We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks 24/06/2011-08/07/2011. The site was immaculately clean with excellent facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for Edward or Liz to make our stay a very pleasant one. Liz cooks fish (or scampi) and chips on a Thursday evening and they were the best I have had for a long time.
All the pitches were hardstanding. We prefer grass but decided to give it a go. Its not for us as we are used to walking around barefooted and this was painful if we forgot!
I would highly recommend this site to anyone who wants a quiet peaceful holiday with spectacular views & loads of places to visit. Well done Edward and Liz.

Firstly approach to the site involves narrow roads with passing places.
Pitches vary in size but all are very close together. If you have a caravan and awning on the pitch your car is parked across the front, making it difficult for the unit opposite to reverse on to a pitch or hitch up before driving away. In our case with a 6metre long van conversion type we had to do a double shuffle if the occupants of the pitch opposite had their car parked in this way before we could go out for the day!
Toilet block & showers clean, but closed for two hours from 10. 30am for cleaning.
Nearest shop is Spar 800metres away, award winning pub opposite this shop & garage. We found the pub to be expensive though on both food and drinks. Don't walk there in the dark.
All in all we were disappointed with the site and wouldn't go there again

Just spent 7 nights at Moor view and can highly recommend this adults only site.
Great welcome from Edward who showed us to our pitch and indicated where all the facilities were. We arrived on the Thursday which is fish and chip night cooked by Liz and after a long journey were very welcome.
The facilities ie. showers and toilets were very clean and well looked after. The information room is a mine of useful leaflets places to eat and also holds a pool and table tennis table there is also a television and internet access.
The surrounding area is great for walking etc but if you are cycling you need to take care on the narrow lanes. Plymouth is well worth a day out we parked our car in Modbury and used our bus passes for the remainder of the journey.
Kingsbridge has a Tesco and Morrisons supermarket and is about 6 miles away and is worth a visit in its own right. If you want to walk I suggest the coast path near Bigbury on Sea approx 6 miles is well worth the effort.
Two minor points on the downside are (1) The approach lanes can be quite narrow in parts so care is needed (2) The 9m pitches are quite close together and we felt a little close to our neighbours but fortunately they were as quiet as we were so not much of a problem but our pitch was really full with caravan Awning, sat dish and car.
Would we visit the site again the answer is a definite yes if we were in that area but next time would pay the extra for a 11 metre pitch even though we only have a small unit.

We spent a lovely sun-filled week here, and found this site to be a great place to stay if you want to see South Devon.
The site is split Touring caravans on one side, and static caravans on a totally separate half.
We were greeted by the owner who was very helpful, even helped direct me onto the pitch in quick time. He explained what was available on site, and also provided plenty of brochures of the area, including the steam train and boat trips available from Dartmouth.
The pitch was excellent (although with the awning up the car only fitted across the front of the pitch). Full facility pitch meant that the toilet block was not required, but I used the showers, and found the block very clean, and on par with Club Facilities.
Pitch fees were good for a full service 11m pitch, and the 7 nights for 5 offer was even better value.
Access to the site was good, as long as you took care on the few narrow parts of the road via California cross.
There was a pub/restaurant 2 mins bike ride away, but we never used this. The small garage/Spar shop was excellent for a little shop, but the main shopping was done at Sainsburys (Totnes?).
Overall an excellent site to stop at.
Can recommend visit to Bigbury-on-Sea (super beach). Overbeck's National Trust Property is also worth a visit. Lovely gardens and views over Salcombe.
Note: this is a Tranquil Group Site ie Adults Only. So don't try booking here if you have little people :)

We have just had a 9 night stay in our tent at this very nice adults only site. We were on a double hardstanding fully serviced pitch which by using a couple of undersheets under our zipped in groundsheet was no problem.
Because it was Modbury fair week the site had a special offer at £9 per night for the fully serviced pitch (16 amp EHU, water and grey waste on the pitch) which was incredible value. Indeed that is the cheapest we have paid for any site in this country.
The showers were as other people have said were kept immaculately clean (only problem was that they could close the block for cleaning from 10.30 to 12.30 which could create some problems).
The site is very well kept and the owners Edward and Liz were very helpful.
The California Country Inn was about 800 yards away but you had to walk along the road so it was necessary to be careful. Food was very good if a little on the expensive side.
Because it is somewhat remote you do need to travel to go anywhere.
The garage opposite the Inn was also a Spar grocers and well stocked.
We ate twice at the Church House Inn at Rattery and highly recommend this Inn. It is the oldest Inn in Devon and the food was very good.

We have just returned from a four night stay at Moor View. I'll start with the good:
- Very friendly and helpful owner
- Adults only - as a couple with grown-up children a real plus
- Good facilities - spotless, warm (free) showers - very spacious
- Quiet
- Friendly campers/caravanners - many regulars
The not so good:
- Rather cramped - tight access to rather small pitch
- Car had to be placed in front of caravan and awning - not the best view
- A bit too enclosed
Would we recommend to others - probably yes. Would we return - probably no as we prefer a more open outlook and more space.

Our visit to this site was generated by the encouraging reviews from other users, and we weren't disappointed. It is set in a beautiful area of South Devon with views across to Dartmoor. It is very conveniently placed about 4 miles off the A38, and whilst some reviews have noted 'narrow roads', we did not find this to be a problem and there are plenty of passing places.
Being Adults Only it was very peaceful and relaxed, and we enjoyed the luxury of a fully serviced pitch. Having taken note of potentially small pitches from previous reviewers we selected and paid for a larger pitch for ourselves, and even then the overall cost was very reasonable and worth the money. I am not really sure that the pitches are that small but it does of course depend on the size of the van/awning/car etc. Like a previous reviewer we found that the internet connection does not work or is painfully slow and we survived without it. The owners are hard working, pleasant and unobtrusive, and yes we can recommend the fish and chips but make sure you have your own vinegar and condiments available!
Facilities are good and clean but a little tired. We were impressed with the fact that from a 'ladies' perspective the showers are in a separate area to the toilets - this should catch on! Plenty of hot water - we never had a problem with queues, but as always it depends on the time of day and we always make a point of showering in the evening on holiday to avoid the morning rush. Our only criticism for the site is that the dish washing area is in serious need of re-tiling as the current tiles are broken, creating an unhygienic appearance.
There is plenty to do in the area, and you do need a vehicle to enjoy it to the full. Modbury is a small town with plenty of places to eat and a helpful tourist information office. Suggested areas to visit are Bigbury - walk across to Burgh Island (if the tide is out of course!) and walk around the island for views back across to the mainland. Salcombe is a pretty little town mainly full of pubs and eateries and views across the estuary. Bolberry down is a must if you enjoy walking - National Trust car park and head off in one direction to Hope Cove and the other to Soar Mill cove.
Our highlight was a visit to Greenway - Agatha Christie's home when she was alive - beautiful gardens and house. Drive to Dittisham walk to the harbour and take a small ferry (3 minutes) across to the property. Plymouth is within a short driving distance if you like cities, but the roadworks and heavy traffic everywhere make for a frustrating waste of time. Kingsbridge is nearby and very pretty, and also Dartmouth makes a good day out. There is so much to see in this beautiful part of the country that it probably needs a few visits to capture it all.

This was our first stay at this delightful site and on arrival we were welcomed and shown to our pitch by the owner. The site is very well kept and maintained with the shower / toilet blocks kept in pristine condition.
The views out to the moors from the tiered site are fabulous and the piece and quiet being an adults only site is the main reason we chose to stay at this particular one. Having a fully serviced pitch was a plus point and the room on the hard standing, value plus pitch in our case was adequate for the caravan and awning, allowing plenty of room for the car at the front.
The only downside, that in no way spoiled our break was the queuing for the toilets and showers, being peak season the site was full and at these such times more toilets and showers would be nice, but don’t let this put you off.
We paid for wi/fi internet access for the duration of our stay but only achieved a connection on the first night. My advice would be to check if you have a network signal in your caravan before you fork out the extra as the signal seemed very weak when we were there.
Worth a visit if you are looking to stay in this area.

Just returned from an August bank holiday weekend at this site. The welcome from Ed on arrival was very pleasant if not a bit regimented, the campsite itself is very well presented, spotless toilet block and wash facilities, didn't have to wait for the shower but I did use it early on the Saturday, on the Monday morning there was a bit of a queue, showers are very nice with plenty of hot water.
Plenty of do's and don't notices dotted around the toilets.
Access to the pitches is a bit tight, if you have a pitch on the right side of the access lane I would approach from the top and if on the left approach from the bottom, this will allow easy reversing onto your pitch, this will also prevent embarrassingly having to use the pitch opposite to reverse onto your pitch. Pitches are also quite small so go for a big one if you can. The fully serviced pitches are great and a god send.
Dog walk is good, not the best, but adequate, the woodland walk is very nice.
To get to the site you need to be careful and perhaps brave to address the narrow lanes from the south bound A38.
The site is a bit out of the way and would more suit caravanners, campers and motorhomers with additional transport to get out and about, apart from the local pub [expensive meals & beer at £3.20/pint] and the local garage/spar both are about 800m away, there really is not much around, the lanes have no footpaths so you do need to be careful when walking. There didn't seem to be very many walks from the site.
Bigbury on Sea is fantastic, but once again the lanes are narrow.
Enjoyed the weekend very much but will probably not return, we do like to walk from the campsite once pitched.

Our first time at this site although we have stayed at other Tranquil Park sites and this one is as good as the rest.
Excellent facilities, nice quiet site, even when full. Centrally heated toilet block.
Close the the Devon/Cornwall border, ideally sited for Dartmoor and East Cornwell/ West Devon.
Although site is on the side of a hill the pitches are all level and if you are unsure of reversing on a slope the owner or manager will reverse your outfit for you.
As the name implies there is a good view over Dartmoor from most pitches (unless it is raining!).
We spent an enjoyable 10 days there and would go back if in the area again.
