A blissfully quiet site in the middle of nowhere. The site is kept very clean, grass cut and everything well maintained. The staff are friendly, welcoming and exceptionally helpful. The only downside is that the pitches are small - even the middle sized ones are quite tight and if you don't have a hedge between you and your neighbour, you do feel a bit overlooked and can hear everything next door. WiFi is a bit intermittent but then we are on holiday and should manage without!
These niggles apart, the site is lovely. Excellent dog walking (and walking in general) - in fact, I wondered if it was a condition that you had to bring a dog there were so many here (but not a problem). Usual Devon issues with roads but then if you go to Devon you must expect this. Modbury is quaint with some nice little shops, Dartmouth is lovely and there are some wonderfully quiet, hidden beaches along this stretch of coast. Definitely worth a visit and we will go again.

This was our third stay at Moor View but the first time with it under the new ownership of Dawn and Connor. We have always loved it here as it is a/ adult only, therefore delightfully quiet and b/ the facilities are always spotless. When we arrived we received a friendly greeting from Connor and our pitch was indicated to us on the map in reception. We had booked a 9m value pitch - perfectly adequate as it has EHU and water. True enough, you share the hook-up with the pitches either side but that's hardly an inconvenience. As we are old duffs, we took advantage of the old duffs's discount so our 5-night stay came out at £14. 95 pn. Excellent value, I think.
Now then, this is where I get a bit negative - point b/ if you remember was the spotlessness of the facilities. And that has changed. Ok, they are adequately clean, being comparable with many other sites with somewhat lower standards. But previously, you just couldn't find fault. Now, my impression of how the ladies showers are dealt with is that they no longer bother to sweep the floor before mopping. They just swirl the bits of dust and hair around with hot, soapy water and leave it at that. In one of the three cubicles the shower curtain had been left to develop a disgusting and rather off putting black mouldy bottom edge. The loos appear clean but again, the edges of the room are strangers to the broom. One evening, there was a bit of a stale wee smell in there - this would have been totally unheard-of in days of yore. Disappointing.
On the whole, this is still a good site for a visit -very quiet site, pleasant pitches, nicely laid out, heated facilities, fabulous view of Dartmoor - but it has slipped down the league for me, purely because of the slapdash cleaning.
One last thing - they've done away with the pool table in the games room. Why? It is now a faux cafe with tea/coffered machine. Not a bad idea as such but a real shame about the pool table.

Disappointing! we anticipated Adult Only Full Service Pitch to be just what we wanted in this lovely part of Devon, sadly many aspects let this down but certainly not Devon. The pitch we were given was next to the top of a very narrow poorly surfaced road that was so narrow given the cars parked either side care was definitely required. We have toured for a number of years and have little problem in manoeuvring our outfit into position but given the road width combined with short narrow pitch, it was very difficult. We watched a number of people particularly on our road have the same problems as us so for this reason we will not return to this site. If you choose to use this site then please be aware that the access roads are in places very narrow and many other people were very concerned about this aspect also

Very disappointed with this site as the photos are not very accurate. We had a medium pitch and it was very tight with all the cars parked at the front and the road was very narrow. If we had not had a motor mover we would still be there or would have done some damage to the van or parked cars. We have done a lot of touring and can honestly say this was the most crowded site we have stayed on. Maybe more thought should go into bigger pitches and not so many.
The dog walk was good, the toilets and showers need refurbishing and more added for the number of people.
The lanes out and in were a nightmare very narrow and busy. Yes we are in Devon but not all sites have to be as dangerous as this to get to. We have spoken to a few people staying at the same time and we all felt the same so needless to say won't be visiting again.

We stayed at Moorview for the first time this year. We paid over the course of 6 months which is easy to do via there online booking system so we had nothing to pay for our 8 day stay on arrival.
We did not look at the reviews for this site when booking (which was unusual for us) but curiosity got the better and when we did we had mixed reservations regarding it, some people really ripped in to the place and others simply just moaned about niff naff and triv regarding the following:
Closing time for wash rooms (10:30-12:00) if they didn't close to clean then people would moan that the place was stinking simple guys either get up earlier or have a lazy day
The pitches where either to hard mmmm (they are hard standing so what do you expect) and that there were gaps in the hedgerows between pitches and in some cases some deemed in adequate, (what would you like 6 foot fences with no view)
Anyway back to reality campers
This site is a warm and welcoming place in the middle of the countryside it is well laid out and very clean and tidy. The owners are really helpful and offer there knowledge of the area to guide you on your days out.
They serve fish n chips made to order on a Wednesday (frier was broken when we were there) but from what we could gather from other reviews and the local residents of the park they are amazing. There is a local pub just down the road but it wasn't to our liking as its very dated and needs a face lift inside but it may well be to others liking. There is a spar across from it that sells most things that you would need on a short stay. There is also a farmers shop a short drive away which sell a great selection of meat from the local farms and the cost is also reasonable. (superb for BBQ)
Must places to visit are Dartmoor Zoo and The national aquarium in Plymouth wow both are amazing but the first is out of this world if your into that kind of stuff.
What else can I say the site is great and we will visit again watch this space.
The only gripe I have is getting to the place from the A38 always take route 1, yes it is narrow in places but we are all professional drivers otherwise we wouldn't have a licence to tow.

Great site this our first time on an adults only site also first time on a fully serviced pitch. The pitch was very good, hard standing, level and we had a pitch on the outside lane with a view over fields, most pitches are inside the site but still have a view over the countryside. A great dog walk over 3 fields, and everything very clean. Strange way of cleaning toilets and showers, they shut all of them from 10. 30 am until 12. 00pm. We did miss the shower times a couple of times (well we were on holiday) so had to use the one in the motorhome (very small) But on the whole a great site, will go back.

We were quite disappointed with this site as the website photos did not accurately represent the site. We chose this site because we wanted to go 'adults only' and the pitch photos looked lovely on the website.
The pitches were small and the avenues between rows quite narrow so it felt very much like a car park. Cars had to be parked in front of the pitch. You could literally hear conversations in the next pitch to you. Many of the 'privacy' hedges between pitches were non-existent or in poor condition. The views of Dartmoor could only be seen from a few pitches.
We were disappointed with the shower section of the toilet block. The showers could do with refurbishment. They needed grouting and the shower curtains were dirty (they were washed part way through our stay). Also the pipes were exposed and it was easy to accidentally touch them during a shower and they were very hot.
We did partake of the fish and chips and the experience was akin to eating scratchings they were so overcooked (I was there to collect at the correct time - I think they had been started too early).
I understand that the owners are new and the site was acquired late last year but I would have thought that some improvements could have been carried out after six months.
Pros - great location and the owners were friendly. There is a large information room available with tea/coffee, TV and table tennis table. Nice to have serviced pitches. As it was adult only it was quiet.
The camping field was lovely - spacious and great views but no electric hookups were available, otherwise we would have moved there.
We shared a delicious cream tea at The California Cross, really good scones and generous portions of jam and cream. However we thought the menus were expensive and a pint of beer was £4. We had two very good evening visits to The Exeter Inn in Modbury where the food was good and the prices more reasonable. (The pub with all the hanging baskets outside).

Just spent a week at this site and was very impressed with the facilities and the pitches. Each pitch is hard standing and fully serviced at what we thought a reasonable rate.
The owners were very helpful, the dog walk was a joy around the wild meadow which had a pathway mown.
There is much to see and do around this area and would recommend to anyone

A lovely site in a beautiful area. Ideal for visiting several National Trust properties in the area and other lovely places like Salcombe and Dartmouth. Also for walking in the Dartmoor National Park.
The park is nicely kept, grass mown daily and good facilities for washing up, laundry room and emptying/cleaning the toilet cassette. You must use Elsan organic fluid as they have invested in a new waste treatment tank and the ordinary fluid will kill the friendly bacteria needed to make it work. You can buy this on site if necessary.
A nice dog walking area is provided along with recycling facilities. There is an information room containing local info and with large flat screen tv, table tennis table/bats/balls, books you can buy/borrow and tea and coffee making facilities with honesty pot. A lovely idea.
Fully serviced hardstanding pitches mean you don't have to bother with re-filling the aquaroll and emptying the waste master. My favourite kind of pitch! Attractively landscaped and laid out pitches although a little more room between them would be advantageous - some people without motor movers had to ask the people opposite to move cars so they could get their 'vans back out on departure day. The toilets and showers are shut for cleaning for 2 hours (!) between 10. 30 and 12. 30 daily which I found really inconvenient. We only use our toilet for 'minor' trips and to be hanging on at the wrong time or having to time your 'visit' to the facilities was annoying to say the least. You can manage without the showers but really at least one toilet should be available whilst others are being cleaned. Also, the toilets are not private - the walls do not reach the ceiling and you could literally hear a pin drop!
The toilet/shower facilities are in need of an update but I wouldn't let this put me off returning as all in all it was a lovely site. Also, very reasonably priced so I think you can put up with a couple of gripes.
Major plus also is the amazing California Country Cross Inn. Awesome pub, beautiful little garden areas for eating/drinking al fresco. Well-kept beer, fantastic food and only 10 mins walk from the site. We went there several times. We ate in the bar one night and in the restaurant another. Both fantastic and the chicken with 3 cheese sauce is to die for! Some people have said they found it expensive but we didn't. We are from the New Forest and pay these prices at home - for a good meal in a delightful pub you don't need to look any further.
One last thing - take ROUTE 1! Much quicker and less narrow bits than route 2 whatever the time or day in our opinion.

We stayed here for 2 nights in half term, the new owners are very friendly and helpful and the site is quiet and well run. All pitches are hard standing and have electric and water.
The toilets and showers are kept clean and warm but maybe a few more would be needed at busy times especially if there were a lot of tents.
The pub along the road(about 15 minutes walk)is quite good if a bit expensive, it is dog friendly though. If going make sure you take a torch at night road can be dodgy. The shop and garage is opposite the pub and sells most stuff you may need.
Make sure you have ORGANIC toilet fluid they are very fussy, I brought mine home to empty.
