This was our first outing in our motorhome and we enjoyed our stay very much indeed - I do have to agree though that the owner doesn't have a lot to say
The site is really close to the town with great pubs and a great atmosphere also loads of great walks and some exhausting ones but well worth the views at the top of table top mountain, the cycling was good also.
I thought the town was a great little place and the area beautiful and the site was good although the 50p showers where ok -
The pitches were a little close but we had water on ours so that was great and the site was very clean and tidy -
I would go again but forget the small talk with the owner !

We visited this site over a Bank holiday weekend (having avoided them previously) and were pleasantly surprised that although the site was full the facilities were more than adequate and all was calm and ordered. Being an adult only site helped a lot in this respect.
The site is well kept with a hook-up for almost every pitch, and each pitch has it's own dustbin. The loo / shower block is very clean. My only real gripe is that the showers are on timers at 50p a go. There is no club, bar or shop.
Situated between the River Usk and the town of Crickhowell, there is easy road access to the site and it's a short walk up to town where there is a broad range of shops for a small town. There is no supermarket. Excellent food and drink at 'The Bear', and the only place I found with wi-fi. internet access also at the Tourist Information Centre, which has the friendliest and most helpful staff anywhere.
Lots to do around Crickhowell, with hill walks you can start from the site, or stroll along the canal bank if you want something less taxing. We visited the 'Big Pit' at Blaenavon, and were very impressed with the underground trip and the displays, and because it's classed as a museum it's free.
Brecon is a lively town with a small Cathedral and at least four outdoor / mountain gear shops trying to get your trade so there are some good deals to be had if you need any kit.
Anyway, if it's a quiet break you want then this site and the area around will do you just fine.

We have visited this site now on a regular basis for the last eight years and would say that this campsite has got to be one of our favourites. We have always received a great welcome from the owner and although there are several Static Caravans on the site, my wife and I have always found them to be very friendly towards the tourers and we have got to know them very well over the years.
Please be aware that it is strictly adults only campsites but dogs are allowed if kept on leads.
The views from the site as already stated in previous reviews are second to none and a walk up Table Mountain is a must but don't forget the Asthma pump. The town has plenty of watering holes to quench the thirst, if and when required, and I must comment that on the rare occasion we have been known to visit one or two of them for the odd sherbert! There are quite a few very exclusive shops in the town and a excellent butchers all within walking distance.
We look forward to visiting this campsite on a regular basis in the future and would highly recommend this campsite for peaceful stay in a great location.

As per previous reviews could not fault this site nestled in the middle of lovely crickhowell town, showers and toilets very good, clean and spacious, 50p charge and boiling hot water, I know some people complain about the 50p charge but it is a small well kept site and must have overheads I guess to keep it as pristine as it is. The site is extremely well kept, looked after as if it were the owners own garden, own refuse bins, and no rush to chuck you out on your day of departure.
Literally just a few minutes walk into the town with plenty of shops and pubs, our favourite was the Bridge end inn, just 2mins walk away, one of those rare pubs where the landlord is dressed in a shirt and tie and greets you at the door on the way in. Food pricey but don't let that put you off, just wait till it comes to your table and you will see why, certainly not your usual pub grub, one of those rare finds where the customer still matters, orders taken at your table, drinks brought to your table, and all the staff extremely friendly and ready to help.
Dont be put off by this sites close proximity to the town, the views are stunning and at night there was not a sound to be heard, will certainly be visiting again.

Stayed at Riverside over the Bank Holiday weekend. We were put in the smaller 'tent' area which is next to a fairly busy road which can be quite noisy through the night, this would probably not be noticeable pitched in the main 'Caravan' area. The site was very clean and well presented with very good toilet and shower facilities although the shower cubicles are a little on the small side. 50p gives plenty of hot water. Probably due to it being a bank holiday and the site being very busy we had to park the car directly in front of our pitch which was not ideal.
Crickhowell is a short walk away and the choice of pubs and restaurants is quite exceptional we ate out every night and never had a poor meal the whole time. The surrounding countryside is lovely with walks from the site along the river and also out through Langattock and along the canal, or for the more energetic you can tackle table mountain. There is a nice butcher in the town with a good selection of fresh bacon which we can well recommend.
Everything considered a nice site in a lovely location.

Very clean and well run site. Good sized pitches, separate areas split by hedges making each seem like a smaller site. Free use of undercover gas barbecue. Sensible list of rules and friendly welcome from the owner. Minutes from the shops with good selection of food and drink available. Great for walking the dog in the adjacent field. Panoramic views of the mountains. The nearest pub (just outside the gate) does a good Sunday lunch and allows dogs in if kept on the lead, even better to sit in the garden and enjoy the view. Take a good TV aerial as the reception on a Status 315 was poor. We are new to this so not much to compare with yet but if all sites are as good as this 'Bring it on '.

My wife and I hired a large motorhome for the weekend, we are thinking to buy one. After hours of research on the internet, we came up with this site. Fees were £15.00 a night which included hook up. This review will be biased as we had four days of fabulous sunshine! The site has two grass fields and a small area of hard standing (three motorhomes). One field was for camping the other contained caravans, statics and motorhomes. This is an adult only site and even though it was full on Saturday night it was very peaceful, except for the odd dog barking as its a dog friendly site. Most pitches are reasonably flat and many get sun for most of the day. Toilet block and showers were very clean, plenty of hot water and showers cost 50p, mine never ran out. The cubicles were a bit small but that wasn't a major problem. There was a large wash room available with washing machines, but we didn't use them. There was a gas bbq in a shelter. Rubbish was collected daily from your own personal bin. The site is in a brilliant position, ten minutes up hill walk to the town centre which has a good range of shops, cafes and pubs. There is a pub two minues out of the sight to your right which did food and was very popular. We ate at the Vine Tree which is over the bridge and ten minutes walk - not impressed, great menu, but tired decor, service poor and food was just OK. Try somewhere else. Also five minutes right of the site entrance is a riverside park - a huge open grassed area with picnic tables, our dog absolutely loved chasing the swallows over this huge field. There are two lovely riverside walks up and downstream from the bridge, using the local OS map they can both be made circular and take between two to three hours. The views from the site of the surrounding mountains are spectacular if you decide not to leave the site, which many did. We are already looking to return with friends in our new motorhome! Every one was so friendly, it was so relaxed do try it.

Clean and tidy site, beautiful surroundings and the town of Crickhowel is lovely. As mentioned the toilet block is very clean and well maintained, and showers cost 50p. I didn't know how long the shower would last, so had a very quick shower and then stood in the lovely hot water for a few minutes and then got bored and turned the shower off - so still don't know how long it will last, but plenty long enough!
The tent area had a few picnic benches - so we grabbed one and used that instead of having our stuff on the floor, which was good. There is also coin operated washing machine / tumble dryer to use - and a undercover seating area with a gas BBQ which we were free to use.
We had a fabulous meal in a hotel / restaurant in the town called 'Dragon inn' I believe. We felt a bit self-concious in our camping clobber as everyone else was fairly well presented, but the food was fabulous and very reasonable too.
The only complaint we had was that we pitched as close to the reception area as possible in the tent field and the telephone in the office rings on an outside bell which is quite loud - and reception doesn't open until 10am, but that doesn't stop people trying to ring, and ring, and ring.
The pitch cost us £12 a night for the tent with 2 adults.

Just spent 3 nights at this well run pleasant site. We set up in the seperate tent area rather than the larger main tourer/static field, as the site was fairly quiet, so we were mixed in with tents, smaller motorhomes and other campervans. Each pitch is marked and is a decent size, and hook-up is available if required. The site is hedged on all sides with tall trees and bushes, which makes it feel well away from the hustle of the outside world, even if the road is only round the corner, and traffic noise was never an issue.
The site is handy for the local pub, with real ale and food served (1 minute walk) or go up into town for shops, cafes, restaurants etc (5 minutes walk). Everywhere on site clean and tidy, good showers and toilet block (key provided), plenty of HOT water(shower still 50p coin slot but it`s no big deal). Ideal base for exploring, Brecon, Builth Wells, Hay-on-Wye and Llangorse Lake(boat hire and also fishing available here) all within easy reach as well as other attractions, including the river right next to the site. Popular with International visitors, while we were there we met French, Belgian, German and Dutch people. Will definitely use the site again.
Adults-only site, over 18`s only, and at the discretion of the owners.

Just stayed at Riverside over the Easter weekend. This was our umpteenth time staying there over the years in a variety of outfits (my in-law's tourer, our tent and more recently our beloved FC, a Raclet Quickstop). Always impressed by this site with its well kept pitches and toilet blocks. Well done Ruth (the site owner) and thanks for making our stays so enjoyable.
