I think we might be the only people in the world that didn’t rate this site. We were disappointed with our pitch, being wedged in between two hedges on the sides and one on the back. As a result we were very disappointed in having no ‘Moor View’ as we were expecting. The pitch was so tight it took us around half an hour to get the caravan into position. However, facilities couldn’t be faulted and were clean and modern. Owners were also friendly. Site was next to main road where traffic noise could be heard. If we were sited at the top where you do get a good ‘Moor View’ then maybe the issues we encountered wouldn’t have materialised, but we just didn’t appreciate looking at hedging along 3 sides and the feeling of being jammed into a gap.

Just arrived home' from this site' a very quiet site, well maintained.Shower block very clean. I felt we where imposing on the next caravan, as the pitches were to close to each other. The locals you meet in the lane,s drive much to fast.So be on your guard. We would not go back to this site again.

I agree, this is a lovely site and very clean. My husband reckons the showers are the best he's ever had. Oh, and there's now a long dog run round the tent field so something for everyone. Modbury's just down the road and with some really nice shops, including a butcher and an excellent bakery. There are pubs and restaurants as well but we didn't try them. The food in the pub at California Cross is very good.

Received a warm welcome on arrival. Lovely site, really clean facilities, so peaceful but then it is adult only. We went for some peace and quiet and we certainly got it. From our pitch we had a fantastic view of Dartmoor. Approach road is a bit hairy as its partly single track with passing places on and off for a few miles but we managed fine, all the roads around this area are like this so its good practice! Would I go back YES would I recommend it YES and I am fussy!

A very pleasant site to stay on. On booking in, ED the owner took us to our pitch and made sure we were happy with it. Toilets and showers were spotless. At reception basic foods could be purchased (milk, bread etc.) Each pitch had all facilities: water, waste and electricity, never had this before so it was luxury! The site is sloping but pitches are all terraced, so that views over the countryside can be obtained. Fish and chips cooked by ED's wife could be ordered on a Thursday evening!

As new campers learning the ropes we couldn't have chanced onto a better camp-site. It was well run with clean hot showers and well maintained toilets. There is an ethos with more than a glance towards environmental concerns all brought about by the work of the very friendly owners who we found approachable and helpful. Especially good if, like us, you don't want too many children about the place.
Inexpensive, great location, well run, good facilities ..... we'll be going back without a doubt.

Shame to see that this is now an adult site from 2005 as we had a great camping break over the bank holiday weekend. Strangely, all the tents were families! A warm and very personal welcome with spotless facilities and a take-away (if you pre-booked a time!). A great location, being just a few minutes from the main A38 and just a few minutes drive to one of our favourite beaches at Bigbury On Sea.

A really nice site. Individual pitches, spotless heated toilet block with free showers, small shop with newspaper ordering, tv room with pool table, a lovely view of Dartmoor. As c&cc members we had 7 nights with awning, electric & hard standing for less than £40 (and we got a perfect picture on our tv!) This site is a real credit to its friendly owners Ed & Liz Corwood, themselves caravaners. We will definitely be returning
