other reviewers we were let down by the food man (despite checking with him the day before that he would be there). We discovered that Axminster isn't a restaurant Mecca on a Sunday evening although we did manage to find a good chippy which was open.

The location is excellent. We had great fun exploring the Jurassic coast from there. Axminster (with a big Tesco and a Hugh Fernely-Whittingstone restaurant) is a 10 minute drive away. Lyme Regis (with all its tourist attractions) a bit further in the opposite direction.

My husband wasn't too impressed with the water arrangements. You need to walk across grass to get to the taps so, inevitably, the area around the taps was a sea of mud. Also, the clean and grey water share a grid (although the taps are either side of a low brick wall) which he didn't think was too hygienic. The CDP however, was clean and effective.

The shop was a bit odd. It had a reasonable selection of emergency caravan bits and bobs (fuses etc) but a really poor selection of food (unless you want to live on Mr Kipling cakes and malt loaf). I have seen much smaller shops with a better range of food, especially fresh. (My husband has just pointed out this might just be because it was the end of the season).

The wifi was expensive (although a C&CC site they do not participate in their wifi scheme) at £15 for one device for a week, but it was very powerful. There was a mast in the centre of our paddock (not sure how many others there were) so we had a fantastic signal.

All in all, I loved it and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this part of the country.

We arrived on site after a 3 hour journey to meet with friends, who had arrived several days earlier. We were shown to a grass pitch with Electric. Our unit a a twin axle touring caravan about 23' long. Due to the slope, when we tried to level off, we couldn't as the front was touching the ground and the back was as high as it could go and to make matters worse the ground was so wet and slipperey that we slid on the slope.

I went to reception and spoke with staff and explained the issue. This was met with 'We can issue you with a refund and you can stay elsewhere'. Which was not very helpful to say the least. I asked the receptionist name and she identified herself as the office manager. I asked why we could not have been pre-warned of the grass pitched areas. Her reply was, 'we can't be expected to notify 200 people'. When in fact their are only 34 grassed pitches with Electric.

So we had to make the best of a bad situation. But because of the water logged grass and smelly mud, this meant cleaning the dogs paws every-time they returned to the caravan. Replacing the pads twice daily to soak up the dirt and mud. I've never seen my car and caravan so dirty.

Not once during our week long stay were we offered an alternative pitch, though we saw several vacant.

The on-site Pizza and fish and chips cannot be relied on, as on two separate occasions they did not open, so in the end we did our own thing and went into near-by Axminster and had a meal at the nearby Hunters Lodge, which I would recommend.

The main shower block is kept clean and tidy and is very modern, some of the inner shower cubicles do not drain that well and therefore would recommend using the outer. The other shower block near the bottom (next to pitch 86) is in need of modernization, funnily enough, on nearby boarding there are plans for the new block to be completed for the 2017 season.

If camping be advised there is a rental charge of £1. 00 for a freezer block and a 0. 50p charge to freeze.

On a positive note the site is nicely laid out and well positioned and with a few minor tweaks would warrant a higher rating. However avoid the grassed pitches, unless we have a very very dry season. Also some of the pitches with hard standings, set a side for large outfits, are not used for that purpose.

We have been visiting the site over 3 years because it is always kept clean. The pitches are of a generous size. The site is well located to go around the area.

The staff have been very helpful at all times. Dave the site supervisor is always ready to accommodate requests. The new shower facility when ready will make a remarkable difference.

The dog walk area is superb. Highly recommend.
