What a fabulous, quiet, tidy campsite! Edward and Liz were very helpful when our arrival was delayed and kindly clipped the paperwork relating to our stay and guides as to where to eat and things to do in the area on a hook by the reception door, after hours.
We were free to choose our own pitch in the camping field, which has a convenient L-shaped fenced off strip along two sides of for dogs to use. One of our dogs cannot cope with other dogs around him (due to being attacked as a tiny pup) and during our stay, we met a few others with the same anti-social trait. This dog area was perfect for them as it allowed each of us time alone in the space with our respective dogs, keeping them calm and happy, free from angst. There is another small but pretty dog walk at the top end of the site too.
The field itself has lovely views across the moors and is sheltered around its sides by trees and hedges. The ground does gently undulate in places, but there were plenty of flat places to comfortably pitch and we easily got all our pegs in without hitting too many stones.
The showers, loos and washing up facilities were always pristine and the water hot except one day when a chap wash washing his dishes and chatting leaving the hot tap running for ages, bless him! We were also pleased the facilities were equidistant from the camping field as from the caravan park as so often we tenters seem to be out on a limb!
Locally there were plenty of great places to eat, our favourite being the White Hart Hotel in Modbury, 3 miles away. It's not one of the eateries listed on the site info sheet, presumeably due to space on the pages, but the food was excellent, staff very friendly and our beloved dogs received a royal welcome there. We ate there three times during our week at Moor View.
There are lots of pretty places to explore in the area. We especially enjoyed boats trips around Dartmouth and Plymouth, some arty-crafty things to see in Bovey Tracey and the nearby Devonia Sheepskin place. Some of the roads require great care as they can be narrow and twisty, but hey, it's Devon and you're on holiday to experience something different from how it is at home, right?
Our leaving day dawned rainy but the sun and breeze soon arrived to dry out the tent. Edward told us not to rush to leave by the official 11am departure time but to ensure our tent was dry, saying as long as we were gone before the 1pm arrival of the new campers we were welcome to take our time, which we really appreciated.
We'll definitely stay at Moor View again next year when my partner resumes his walk around the Coast Path and will need to be back in the same vicinity.

We chose this site as our first ever trip in our 'van' and think we have been spoilt.
We chose it for its location and the fact it is adult only.
We opted for a fully serviced pitch at the back of the site with views over the front.
I agree with other reviewers that the pitches are quite small in comparison to others I have seen although that is the only downside we could find.
Edward and Liz the owners could not have been more helpful and the location is excellent. Narrow lanes on the approach but its Devon!
We found the facilities to be spotless although cannot review them properly as did not use them.
We visited Noss Mayo and can highly recommend the Ship Inn. We also visited nearby Burgh Island, Torquay and Dartmouth.
We are sure to return as we love the area and appreciated the calm atmosphere of this site.

Easy to find site with helpful wardens. Pitches small and packed in down the middle section, the grass areas and hard standings need smartening up and a tarmac road around the site.
Toilet block and showers are clean and tidy but be prepared to wait to use them during busy times. If you are used to CC sites and facilities you will might be disappointed but great that it is adults only. Great location for visiting the surrounding area.

Arrived here at Moor view after Easter. Have been before so knew what to expect. Chose this site as it is adults only, part of the tranquil touring group of sites. Good pitch with pleasant views, shower/toilet block as goog as ever, clean and tidy. Local facilities are good with local shop at the filling station 1/4 mile away and further shops in local town, Modbury. Access road still the same, single track with passing places but if careful and patient then should have no problems.
Site owner very good and always helpful, papers collected for all who order free of charge for delivery. Owners wife does fish night on site every thursday which is always good value and tasty.
Not far to travel to the coastal area with Salcombe and dartmouth within 15 miles. Exceelent pubs with good food abound in the local area. We will be back again at xmas this year for the xmas/new year period and hoping to stay on in January if weather permits.

We have visited Moor View Touring Park several times, and have always enjoyed our stay. The site is run and owned by a lovely couple Edward and Liz. They are very friendly and helpful - Edward will even back your outfit onto the pitch if you prefer. The site is quiet (adult only - and no clubhouse) and clean with plenty of spotless toilets and showers with plentiful hot water. There are a couple of washing up sinks. All pitches are hard standing and serviced with electricity, water and gray waste disposal. There are dog walks on the site. The approach to the site is by 3 or 4 miles of Devon lanes. These are narrow in places and there are passing spaces. They are not a problem - I tow a large twin axle 'van - just take care and do not speed.
Thursday night is fish and chip night on the site. Liz cooks fish and chips to order in your preferred time slot, and they are to die for! As good you as you will get anywhere. If you prefer a pub lunch or evening meal, the California Inn is less than a mile down the road, and has just been voted the 'Best Eating Pub in Devon'. We have eaten there often and can highly recommend it. If you want something a little more up market, then try their restaurant; it is a little dearer but the food is cordon bleu and well worth the extra expense. Opposite the pub is a garage which has a Spar mini-market, where you can get most items, and especially those that you forget to get from the supermarket. Next to the garage is a fruit and vegetable stall for locally grown produce, which is very good and also sell local eggs. There are supermarkets of various sizes in most of the local towns, with a large Morrisons and a larger 24 hours Tesco within a 20 minute drive.
The site is situated within easy reach of Dartmoor, the coast and coastal walks and picturesque towns such as Tavistock, Modbury, Kingsbridge and of course, the city of Plymouth. For the seaside towns and harbours, there is the choice of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth. If you feel like a day out, Cornwall is just a short drive away.

This was our second visit to this site. We found it to be once again very quiet - I mean no noisy groups and no-one waking you up early in the morning. We were unlucky with the weather and the camping field doesn't seem to have brilliant drainage as it was rather flooded. The owners recognised this and to preserve the field sensibly advised us all not to keep taking cars in and out, but to leave them parked in the car park.
Hot free showers, clean and plentiful toilets, adequate washing up facilities, a useful lounge area to sit if the tent became too claustrophobic, were all positives about this site. Not to mention the Langage Farm ice-creams sold at reception! We will be back again.

We've had a very good if rather wet trip to Moor View. The owner was most helpful - leaving personalised printed instructions for us since we arrived late after hold ups.
The camping field was suffering a bit from the rain draining off the hill sides, but this was very well managed.
The facilities were excellent; clean, well-decorated and everything maintained to a high standard.

Toilets etc.Kept spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water.
Pub and garage within walking distance, fab meals in pub, garage sells very much all you need in way of general food, home produce stall outside garage sells all fresh fruit veg, big!eggs.
Only downside, care is needed on reaching site through the lanes, but well worth staying at.

Bad points, the pitches were to close together, even though we booked a medium size one.
The shop down the road was expensive,my advice just get essentials or bring enough supply's to last until you visit a supermarket.
Good points,The area has beautiful country side,Kingsbridge is well worth a visit our highlight of the 2 weeks that we were there was the butterfly and seal sanctuary at Buckfastleigh along with the abbey (recommended)
Edward and Liz were very helpful, could not do enough for you,her fish and chips on Thursdays were very nice, they worked very hard to keep the site and toilets clean.

We arrived at Moorview Campsite. The site owner was very helpful. We did not have a motor mover on our Caravan so Edward (the owner) asked me if I wanted him to park our Caravan for us. This was very helpful as I was not too confident to reverse our caravan onto the pitch they provided for us. This site is very clean and quite. The facilities are excellent (both clean and tidy).
We are that pleased with this site, we have booked for another 3 weeks (July / August). The local shop is stocked with everything from a tooth brush to a throw away barbecue so if you forget anything you will be able to find it in the shop.
