I can only reiterate what others have said. This is a fantastic little site, so wellmaintained like the family owners really care about it. What a change it was from the Haven site at Tenby (extortionate price) to come to such clean showers and toilets where I could enjoy a shower in this lovely luxury block and all for £22 a night.
So nice not to have greedy owners ( I will review Haven at Tenby later after I have given them chance to respond to my complaint!).
Crickhowell is a lovely little town. Enjoyed sitting outside the old historic Bridge pub (17th Century) overlooking the river. When we got there the weather was so good on Bank Holiday Monday there were lots of people swimming in the river and sat on the grassy banks. It was an easy walk up into the village.
We did the canal walk which was very pleasant 3. 75 miles long.
We ate out each night : The Bridge (lovely fish pie) then Red Indigo (top of the hill to the Shell garage then turn left) and also The Bear (dates back to 1432) which is a fascinating building and good food. It was packed out there.
We did a walk up to the Table Mountain but turned back after an hour and quarter as it was raining so much. We saw a sign towards the top that pointed to Table Mountain but I don't think that was the right way actually.
I think we should have taken the steps to the right so make some enquiries before you set off. We visited Hay on Wye which didn't take long to get there -less than 40 minutes.
Nice town famous for its book shops and some antique shops. We couldn't see the river and asked where it was and if there was a café by it and was told no but there was a little café there.
We didn't have long there so maybe there was more to see but I was disappointed that the river seemed out of view from the town. There was a riverside walk which we only did a bit of so maybe that was nice.
We only had 2 hours there as we didn't have enough money for the car park and the machine wouldn't take card.

First time for us to stay at this site, and it will definitely won't be the last, all ready booked for two nights next month.
Excellent facilities great location, and a nice friendly welcome on arrival.
Town of Crickhowell is lovely and has some nice shops and pubs, and most are dog friendly which is a plus for us.

What a fantastic location this site is in edge of a small town with everything you need. Great walks and views, every morning when walking out of the van you can't help but stand and stare.
Lovely showers and loo's. The only small negative is only one drain for grey water at the entrance to site, I am sure we will return to this site again a real gem.

Stopped as an overnighter but wish we'd had a few days. We were located in the motorhome field which was nice and level and has impeccable toilet facilities. Site seems well run and they take pride in its neatness.
5 mins walk takes you to either the centre where there are plenty of interesting independent shops, or to the river Usk and up to the canal. Perfect dog walking area but beware she and cow fields where dogs need to be on a lead.
Great little pubs around although we only drank.
All in all a great little site and we d like to return.

A lovely site. We had a very warm welcome on arrival & shown to a flat, sunny pitch. EHU on each pitch, included in the nightly cost of £22.
The shower/toilet block was spotless throughout our stay.
Friendly fellow campers which includes some seasonaires. Beautiful walks all around, along the river, canal & mountains and wonderful independent shops, cafes & pubs in the town - a short, uphill walk away.
We will definitely be visiting again.

We've just spent four wonderful nights at this fantastic site.
We had a warm welcome from the warden's dad and chose to park on the tarmac hardstanding reserved for motorhomes, though a few others parked on the grass without issue.
The new shower block is one of the most impressive we've been in and is a credit to the owners.
There are plenty of eating places within a short distance and the town (village?) shops are really interesting, with lots of cafes too.
We did three cycle rides during our time there, choosing to head out into the hills, though most folk would probably choose to ride the Monmouth & Brecon Canal towpath, which is easily accessible.
We really can't fault this site and look forward to revisiting.

Fantastic site, excellent facilities and lovely location between the river and village with nice shops and pubs. Owner friendly and very helpful. Best site we visited on a 3 week tour of Wales, can't wait to return and stay for longer.

Pleasant site and owner. Brand new facilities and washing hanging area that would be useful for walkers. Was able to choose pitch from those not in use.
I was little disconcerted when a group of 6 bikers turned up to camp right next to us but they were not too noisy.
No view of the river, not sure what I was expecting. However very close to it and good choice of restaurants within walking disance.

Not much to add to previous reviews - this is a little gem of a site for me. The owner was friendly and informative, the pitches were really well maintained and the toilet facilities were first class, as good as the Caravan Club.
There is great walking from the site, public transport nearby and lots of pubs, shops and take-aways within a few minutes walk. The pubs are all dog friendly as well with really quite good pub grub and plenty of choice of real ale for lovers of a brew.
The only downside that I could see was the lack of hardstandings ( which the owner said would be rectified for next year ) but I parked my 4. 2 Tonner on grass and had no problems getting out, even after some mixed weather.
I think the site is adults only which could be a 1 star or 10 dependant on your point of view.
