We have visited Moor View several times and found it to be a friendly, well run site with spotless, centrally heated showers and lots of information about the local area. The pitches are hardstanding with water and waste available to connect to on most if not all pitches. The prices are cheap although the pitches are compact and the dog walk is small.
Most of the South Hams area is within driving distance and Wonwell beach is only 4 miles away. Unfortunately, parking can be difficult in busy periods as it is at the end of a lane with no car park.
There is a pub about half a mile away where dogs are allowed in a small room. It has a large and pretty patio area outside and the food is good and reasonably priced. There is also a convenience store and farm produce stall opposite.
This is a great, quiet little site - no children allowed - with pitches priced by size and the owners give a loyalty discount after your first visit.

My husband, myself and our 10mth old bull mastiff puppy stayed at Moor view for the 1st time back in August we found the adult only site to be very pleasant we only had a normal pitch to stay on for the 2 weeks as we had booked quite late and the larger pitches were all taken but our pitch was able to accomodate our Bailey Senator van plus full awning.
The toilet / shower facilities were kept spotless as was the rest of the park. They had 2 dog walking areas on site but the top wooded area was not very accessible due to the heavy rains that fell for nearly the whole 2 weeks stay but the area around the camping field was more than adequate but I'm ashamed to write that still some dog owners did not clean up behind their pets even though there was a doggy poo bin at the entrance to the walk!
The owners of the site were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking to go out to eat the local pub 'The Claifornian Cross' did fantastic bar meals which we would definetly recommend.
The only down side to this enjoyable holiday was the 2 mile very narrow lane leading to the site it is very very tight in places even without your caravan on the back but it would not put us off going back.

Lovely site. Very friendly people. Don't dislike children but a change to be just adults only. Easy to get to other places but roads a little narrow with the caravan on. Lots of walks in the area.

Pitches on a slope but no really a problem. They sell pegs on site to go into the hard standing which are good.

Lovely pub down the road that great food.

Nice site, very easy to find if you follow the supplied directions. When we arrived on site we were asked if our van was fitted with a motor mover as being newbies we had unfortunately booked a 'Value' pitch which would have been impossible to reverse into. The pitch was just about wide enough for the van plus our porch awning,it was difficult to park our car across the front of the pitch and stay clear of the road. We thought that the 'value' pitches were very close together with no privacy. That said the owners were very helpful, the facilities were clean and the area was good for touring. If we visit the site again we will book a Standard pitch.

We arrived and was met by the friendly owners liz and edward whom directed to our pitch, it was plenty ample for us with our own water supply and grey water drainage which made our holiday even better.

The shower toilets and laundry room was all kept very clean and functiond in every department the site was clean and well tended for

It is not a far drive for anywhere this park and we enjoyed the lanes. One thing in this area: do not trust your sat nav, other than that we had a lovery holiday and want to thank liz and edward. The best bonus of all we did not have any kids on the site as for anything else it has all been said above

This site is located about 2 miles from the small town of Modbury and about 15 mins drive from the coast. We found it to be centrally located for accessing the coast, Dartmoor and Plymouth but another caravaner commented that he found it was a bit 'out of the way'. The local lanes are narrow with high hedges so are not really suitable for walking or cycling. There is a pub and garage with Spar shop about half a mile away.

Site owner (Edward) was extremely helpful even to the point of offering to reverse our caravan onto the pitch. We had a pitch at the top of the site, which had good views of the moors. The pitches have enough hard-standing for a caravan, awning and vehicle but could have done with some privacy hedging between them.

Only standard pitches left for our twin axle but Edward permitted us to park on a seasonal pitch that wasn't being used. 'Plumbed in' fresh and waste water meant that we did not have to use the site facilities but we did have a quick look and they were very clean.

Ordered a morning paper but bread deliveries have ceased due to fuel costs. Wi-fi does not yet cover all pitches but Edward informed us that this problem was being addressed with a more powerful wireless network.

Overall, this is one of the better sites that we have stayed at. Central location, well maintained, friendly owner, quiet (no kids) and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

On booking we were told we would be allocated a pitch near the woods as we had two dogs,I specified that it was a holiday for our dogs too, we arrived and were put well away from the dog walks (which both run next to busy roads!) When you have to pay a daily fee to take your dog you would expect it to be dog friendly but we found this was not the case.We were so far away that we could not access WiFi although we paid for the service, games room closed.

Caravans are close together, we had to clamber into a bush to get to our waste & water containers as we were assisted to park 6 inches away from the bush, from our pitch there was no view of the Moor, just other awnings and caravans!

The California Country Inn - we arrived at 9pm on bank Holiday Monday to be told it was closed, and it was his pub and he could do what he liked.....needless to say we took our trade down the road

Excellent site! Lovely, spotlessly clean, heated and spacious toilet and shower block with all the hot water you could wish for and plenty of room to wash and dress in comfort – definitely one of the best I’ve seen. All the pitches seem to have their own hook up, water and grey waste disposal. Only slight downside is the very limited space on the pitch to sit outside and have privacy, despite us being upgraded from a standard to a superior pitch (and thank you for that Ed, the gesture was very much appreciated!).

The reception/small on site shop stocks all the basics such as milk and bread (book the day before for a freshly baked loaf!) and newspapers provided they are booked ahead. The owners are very friendly and helpful, couldn’t do enough to make our stay a happy one.

The local pub is a 10minute walk away and serves perfectly acceptable food – but do take a torch if walking there in the dark, there are no footpaths and the road is quite narrow and twisting in parts so you need to ensure you can be seen by passing traffic. There is a Spar and petrol station opposite the pub for all the basics you can’t get on site. We did the walk a couple of times with no trouble at all, just be aware. The village of Modbury is a good 45 minute walk away, again down sometimes narrow country roads with no footpaths. We did the walk there but returned by taxi (£5 and 5 minutes!) – the number is in the back of the little information leaflet on Modbury or the helpful guy in the Tourist Information centre will ring it for you.

All in all we had a great stay on a great, clean and friendly site and would have no hesitation recommending it.

We have visited Moor View several times now, and we will continue to do so. This site is purely for ADULTS! Not even visitors can bring kids. GREAT! The site has a small shop catering for the basics, but they are willing to get things in for you. They have Wi-Fi and a computer in the rest room that you can use. The site is fully serviced and drained, and the pitches vary in size and price. I have never seen a puddle or muddy pitch!

The toilets & showers are very clean and presentable. Disabled facilities are limited slightly, but are generally good. Huge discounts available to return visitors, plus extra for over 50's! If you want a really quiet place to stay, this is for you. Even though I had annoyingly obnoxious & rude neighbours, (on my last trip), Edward soon explained the camp rules to them, and apologies were accepted. There is no clubhouse, quiet site remember. Ivybridge is 4 miles away, and has a huge selection of shops all in one short street, and a great Chinese.(the bottom one) (buy your chips further up the road, same side)!

We are regular visitors to Moor View as it is very convenient to where we live. It is an adult only site and is completely peaceful and tranquil.

The site is immaculately kept and the heated loo facilities are kept spotlessly clean, with lots of hot water. We agree with a previous comment that the showers are some of the best that we have encountered anywhere.

The site is set on a slope with all the pitches tiered and hard standing with electric, water and grey waste disposal. The views over the moors are breathtaking.

Moor View is owned by Edward and Liz and they always have a smile for you and nothing seems to be too much trouble if you require assistance.

We will definitely be returning next next year.
