We found this to be an excellent site well laid out and well run. Facilities second to none. Porlock is a delightful village with lots of eateries and unusual shops.
Good bus service to Minehead also a vintage bus that goes to Lynmouth. The West Somerset Railway in Minehead is worth a visit. As for the comments about notices I did not think them over the top, in fact if read were very informative and helpful.

Had a wonderful weekend stay during the weir fest. Very friendly welcome, WC/shower block spotlessly clean no matter what time of day. Park very well kept.
The dog walking area is small but this didn't bother me as it was an excuse to walk to the pub in the evening. Only thing which could be addressed is the lack of space for children to play about,
There's signs saying no ball games which I understand as it's not ideal for balls to be bouncing about the pitches but during the weekend the 'rallies' field was empty and is surrounded by a tall hedge, perfect for kicking a ball or flying a kite.

Had a great week end at this site, its about 200yds from the town centre with a few pubs to choose from and good food in all.
The site itself was kept very clean toilets were spotless and showers, although the statics are all round the outside of the site it leaves a big green in the middle,
We were on a hard stand on the edge but plenty of green grass to pitch on.
There are plenty of good walks around the area and a bus service into Minehead and one to lynmouth.

A quiet, well run and very well kept site. Excellently placed for the village. Spotless toilets and showers.
Well worthy of the David Bellamy awards. Good bus service to Minehead with connections elsewhere. Village provides for all likely needs. Local walks to wood, vale or beach.
Good information/tourist office in village.

We have just had a very pleasant three day stay at this site and found it to be immaculate, attractively laid out with a sea view and very well run. I did not find that the rules were more onerous than most of the other sites I have been to and we had no problem at all with either the staff who were most friendly and helpful, or the static van occupants.
We had a great day out on the steam railway, catching the bus to Minehead from Porlock. We also enjoyed a couple of nice meals at Piggy in the Middle in the village.
Porlock itself is very pretty and quiet and it seems to cater heavily for walkers who I guess are out during the day! The village has all the shops for day to day requirements and there are a number of places to eat in the evening.
I could find no, fault at all and will certainly be back! Not at all sure why there have been some negative reviews. I would certainly recommend this site.

We spent 1 night here and found it quite antiseptic, manicured grass and full of rules, the dog walk is a fenced of area 6 foot wide along the side of the rally field then turn round and walk back the same way.
We were woken at 9am with a gardener strimming around the van!
My wife commented that they might ask us to move the van so they can sweep the gravel!
Finally we went to go shopping at 10. 30 to pick up groceries in Porlock but was told we had to be off site by 11 or pay a £5 late leavers fee (fine)
Just not our kind of site and will not be returning.

When we were here recently the site was very clean, quiet and well kept. The wash rooms were very clean and well maintained. The only fault I found, it is not very dog friendly. The dog exercise area is just a cordoned off walk way area, only about 250 yards long and about six feet wide. Although there was a large field where caravans were stored, dogs were not allowed in this area, so there was no play area to exercised your dog. If you have a dog that likes to have an area to run about, this site is definitely not for you. A shame really because this is a nice site to use.

We have been visiting this site since 2009 and standards are held very high at all times and reading previous reviews find it hard to see why some people have a problem with this.
Firstly there are no rules or signs on walls that do not keep the place a pleasant and peaceful place for all to use.
If you want to play your music at 200 decibels and let your kids run riot without supervision, play football against other peoples vans then swear at people when they complain please do not visit this site. If on the other hand you would like a relaxing stay on a site in an area of outstanding beauty with friendly people great pubs free hot showers great local shops even a medical centre this is the place for you. This site has all the best stuff you would like on a site
As mentioned showers are hot and not the push button ones WIFI is available bit expensive though two pubs with food within 5 mins walk of site plus numerous places to eat or buy food, walks in all directions or a bus service. Just a nice place to be nuff said
