Excellent campsite in every sense: staff, shower and washing facilities, play equipment and pool; and the location. We had a tent pitch just off the cliff, but fortunately there wasn't too much wind when we were there. To be honest, even if there had been it would have been worth taking the risk just to have that view every morning and evening. One word of warning, we hit a stone fallen from a wall into the entry road and blew a tyre. So keep your speed down!

Just returned from a two week rally on this lovely site, off the 487 we took the second turning which was suggested by all the reviews along the lane with not many passing places but well worth it when you come to top of hill to be met by the views of the sea the staff welcomed us give us loo/shower keys took us to our pitch which is on a slope bit of a worry as never pitched up a slope but no need to worry as staff unhooked caravan put it up on breeze blocks even put the legs down what a relief that was. We were ready to start our holiday looking at the sea, the showers and loos was always clean with plenty of hot water, the laundry was handy nice washing machines and dryers, the heated pool was lovely too with even an outdoor shower, nice walks around the woodland and gardens, we did have the wind blowing gales but staff was on hand to help us all out with straps telling us to loosen the poles on our awnings until the wind passes. Children's play area was pleasent, small shop in reception for bits and bobs order a news paper, also a nice dog walk and dog bins there's plenty of recyling bins, a nice social room with pool table and table tennis which we had our weekly social in for a good get together, we always used the first lane a bit easier to go out places and morrissons, well done all xx

We recently attended graduation at Aberystwyth University. We were looking for nice site and booked Morfa Bychan. We drove through Aberystwyth to about 2 miles out and then took this lovely country lane to the site. People have to depart the site by 12noon as the narrow lane will be used again by new caravanners after 2pm and there are no passing places. People in cars and tents can use another route into the site. The lane went over the hill and suddenly we were met with 180 degrees of beautiful sea as far as the horizon.
We stopped at reception and got the keys for mens and women toilets/showers etc and then a nice lady took us to the main touring part which is a beautiful Cliffside field. She even put our caravan on blocks and put the legs down etc, really helpful. We had gorgeous views of the ocean and watched the sun go down for the 3 days we stayed.
There is a heated outdoor pool on site we were in it twice a day the mornings and evenings. We went earlier this month and the schools hadn't broken up so we had the pool mostly to ourselves. There is also a outdoor shower by the pool and mens and womens wc. The main toilets and showers were very clean also and practical. There was even a radio playing in the mens that's a 1st for me. We took our awning with our caravan and there was plenty of room to set it up. They did advise us before booking that it can be quite exposed and don't recommend awnings but we had no problems with the wind.
There was a shop in the reception to get milk and bits n bobs etc. There was also a games room with pool tables and tv but we didn't use them as the weather was so nice it would of been a shame to be indoors. There is also a path down to the beach. There are about 20 steps to a rocky and shailey shoreline. I collected plenty of driftwood.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and even waved us goodbye at the end of our holiday. I have been on several touring holidays over the last 24 months and by far this was the most scenic and would highly recommend. The site cost less than some others in the area and those didn't even have the heated pool

We have just spent the weekend at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park in our touring caravan which was our first time so we were new to this. We pre booked and on arrival with my wife, granddaughter, our little dog and myself we were given a very warm welcome, the staff were fantastic they set up our caravan in a lovely spot on the site overlooking cardigan bay there was a play area for our granddaughter, the beach was a short walk away, there was a lovely heated outdoor pool and the gardens and site was really nice. Dogs were made very welcome and the showers, wash area and toilets were excellent. There was washing facilities a shop to get a morning paper and the site was regularly monitored by wardens and staff making us feel safe. Throughout the weekend the staff were very friendly and helpful. An excellent site for our first adventure and we couldn't have asked for anything better we will definitely be returning in the next few weeks and for years to come taking some more family members along the way. A big thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and for all the help they gave us.

A wonderful site. The view on the (narrow) approach with the gorse in full flower was alone worth the visit, but the site proved to be one of the best. The facilities were excellent and always clean and the staff could not have been more helpful. There is a small sales outlet and a playroom/lounge.
We enjoyed a walk along the coastal path to Aber. (beware the steep finish) and took a taxi back £8. Will definitely return.

A beautiful Site with excellent facilities. Probably the best managed Site weve ever been to. The Wardens couldn't have been more helpful, loaning us folding chairs when friends came to visit and allowing us to vacate a little later than we should have.
Toilets and Washrooms were very clean and tidy and the site in general was well looked after.
Beautiful views across Cardigan Bay where we could sit and watch the Dolphins, Red Kites and Badgers. Memorable.
Thanks to the wonderful Wardens for their warmth and humour.

Start with good points
Views to die for, when you come over the hill & see the sea wow. Pitched for a few weeks on site, wardens very helpful, they level your van on arrival so you need nothing, just a bit of tweaking.
Easy access to all water points, ground very hard so does not get soggy when wet, nice pool, nice games room & well-kept grounds, shop sells the basics & you can reserve the morning paper if you wish,
Wash block spotless but I found the showers to hot, that could be just me though, I like Luke warm showers.
All pitches get sea views although slightly sloping, nice access down to the beach front only to not be a beach but boulders of rocks, great for rock pools but sandy beach would be priceless on this site, wear welly boots not flip flops or you will end up in hospital.
Bad points. Although not the camp sites doing.
Access road is nerve racking, I come in first turning after Aberystwyth with caravan & what a mission down a single track road, 3 miles of 90 degree bends & not enough passing places puts your heart in your mouth, I come face to face with someone every time I am on the road so need to reverse up the road for a passing point,
Next issue which has stopped me putting the van here seasonally, the wind, putting an awning up is a challenge, then listening to it get destroyed by wind all night keeps you awake, the wind gets fierce & blows the van so much it can feel like turbulence & I have a heavy van, wife sits there awake all night & can't sleep when it’s windy, when it’s nice it’s fantastic place to be, but mother nature is not kind to this site. Shame because I really like this site & wish it all the best for the future

Lovely camp-site. Views were stunning, helped by the fact we had lovely weather. Staff were friendly, and were often seen around. Flexible too - and were able to sell us gas when the reception was closed.
Toilets and showers clean and plentiful.
Fantastic walk along the cliff path to Aberystwyth (about 3 miles). There is a very steep decent into Aberystyth, so recommend wearing good walking footwear. We got a taxi back (cost about £10).
My one negative comment would be the children's playground area, which is slap bang in the middle. It also obstructed our sea views!
If I went again I'd ask for a pitch off to one side away from the play park as the large groups of children could be a bit loud. About 20 gathered there late one evening, but to be fair the warden did come out at 10pm and ask them to move on, which is fair enough.
It's also probably the most expensive site I've stayed at, and for these two reasons I'm giving it a 9 out of 10.

Great campsite, kids loved it and didn’t want to go home. Booked 9 nights but stayed for 8 as we had to leave early.
Pitches are a good size with plenty of room for awning and windbreakers, more on the windbreakers later! Site nice and clean, toilets and showers cleaned regularly. Clean water access very good there is a tap for every four pitches. Staff nice, friendly and helpful.
If you like table tennis take your own bats and balls as you have to buy a cheap set to play. Two pool tables the large one taking 50p piece and the smaller one taking two 20p.
The recycling unit is very well organised with bins for everything as we always try our best to recycle, especially all of our beer cans and bottles of wine!
Nice walks along the very rocky beach make sure you take walking shoes and not flip flops as my wife done! Also be careful driving into the site as it’s a two mile drive along a narrow lane and not many places to pull into if another car or caravan pass.
I found it easier when going out on visits to turn right out of the campsite as the road is better and leads you onto the main road quicker than going left which is a longer but windier road but does put you on the main road a bit closer to Aberwystwyth.
Pool is nice and warm, my kids were in and out of there about three times a day so take plenty of towels.
If you plan on coming to this site and it’s your first time you need to make sure you are ready for strong winds, I can’t say if it is as windy as it was when we were there all the time but WOW some really strong gusts of wind which almost took my full size awning off the ground.
I purchased two new style wind breakers, the ones with the metal poles which don’t actually stick in the ground and are held by ropes and pegged into the ground. They lasted all of one day, the metal pegs actually snapped in half as the wind was that strong.
After the first five days my wife wasn’t sure about the awning and as we took that much we were not in a position to take it down and we started packing to leave but thanks to one of the very friendly and helpful seasonal caravan owners for borrowing an extra storm strap and old style wind breakers we managed the rest of our stay. This was the first time we had been this close to the sea and think we learnt a lot and were a bit unsure at first.
We were on the touring side of the site which was one row away from the front cliff edge row. The sun set is stunning. We had about two days of sun which were great as the sea views are unforgettable! If you have the right weather you couldn’t find a better site.
Kids loved it down the beach with a net and bucket looking for crabs when the tide is out. I tried beach casting a few times when the tide was in about 7pm but lost a few hooks and weights due to the rocks and seaweed.
I don’t want to be negative at all about this site but feel like I needed to let any reader know about the wind as I read all the reviews before booking and didn’t really notice any major info regarding the wind. We probably chose a week which was not the best but it was the first week of August! Apparently there is a chart in the reception area showing the wind speeds and chance of storms but I didn't notice it. I did start using the MET weather centre for storm warnings on my phone.
So to finish off my essay I must say that this was one of the best holidays I have ever had and would go back again but more prepared!

This campsite is situated in a lovely location, just south of Aberystwyth on the coast. The first impression is of a well maintained site, with the gardens and grounds well kept.
The staff were friendly and helpful and we were shown around the site on arrival, including the available pitches. We were given all the useful information such as the location of the dog walking area, access to the beach, where the toilet/shower blocks were.
I hadn't been camping for about 3 years, so the cost came as a bit of a shock to me. Quite expensive I thought initially, but after staying there for a week I think it was worth it to stay at such a good site.
The tent pitches are marked out and numbered. They are on a slight slope, but that wasn't a problem. Also because of the exposed, coastal location it can get windy at times. Thankfully we had a great week weatherwise and we only had 2 windy days. Didn't come across any midges either!
The dog walking area is situated between the cliff edge and the camping field which is screened very well by an area which has been left to nature - wild flowers, grasses.
Sunsets can be fantastic in this part of the country and we weren't disappointed!
The beach has a rocky shoreline, and the cliffs are interesting geologically.
The toilet and shower block were always clean and tidy. You are given a key to access the block when you book in, which is a great idea. Lessens the risk of children running riot, playing with water and making a mess. The showers aren't coin operated thankfully, so you can shower for as long as you like without the risk of running out of water when you're all soaped up! The water temperature is controlled well too. Not too hot and not too cold.
There are washing machines and tumble driers located in a separate part of the shower block which are operated by token which you get from the reception. There is also a separate area for dishwashing. The small shop in reception is okay for essentials, but we just went in to Aberyswyth for shopping. It's only a 10 minute drive away.
There is a waste area near the reception where you can deposit your rubbish. They have recycling bins as well for bottles, plastics etc which is good.
It is a family friendly campsite, with outdoor playing facilities for children situated in the middle of the camping field, but far enough away from tents. Since the weather was fine on our stay there were children playing noisily outside until darkness, which can be a bit annoying if you want to get an early night. But we didn't see that as too much of a problem.
There is also a swimming pool, and indoor games facilities, which we didn't use.
Overall I would rate this site very highly. If I was in this area again then I would definitely return here. Highly recommended!
