Excellent site, very well maintained to a high standard, clean and spacious toilet blocks, and friendly and helpful staff.
We spent 2 nights over the May half term so it was quite full (the weather was glorious). The site was quite full, but our pitch was huge. It was on a slight slope but nothing problematic for the tent. Lots if space and a large field area in front for the kids to play on within our sight. There is a play area which did get quite busy during the evenings but also attracted some older children (ours are 7, 7 and 10, the older kids were probably 13-14 and a touch rowdy for our lot). Apparently there is another play area on the site but we did not go looking for it so can't confirm this.
The toilet block was also very spacious, we did not find it busy and did not have to wait. It was incredibly clean, the staff do a fantastic job.
The site has a shop in which we bought some new rubbers (ours had started to perish over the winter) and a small football. Basic necessities plus a few play bits and pieces. Again the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The area is great. We spent a morning at the Donkey Sanctuary (free entry, but leave a donation) followed by lunch at the Blue Ball in Sidmouth (Steak and Kidney Pudding, best ever) then the afternoon on the beach at Lyme Regis. There has been a lot of work at the sea front in Lyme, we were very surprised at how great it was. Again very busy, but we managed to park just fine.
We will be visiting again - great area and great campsite.

We visited this campsite with friends in May and had a wonderful time.
Received a very warm welcome and shown to our pitch by a friendly man who told us everything we needed to know.
The campsite was very, very clean and well maintained. Probably the best facilities I've seen in a campsite. Pitches very spacious and good playground for the kids.
Excellent location for visiting the beaches at Lyme Regis and Charmouth.
The only slight criticism I have is that we stayed on one of their new all weather pitches. This was a covering of a mixture of tiny bits of grit and rubber which got everywhere. I was constantly having to sweep it out of the tent. So if good weather stay on a grass pitch.

This is an excellent site. Pitches are large and well maintained. Facilities are very clean and well maintained. Good play parks for younger children. Site is quiet with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Site staff are very friendly and helpful. Would strongly recommend this site.

We stayed one night in June 2007. The site was very quiet, friendly, spacious and nicely landscaped with excellent toilet / shower facilities, and it was reasonably priced. There is a very small shop selling absolute basics (I bought some gas and an ice cream there, but I can't remember what else it had!).
As a base from which to visit Charmouth, Lyme Regis and environs, this site is excellent. However, if you want more facilities (bar, restaurant, pool, club etc.) then it's not for you.

We just came back after having 2 tent pitches in the over flow field(which unlike any other is right by the main reception and very convenient for all facilities). This is a fantastic site with very clean toilets and showers, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were unable to use our electric hook up due to having been sold the wrong type by some dodgy chap and so the staff refunded us and charged up our mobiles! The play areas( there are 2) kept our kids aged 7-12 amused, and my only wish was for a little shop! oh and some sunshine, but I don't suppose we can do much about that! The site was full when we stopped but the pitches are generous and noise levels low, all in all an extremely well designed site.

What a fantastic site - although wet when we arrived (and got monsoon like the following day) the wardens helped us find the right pitch that would ensure we stayed dry. A lovely quiet site with two fantastic playgrounds which kept the children occupied for hours and spotless toilet facilities. Our pitch was at the top of the hill on the camping field which meant we got no evening sun and also a little noise from the A35 (neither bothered us but if you want sun and complete quiet try and avoid the top of the field). Only criticism was that the dryers took ages to dry clothes and there was always a queue - top tip, use the launderette in nearby Axminster if you need to dry things fast. We will definitely visit again - maybe see you there!

The staff at this site were all very friendly and helpful . When we arrived we were quickly shown a selection of pitches that were available and we eventualy chose one on the top field not to far from the toilet block, which incidentally were allways clean with free hot showers. The site is well maintained and has ample space between pitches, and on the top fields the pitches are arranged around the edge of the field leaving a large area of grass for children to play and adults to sit and chill in exellent . We had a great week at Monton Wylde and wouldn,t hesitate to return thanks to all concerned.

We had a lovely week hear.
Facilities were excellent. FREE showers and hot water for washing up.
Nice playgrounds for children and my 10 year old loved the trampolines!
Toilet/laundry/washing up block was always very clean - even after bad weather. (they provided buckets and clothes to clean up any mess you might make. Plenty of loo roll in the toilets. Also had a separate family showering area which was brilliant.
The block is fairly central so no one really has to walk any great distance. Handy at midnight when your 3 year old wakes up needing a wee!
The only downsides were the A35 running past the campsite (bit noisy at times although perfectly safe for children) and although most staff were very accommodating and helpful (we managed to extend our stay and come early at very short notice) some of the staff weren't very friendly.
Separate dog walking area
Charmouth lovely but car park for beach gets busy very quickly in good weather. There is also a camping store in Charmouth if you need extra gear or fancy a new caravan!
Families should check out the George Inn in Charmouth. Food not brilliant but huge garden area and lots of play equipment for children
Not so handy for Weymouth etc but still plenty to do Would Definitely stay here again.

Our first trip in camper van and had warm welcome from site managers. Very helpful and friendly.Loos and showers terrific. We were encouraged to visit bluebells in wood across lane through farm yard and they were absolutely wonderful! Wouldn't have missed it! Good centre for Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seaton and climbing up Pilsden Pen. Will return.

We have stayed at Monkton Wyld Caravan Park several times this season including two weeks in August. The site is beautifully landscaped with very spacious pitches. Even when full the site never feels crowded. The site wardens and owners are very friendly and helpful and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area and local events. We stayed at the site for Lyme Regis Jazz, the RNLI Lifeboat week at Lyme, Axminster Beer Festival and Axminster Carnival. The site is well placed to visit Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Beer and Sidmouth. Well worth a visit is the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth and Bicton Gardens. We found the information room on the site very useful as we were new to this area. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean and the rustic washing up room has proved a valuable source of information as everybody chats about their day as they are washing up! The peace and quiet offered by this lovely site will ensure we will return again and again.
