This is a lovely clean site which is very near to Filey. The toilet blocks and grounds in general, are immaculate. There are 2 pubs nearby serving food, both of which allow dogs inside. For us this is important, as we do not go on holiday to be stood at the cooker every night. There is a central play area for ball games. No negatives about our visit to the site, other than it could do with a second dog walking area at the opposite end of the site to reception. We would most definitely book this site again. We paid £19 per night for tourer, electric hook up, awning and dog - very reasonable compared to some sites!

Just had 5 nights here in last week September £100. Low season. This is another one of those touring sites that is not really a touring site. As there are at least twice as many more, all season vans here. This site is mainly geared up for seasonal caravans, and certainly favours them as they have a lot more space per pitch ( prob a good twice as much space ) water supply, drainage, and electric supply. There are a few hard standing pitches and grass pitches for the few tourers ( like us ), that are on top of one another! If you want to join the all seasonals, then this site is very good, very clean, 3 shower/toilet blocks for 2 fields. Water supplies are not very near Lots of rules to obey. You must obey. Lots of rules for dogs too. If you enjoy being with lines of empty vans, with perfect this and perfect that, then you will love it here. Not for us though, we wont be returning !
Management response: Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We have different areas accommodating seasonal tourers and regular tourers and from viewing the aerial photograph of the park on our website you can see our pitches are quite obviously not positioned in ‘lines’. Also the low season pitch fee for car, caravan, two adults and electric hook up is £15. 50 per night on either grass or hard standing (£77. 50 for five nights), however you decided to use a full awning and also had two dogs which brought the pitch fee to £20 per night.

Our pitches are most definitely not ‘on top of one another’. On the pitch you chose, the pitch markers are nearly 8m apart and cars can easily be parked at the front of the unit as this plot is over 18m long so space is hardly an issue. Indeed have a look at our website gallery and photo 31 (Union Jack on the left hand side with a family rounders match being played) shows the pitch during the busy summer period with a caravan, full awning and silver car on it. Photos 5, 30, 35, 39 and 41 are of this part of the park too. Our standard seasonal pitches are of a similar area so we are unsure which measuring device was being used to calculate them as having ‘prob a good twice as much space’!?!

Quite separately off the main park we do have a new seasonal development which opened in March 2015 accommodating just 25 units over three acres. This does indeed have very large pitches which are 7m wide, 13m long and with at least 5m between them. We also have some of these premium superpitches available for regular tourers to book and are developing more this winter.

The main park has 58 seasonal pitches and the ‘few hard standing and grass pitches’ mentioned amount to 54 plots, so a similar number of each, not ‘at least twice as many more’. Of course if you decide to come for Monday to Friday at the end of September, the entire park (including seasonal pitches) will be quieter, as many of our guests work and love coming to our park as often as they can, which at this time of year is generally weekends.

Our common sense rules can be viewed on our website. Rules for dog owners are clear and concise and are there to avoid any doubt or confusion as to the responsibilities of pet ownership on our park. This ensures pet owners and non-pet owners alike can enjoy their time with us.

We are sorry our park did not prove suitable for you but are very fortunate to have a great many fabulous customers who appreciate our beautiful park and facilities ‘with perfect this and perfect that’. This can be seen in the fantastic reviews both here and on our own website.

After staying at more than 70 sites in the past seven years we would say that without doubt Lebberston Touring Park is in the top 5 and probably No. 1. The site is superb. Nicely set out spacious pitches, spotless showers, toilets and the grass around the site is cut beautifully. The owners and wardens are very friendly and always make time to have a chat.

As bus-pass holders we used the 121 bus regularly to get to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. Also from Scarborough it was easy to get to Whitby and Robins Hood Bay (buses every half hour).

The local pub(The Ox) was a joy with friendly locals. We enjoyed the Sunday carvery and used the pub a few times.

As we travelled form Bristol it is unlikely we shall be returning to the Lebberston site (almost 6 hours driving time) but we do highy recommend it.

What an absolute gem of a site. From it's location and facilities to the marvellous wardens.

There are great places within walking distance for everyone to enjoy. From walks onto the Cleveland Way( less than 2 miles away) into Filey and Cayton Bay and Scarborough.

There is plenty to do along the East Coast for young and old.

The 171 bus runs into both these if you need.

If you fancy a pint and a great meal try The Ox in Lebberston or The Bull in Gristhorpe, quality and only 5 minutes from the site. Walking!

The site has everything from fantastic toilet blocks to immaculate grassed areas. And a shop that keeps everything in stock.

Jayne and Mark two of the warden are so friendly and help at a minutes notice. Although on a few days off I needed a 50 mtr tape to measure some work and suddenly is was there. And he fitted my towing safety after it snapped off!

Cannot praise this site enough.

WELL DONE TO ALL

This is an extremely good site. Everything is in working order and is spick and span. The staff are very welcoming and they even used their tractor to put the caravan onto the pitch and then leveled it for me. The site is immaculate. We were in the Paddock which is an annex that holds four touring caravans. This annex was also immaculate and probably a little quieter than the main site. The only disadvantage was that it was a longer walk to the toilet facilities but as we use our own on-board facilities this was not an issue. The on-site shop was also well stocked and the dog walk ws secure enough to let the dog off the lead. All in all Lebberston is an excellent site and the only negative is that it is a little expensive. But I guess that you get what you pay for.

Filey is about 2 miles away. Both local pubs, the Ox in Lebberston and the Bull in Gristhorpe are fine. The beer in both is good and the food is of reasonable pub grub standard. Some of the portions in the Ox are really too big but that's better than too small. Also the landlord has an annoying habit of greeting everyone with 'Good Morning' regardless of the time of day!

The fish and chip shop at Crossgates is excellent and about 4 miles away. Be aware that the takeaway closes at 7. 30 most evenings and that last orders in the cafe are about 45 minutes before closing time.

Really good site, easy to find, the owners and staff are very welcoming and are willing to help out from siting your van for you to bringing bricks for disposable barbecue to stand on.

Good position within easy reach of Filey

Toilets and showers spotless but they could do with less cubicled sinks and a couple more showers in the ladies. , having said that I only had to wait a couple of times, but the site wasn't full.

If you are considering using the wi-fi check first if it's compatabe with your equipment, we have iPhones and iPads but couldn't get more than 1min on line, we were told after we had paid that for some unknown reason iPads don't work very well with their provider.

Otherwise we enjoyed our weeks stay.

Easy to get to on the road between Filey (3miles) and Scarborough (7miles) On arrival we were checked in straight away and asked for the £10 deposit for the barrier key, this is refundable upon departure. We were asked to unhook our van outside reception and was told the owner would take our van to the pitch with his tractor, this was great, he leveled it too! We were asked if we would like a morning paper. There's a small shop but cant really comment as we never used it.

Facilities are immaculate, lovely spotless showers (3 in ladies) 2 sinks with shower curtains and 4 toilets. I never saw anyone else in there, even though the site was busy. This site is mainly full of seasonal pitches. There isn't a park for kids but my 3 children (12, 9, 6) had plenty of fun on the field in front of touring pitches and on their bikes. You can tell the owners take great pride in the site, I would most certainly visit again in the future.

We took the 2 grandsons the week before Easter, the owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

The boys played safely on the centre play area all day and never stop talking about their visit.

The toilets and shower block were clean and to a high standard. A couple of good pubs/eating places within easy walk/drive. Filey, Scarborough, Bridlington and the Wolds are also within an easy drive.

Would definitely return when next in the area.

We have been to Leberston Touring Park for the last four years, this is an excellent site (we get a Christmas Card every year from Mark and Jane) The site is in the village of Leberston and has easy access, The toilet and shower blocks are kept spotless, the site has a football field size play area in the middle for the children, although there isn't a play ground with swings/slides, The access to Pickering and the north Yorkshire steam railway is easy, take the train through Goathland( Heartbeat series) and onto Whitby for a great day out, we shall be returning again.
